Weakling

I almost didn't purchase this vac do to the last review saying it is heavy . Yes it is a bit heavier but there is a reason for this ,the added weight is needed for the extended reach feature or other wise it will fall over like all the other vacs I have had including the navigator . As far as how heavy it is I can tell you I am a weakling ,and I just carried it up and down my stair case with no problem, works great and holds accessories well .Glad I ignored the previous review ,

rolls royce of vacums

I've been needing a new vacuum for a couple of years having had my old war horse Hoover which was on it's last legs having had it for close to 17 years. Looking and shopping around I just wasn't sold on anything specific and didn't want to pay $500 for a new vacuum. A friend/neighbor of mine had recently purchased the Shark Rotator and extolled it's virtues so that being said, I went online and ordered it. It arrived and assembled relatively easily and let me just say that, having three cats, it was put to the test. It passed with flying colors!! It it very maneuverable, thoroughly cleans up any and all hair dust etc and leaves the carpets and rugs looking new! Definitely recommend to anyone considering upgrading or in need of a new vacuum to give this one a try...you'll be glad you did!!

I found this unit cumbersome and heavy for being a 'lightweight' unit. Great suction, but not easy to move around as it is portrayed in the commercials. Taking it back and getting a true 'lightweight' model. Probably a Dyson.

"Wow"!! would sum it up in one word if that's all I was allowed, but this is absolutely the best vacuum I've ever owned. I got it last week and finally used it yesterday and I was amazed at how well it picked up. Having several small long-haired dogs, this is perfect for cleaning up their fur that sheds everywhere. It's powerful and quiet and so easy to maneuver. I love it!

The suction is amazing. I was going to get the dyson but didn't want to spend the money. I am so happy with my selection. I did the dirt test. I vacuumed with my old one then went back over it with the shark. Wow that is all I can say.

Excellent Buy, Exceptional Vacuum!

I bought this vacuum after using Oreck for years. I always liked the light weight of the Oreck, but after using the Shark, I realized I was sacrificing good cleaning for the lighter weight vacuum! I vacuumed my house with my old Oreck, and then went behind it with the Shark, and I was amazed...and slightly grossed out that all of that would have been left on my floors with the old vac! It was well over a cup of debris! I don't have any pets, but I do have three kids, so it's important to have something that can really get the job done. I love how easy it is to use all the attachments. It will save me from having to switch back and forth with my separate canister vacuum (also an Oreck with way less suction power!). All in all, I am very impressed so far. It's easy to maneuver, I love the features and most importantly, it really does a great job cleaning!

Shark Rotator lift away vaccum

Love this vacuum. I can't believe how much it picked up after I had vacuumed the room. My only concern is that my carpet is really thick and the vacuum is heavy to push. I have another vacuum that has a slider that we put on the bottom and it makes the vacuum move easier. Do you have anything like this?

I love this vac. I am 59 and have used many different vacuums from $40. cheapies to $800. Kirby. This is the best vacuum I have ever used. Fine engineering, outstanding performance, great price, and very stylish even.
Interesting from a few of the other reviewers -- picky, picky, picky -- they all want a Porsche for the price of a Volkswagen (I think my Shark is a Porsche). They should design and manufacture their own "perfect" vacuum and see what it costs! Probably the same people who custom design their own dollar menu meals at McDonald's.
Thanks, Shark.

Shark Rotator NV402

WE just bought this Shark earlier today. After getting the box home, the assembly was easy to finish. Next was to try and compare it to our Dyson DC17 Animal. My first impression was that it cleaned very well and the adjustable suction was helpful on our area rugs (a feature our Dyson doesn't have). The dirt cup is MUCH smaller than the Dyson and had to be emptied about twice as often.
Although it is lighter than my shop vac, I wouldn't call it "light" like it is advertised to be. I don't see this as a problem at this time. I was very concerned with the number of out of the box failures and 1 and 2 star reviews that I read plus the reported poor quality of Sharks customer support. Because of these concerns I choose to buy the vacuum through Bed, Bath and Beyond where I can return it and get my money back if I find it has problems or if I simply don't like it. I am keeping my receipt handy.
For the time being and for the future I hope the receipt stays locked up and isn't needed.
My first impression is that even though the handle feels a bit heavy, the Shark Rotator seems to clean well and that is what I really buy a vacuum cleaner for any way. We have 3 fairly large dogs and a cat so it didn't pick much actual dirt but it did pick up a large amount of animal hair. The house was cleaned with the Dyson yesterday morning so much of this was either new since then or residual from what the Dyson left behind.
More later as our experience builds

Great vacuum for the price

I really wanted a new vacuum but wasn't sure what I wanted, just knew I didn't want the Dyson (I feel it's over priced for what it really does) My husband picked this one and I have to say it's a great vacuum. I didn't think it would do such a great job because it is so light. Has great suction, light weight, very easy to maneuver in tight spots and low clearance spots it's great, can get further under things. Down falls are, it only has 1 aprox 2ft long stick for the attachments, so I can't dow my floors with it with out breaking my back- the vacuum it's self does do floors but I prefer to do it with the attachment to get close to the edges. And the dirt tank is kind of small.

Fabulous vacuum -- I vacuumed this morning with my electrolux and then after purchasing this one later in the day I tried it out. You can't imagine how much the Electrolux missed. Although I don't consider it to be a lightweight -- like an Oreck, it is an amazing cleaner.

Remarkable vacuum

We have a Great Pyrenees & a Maine Coon, they both shed ALOT and my Eureka made me dread vacuuming because really, it was pointless. I would have to use an Evercare lint remover, the kind with red cloth on either side, to remove the pet hair from the carpeting BEFORE I vacuumed and even then, I would have to stop the vacuum to clean the brush-roller on the vacuum, at least three times. It was SO tedious and, like I said I dreaded it. I had heard others speak of the Shark, one of my friends even returned a Dyson and replaced it with the Shark because the Dyson would spit stuff out while vacuuming. Anyways she raved and raved. So I went to Bed-Bath & Beyond as I knew, if I wasn't happy there would be NO problem with a return. Well, let me tell you this is one fricking, awesomely, amazing vacuum!!!!!!! Wow. Before I vacuum, no Evercare lint remover needed and when I am done vacuuming you can roll around on the carpet and there is NO HAIR picked up on your clothing. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to vacuum with my Shark.
Before getting the Shark, I was thinking of replacing all of my carpet with hardwood because I figured that would be easier to clean. But no longer. The Shark KILLS it vacuuming. I will never own another brand of vacuum again. Vacuuming is now a pleasure. This vacuum really sucks!!!! (And that is a very good thing)

I loved the color Shark came out with this time (white & red).
It is superior and glides well on hard wood floor.
I have a large dog & two cats,it definately pick-up pets hair very well, great suction.
Multi tools to work with.
I have hard wood floor & area rugs as well, with a push of a button, you can change from carpet to bare floor.
The caddy was o.k,good place to put tools on,not all of them, just some.
The long cord was a good idea.
I didn't think the motor was that quiet.
It does swivel to the left & right,a nice touch from Shark.
Now the cons:The adjustable crevice tools has a rubber tip at the end, did not glide smoothly on any surface. It tends to catch as you run it along the heater base board.
The handle for the sweeper is too large,it is awkward when you pull & push the sweeper, especially when you take the canister out to carry it or putting it on the caddy.
It is somewhat light.
I wish the hose was longer & not as stiff,it was a struggle to push & pull the sweeper back & forth, the hose gets caught between the ring when you pull back while you're sweeping, especially when I put the canister on the caddy. You constantly have to pull the hose back out.
The large hand held tools I used on the furniture did not pick up pets hair all that well.
Using the 20% coupon from BB&B and get $50.00 off was great.
The cord was on the right, which it was in the way.
Could of been a great sweeper.
The canister top & bottom lids was flimsy.Although it is a good size.
The mesh filter inside the canister locate at the top did have a protective cover over it,as a shield to avoid pets hair from getting inside. It is a good idea.

I bought this vacuum October 26, 2012 and it beats any and all vacuums I have ever tried in my lifetime. I have tried Dyson, Miele, Hoover etc etc and this little guy beats them all lol. What is really funny is instead of spending a fortune you can buy one at a reasonable price. I bought mine at Bed Bath and Beyond with the 20% coupon so I paid 180- with tax.

Expectations Exceeded

I am excited! I have had 3 Dyson's in past 5 months, all having been disappointing in their performance, specifically in suction power. I read a positive review on this vacuum and purchased it with guarded optimism. Finally! LOVE it. This gem is less than HALF the price of the Dyson, and it OUT performs the Dyson in suction by a MILE. Additionally, it has a larger dirt cannester, longer cord, is fairly quiet, the attachments work efficiently, and it maneuvers with ease. It has a self propelled motion that was an unexpected plus. So far, there are no minuses. The cord is on the opposite side, which takes a bit of getting used to. 5 Stars! And I am a tough judge. Watch out Dyson.
