Beautiful Colors!!

This is a beautiful set. We bought it for our guest bedroom. Not much sun light enters that room and the color of this set brighten up the room. The fabric isn't the best though. If you pull on it the fabric, it stretches and doesn't go back in place. Because it's in the guest room and not in frequent use, the comforter is in mint condition.

Disappointing quality

I'm a fan of all things Orla Kiely so I anxiously awaited this line when I heard it would be at BB&B. I had been saving gift cards from my wedding specifically to use for new bedding and this fits our decor perfectly. I bought the queen comforter and just loved her classic stem print and the vibrant colors. With the first washing, a couple small areas around the red and brown petals bled. It's only quilted in a few spots so a few areas did get lumpy, but I figured it wasn't that noticable so no big deal. Now only a few washings later, the colors are faded and looking worn out, and a few areas look thin and are slightly pilled. It's only a few months old, but looks like I've had it for years! It's a shame - for as much as this thing cost, I really expected better.

Great print, but disappointing quality...

This is by far the best vintage-inspired or retro print I have found in bedding, but the overall quality is pretty disappointing- these sheets feel like the cheap ones I had when I was a kid and the thread count on the comforter is so low that I can literally pull the threads apart with my fingers. They're not worth the price, but I'm keeping them anyway, since I can't find anything else I like looking at better!

Stem F/Q Mini Bed Set

Please consider that you are buying a licensed version of a high-end, expensive, hard to get in the States designer brand, and you will not be disappointed with this set. I purchased the Stem F/Q Mini Comforter set and I am very satisfied with the quality and price, considering what it is.

The colors and print are vibrant, the fabric has a smooth hand to it, and the loft is high. It's just as good quality as any other comforter set you would buy. The price range is a bit higher, but that is because you are paying for the designer label of Orla Kiely.

It is not fair to compare this set to anything that you would buy directly from Orla Kiely in the UK, or even the Target stuff from a few years back. I own a lot of home items from the OK UK store and from Target (also some of the stuff from Uniqlo), and let me enlighten you - the UK stuff is much better quality than the Target line. I think it's fair to say that the Target & BBB lines are comparable for what they are.

If you love Orla Kiely, especially this iconic Stem print, but cannot afford or access the bedding from the UK, then this set is a suitable substitution. Just go into this purchase with realistic expectations if you are a long time OK fan an own any of the UK stuff. There will be a quality difference, but you shouldn't be incredulous about it.

I'd also love to see this as a duvet set or see some matching bath items! Thanks for carrying this item and making available this affordable alternative for OK fans Stateside.

Request extra pillow cases that match sheet set

I ordered and received both the stem print sheet set and the multi stem comforter set. They seem about right for the money. However, I am disappointed that there aren't extra pillowcase sets for sale that match the sheet sets - the all-white shams that are for sale separately just aren't going to work - I don't use white sheets and the white really doesn't go with the colorfulness of the rest of the bedding. Please let me know if you're going to sell sets of pillowcases! Thanks

Beautiful print - horrible quality.

I love Orla Kiely. As in I have multiple handbags (including this exact stem print), almost her entire Target line throughout my house, and even fabric from the UK that I made into pillows. So I was super excited when I heard about her line for BB&B and bought the full/queen comforter set for our master bedroom. I put the comforter on the bed and within 30 seconds I noticed a snag in the fabric. The quality is AWFUL. Here's my rundown:

1. The comforter is filled with polyester - not so nice. The weight is odd, and it feels very cheap. As my husband put it, "It feels like a sleeping bag".

2. The stem-printed cotton outer layer is ridiculously cheap and thin. If you have pets, or like to lounge on your bed and read, or have little kids - forget it. It snagged within 30 seconds of being on my bed.

3. The print is poorly done - if you take a close look at the print you can see that the "leaves" on the stems don't even match up - some overlap the stem, some are crooked, etc.

Overall it's a shame - I love Orla Kiely and her prints and the quality of her Target line was great (and her regular signature line is gorgeous) - this is really a step down for her. I'm extremely disappointed that I have to return this set - I love the print, but for the amount I paid for it (I used one of the ubiquitous coupons), I'd expect it to be much nicer quality.

Review of the new Orla Kiely line at BB&B

I've been a Orla Kiely customer for years and was super excited about the prospect of being able to purchase the Stems print set in the U.S. I just returned from the store and didn't end up buying it. My reasons?
1) The only item currently available in the colorful stem print is a comforter set (for $179.00 for a Queen; includes stem printed comforter and two shams). Unfortunately, I was looking for a duvet cover with shams, which currently isn't available. The print is great in person, but the set won't work for me.
2) The Queen Stem sheet sets are completely sold out.
3) In person, the stem pillow was really rough and cheap looking ($39.00) with a white fleece inset for the stems and a rough feeling (and roughly printed) canvas for the pillow. The orange accents were cute, but overall it has a mass-produced feel.

I'm glad I saw it in person before purchasing it. Fortunately, I fell in love with the Jaipur Duvet Cover from Echo while I was in the store, so I may end up with that set instead.

Very pretty and vivid colors

We love this set and I am so happy Orla Kiely finally made bedding for the US market. The colors are very pretty. The quality is good, what you would expect for the price. It's not 800 thread count but it works great and is 100% cotton. The comforter is also very thick so it's a bit hot for our Texas summer but will be cozy in the winter. We usually use a quilt for summer but I couldn't resist putting this cheery bedding on our bed. It really brings the room together.
