My husband and I put this on our wedding registry and received it as a gift at my bridal shower. His aunt that bought it for us bought the same one the next day and we both love it! Its great for a smaller kitchen and if you want to recycle. Keeping the bag secured on either side takes a little time but we have never had one fall in or spill trash. The trash bags are a little pricey but honestly I will deal because the trashcan has been so useful. We have no need for the locking mechanism but I have used it a few times and have had no problems.

Not worth the price or frustration

I bought this online because of the seemingly decent price and the fact that I could lock it to keep my pets out of the trash. Unfortunately, the sliding lock is so hard to move that I never use it. Plus, the bags don't stay in place, so I'm constantly having to fix them. The two sections (trash and recycle) don't have separate bins (there's just a piece of plastic you slide in to separate them), so the bags don't have separate edges to fold over in the middle. This makes it really hard to keep them in place. I expected a lot more from a SimpleHuman can.

End result: I'm returning it today and going to have to pony up for a much more expensive can.

This trash can works well for recycling! Much neater than several different trash cans, and less expensive than installing the pull-out ones. The lid opens when you step on the lever, allowing hands-free access to bins. The slide lock on tops keeps my dogs out of the trash. Love it!
