I purchased this machine as a gift to myself since I enjoy Starbucks coffee. With the container in the back where the pods drop, after the frist use I noticed the water and the mess from the pods dropping in the container. So what I did was put a piece of paper towel in the container and it has been fine. I clean that out every week and there has not been a problem. I love my machine and there are no maggots in there to speak of.

I have enjoyed having live maggots in my machine just by not cleaning this after every use. the cost is 3 times as much then going to starbucks. the amount of coffee you receive is tiny per serving. 15 seconds to make and 10 minutes to clean after use. it takes 3 pods to make a small expresso. kerching. if you really dislike someone, put this on your list.

I bought the machine for my husband to use. there was a bit of a learning curve regarding placement of pods in machine. the trick is to quickly press down lever after pod is placed in machine so that it doesn't fall down before brewing. it looks very nice and he is happy with the coffee.

I've tried 3 different brand pod machines 2 you had dispose the pods yourself after use. The 580 has container where empty pods fall into, I preferred disposing them myself rather than cleaning container that also has water and milk that drains into this container, if you leave it for a period of time it starts to smell. If you don't mind the cleaning, than its a good machine. I just gave up on the pod machines altogether and purchased a Frother and my favorite syrup and make my own lattes :)

I was hesitant to ask for the Verismo for Christmas after reading several negative reviews, but I'm EXTREMELY happy I got one! After trying the machine out several times I have come to the conclusion that many negative reviews of the machine could be part to user error. It's not as simple as pushing one button if your making a Latte(you only have to press 2 buttons for this) but it's way more of a spohicated machine than a simple Keurig. I'm OBSESSED with my Verismo and telling everyone to purchase one. Please also note I was not a huge Starbucks fan before this, but they have my business now!

I'm so happy I received this for a Christmas gift. I was hesitant to ask for one after reading several negative reviews, but I really wanted one. After using the machine for several days I have come to the conclusion that many negative reviews are due to user error. Read your owner manual to make sure you operate the machine properly. The coffee it produces is of high quality than a water-down Keurig. The Verismo is more of a sophicated machine and produces better tasting beverages. I added vanilla syrup to my latte and it taste very close to the real deal at my local Starbucks. Milk pods don't taste "horrible" as some review state(in my personal opinion it taste like milk). Loud machine? It is louder than a Keurig but thats mainly due to the high pressure of the machine to produce the beverage of choice. Messy? Not at all. When brewing some excess liquid falls into the drip tray but that is excepted. Difficult to operate? Nope. It only have 3 buttons, 1 for espresso, 1 for brewed coffee and 1 for milk. How complicated is that? Invest in quality and purchase the Verismo. By far my favorite new kitchen gadget.

Stay with Keurig

Worst ever.. It leaked all over the place and into the dicard container. Sometimes you would get a large when you pressed the small button and vise versa. Out of the 15 times we used it, it worked properly once and it was pretty good. I recommend you go with Keurig NOT Starbucks version. We've had our Keurig Coffe maker 3 years and it's never messed up once. I will say bed bath and beyond was great locally on the return because I orded it on the internet.

Because the thing about this machine was the ability to make espresso i tried that at the demo but did not think the taste or crema quality was up to par. I am investigating the other manufacturers that I think we will be happier with.

if you like starbucks coffee, you have to try this machine. It's basically the same as the keurig brewer but with starbucks coffee, which is way better than the stuff available for keurig. I highly recommend it.
