This may work fine when mounting on drywall, but it will not work on tile. Get the Moen and use a drill.

I didn't want to put holes in my new homes walls so I bought this rod. It's a pretty oiled bronzed color so it matches the new styles. The ONLY complaint I have is that you can't put "curtains" directly through the rod. The curtain has to be hung with hooks so not very good to use in tall ceiling bathrooms that a real curtain is desired. I took the top of a shower curtain & sewed a matching piece at the bottom to extend the length of the curtain. Stays in place even with my 5 year old playing in the tub & pulling on it!

Easier to Install than Promised - Works Great

We have been remodeling an ancient farmhouse and were finishing up the work in the bathroom when I ordered this shower rod. Our tub is fiberglass with built in wall surround. Above the surround is painted bathroom-grade drywall (semi-gloss paint). I read the instructions that cautioned two people would be required for this installation, but decided to give it a shot alone.
I loosened the adjustment screws to allow me to extend the rod to the approximate length I needed. I then balanced on the first rung of a step stool while I held the rod roughly in place with my left hand and tightened the adjustment screws. Then, continuing to support the rod with my left hand, I used my right hand to turn the final adjuster part of the rod, until the fit was snug and gripped the painted part of the wall beautifully..... I got off the ladder to determine whether my rod was straight, and decided it was not bad, but could use a minor adjustment, which I accomplished by loosening the adjustment end slightly, repositioning and then re-tightening.
Once I was satisfied the rod was straight and at a level I was satisfied with, I hung the shower curtain, which is not particularly lightweight. The rod held it fine and it opens and closes with ease.
My installation took less than 10 minutes and my husband was surprised to see it was up and functioning when he came in the bathroom.
So far, so good. I'm very happy with this shower rod.

I purchased this shower bar and had to end up using a drill and screws to get this grip the walls without sliding as I was working to tighten the bar. The little set screw did to grip the bat to prevent this for sliding. I ended up setting the bar close the size I needed and drilled holes and put in screws to finally get it to work. If you buy this be prepared to follow this process to get it to work for you.

Does Not Grip Tile

We have had an adjustable, no drilling required, shower rod before without any problems however this particular brand would not mount to our tiled shower wall. It simply would not stay up. After three attempts, we deemed it a failure.
