These sheets are so soft and easy to put on. I have a pillow top mattress with a puffy mattress pad and a temperpedic mattress topper. These sheets have no problem covering the mattress neatly. I have CFIDS and most of my day is spent in bed. So sheets are important. I have one set and just purchased another set. I've never been so excited about sheets!!!
I received these as a gift from a family friend. The fitted sheet is great and has a wide elastic band. It fits completely around my thick memory foam mattress and tucks under it. The flat sheet had some debris on it. I took photos just in case. I put them immediately in the washer in hopes it will come off. I will not be returning them either way. The are very expensive and it was just a minor thing. I am looking forward to sleeping on these sheets!
After BB&B discontinued my absolute favorite sheet line I was freaking out a little. I hate having to try and find good quality sheets only to find out they aren't comfy or they pill or they aren't deep enough. Sheex are amazing. I bought the 100% cotton/600 thread count. I was a little nervous when I first opened the package. They don't really feel soft and they feel like a synthetic material out of the packaging. But after washing them a few times they soften and are so nice!! I'm thinking about giving these sheets as gifts for my mom/dad and sister/husband for xmas. And I'm getting ready to buy two more sets for our quest beds. THat's how sold I am. I know these will last for years.
I have the 100% cotton Sheex and I really love them. I am not sure why other reviewers don't like them very much. They are very comfortable and they keep me from waking up too hot in the middle of the night. They are not scratchy like a lot of other cotton sheets. They come out a little wrinkled from the dryer, but that is pretty normal for 100% cotton. I would not buy the other version with the polyester. They seem like they would be very annoying - like sleeping on my workout clothes.
These sheets are amazing......they launder very well and they REALLY HELP us to sleep better!!!! These are the one of the best sheets I have ever slept on and I look forward to many more years of great sleep on these great sheets. And YES they are a little on the pricey side but you do get what you pay for. Thanks for a pleasant and efficient buying experience
I bought these sheets on clearence for 75.00 of regular price. I read reviews and disagree with people that say the are bad. To me it is just normal everday life to take care of your feet. Apparently not Sheex users! I do not purchase pedicures. I tend to my own feet and have no problems with my feet catching on the sheets. If you dont want to tend to your feet and choose to leave them nasty, these sheets are not for you. I LOVE them and recommend to anyone who is not lazy with their feet!
First off, I had no idea that there were 2 different kinds of Sheex - one with 600 tc Egyptian cotton and one partially made with spandex. When I ordered them, I thought they were all the same, and after reading a lot of reviews about how silky, soft, stretchy, etc. they were, I was super-stoked to receive these. I received them yesterday, and was excited to get to use them for the first time last night.
First off, when I unzipped the package and swept my hand over the material, I was disappointed that they seemed anything but stretchy, and they were certainly not soft. Thick, yes - very thick. Almost crisp, or rough. Opposite of silky. At this point, I would venture to say that they feel like any other ordinary Egyptian cotton sheets with a similar thread count (and there are softer ones out there than these, for sure), although I had no idea that I had ordered the Egyptian cotton version as opposed to the "regular" Sheex. I wish they would have different names (even something like Sheex Performance I and Sheex Performance II) to emphasize the fact that these are 2 entirely, completely different sheets, made out of completely different materials, with a completely different feel. I have a friend who owns the Sheex with the spandex blend, and they do NOT feel the same at ALL. She didn't even believe me that mine were Sheex too until she saw the label with "Sheex" on it and my original packaging. I ordered these from BBandB, so it's not like I got them from some private dealer, either. We are talking night and day in the differences, not just a few subtle differences. They are both the same price, too, which makes it all the more confusing if you are not looking closely enough at the descriptions.
Now, on to my official review of how they performed: I have a weird habit of going to sleep freezing cold (I am normally extremely cold natured until I am in a deep sleep), and waking up in pools of sweat in the middle of the night (the sweating part started only a couple of months ago, and it really grosses me out and bothers me), so I was really hoping these would alleviate that. Also, my husband is always hot when he sleeps, and rarely can keep covers on himself...so I was hoping that these sheets would help both of us out.
We slipped under the covers for the first time, and we were both like, "Meh...." They weren't uncomfortable, but the thickness/stiffness feel was not the feel we were looking for. They felt much the same as our old blah $30 sheet set (which was also thick and stiff, which was why we wanted something softer). If you are looking for soft and sexy, these aren't the sheets for you. After sleeping on them last night, I noticed my husband was still throwing his covers off because he was too hot, and I did my usual number of "OMG, I am freezing cold" and shivering under the covers until I fell asleep...only to awake to sweating in the middle of the night again. I did not, however, sweat QUITE so much - normally by the end of the night into morning, I wake up to wet clothes/sheets from sweating (I know, gross!). This morning, I awoke to dry clothing and dry sheets (which is an improvement) for the first time in the past couple of months, so either my sweating was fairly minimal due to the "cooling" effect, and/or these sheets really DO wick moisture away effectively. Although this may be a good thing, I am still very disappointed in how these are anything but soft. I think the description said something like, "Buttery Soft", and I would describe it more like, "Milktoast rough". LOL.
One interesting item to note is that many reviewers spoke about things snagging easily on these sheets. When I first got these, I was so very confused about this, because mine did the opposite...they were so rough and thick that nothing seemed to snag. They do anything but cling, and they do NOT mold/stretch to your body as other reviewers have talked about. I would have to say that they are stretch resistant, if anything. This is actually a positive, which is why I am giving them 3 stars. My husband has super rough hands and feet...he had no problems at all with snagging. I had a snag in one of my nails and I accidentally brushed it across the sheets and...nuttin'. No marks, snags, etc. My cat kneaded lightly on them. Nuttin'. If that doesn't say anything about how different these are from the spandex ones, then I don't know what will.
Overall? If you want the silky, soft, stretchy feel...go for the "regular" Sheex Performance sheets, and make sure it contains the spandex blend, not the 100% cotton. If you are the type of person that prefers crisper, thicker sheets, go for the ones that specify the 600 Egyptian cotton tc, although I would have to say that the price is pretty steep for just an ordinary set of sheets with that tc, and you could probably just save your money and shop elsewhere/get a different brand/better deal. Just be aware that not all Sheex sheet sets are the same, which is why you may read a bunch of mixed and confused reviews. I apparently did not read closely enough as to the descriptions, and assumed that there was just one Sheex. Again...IMHO, the makers of Sheex should rename one of the lines of sheet sets to something different, otherwise there are going to continue to be a lot of confusing reviews out there.
I am going to give these sheets a few more nights to officially see if they are helping my sleep with the sweating issue. If they do, then I can put up with the lack of softness in exchange for better rest/less sweatiness. Also, I am hoping that these will soften over time with multiple washings, as well. I don't necessarily have any fear that these will tear or pill or snag, since they are really thick and seem to be durable, at least.
Hope this review helps for people like me that are confused about the mixed reviews!
In the end, these are just another brand of cotton sheets, nothing special. The fitted elastic is nice, and hopefully will last through the MANY years of usage that will be needed to recover the investment cost. The dense cotton material is heavy on top of your feet and legs, and warmer than other high quality sheets.
I purchased these sheets because I like a light smooth soft coverage in a sheet and my partner likes no cheet or a silky sheet. These are great when you overheat or if you are someone who runs hot. I purchased two sets. They aren't expensive if you love them.
