Best Food Processor

After reading all of the reviews for food processors on Bed, Bath & Beyond and Amazon I selected the Breville Sous Chef. The fit and finish on this processor is excellent, way above any of the Cuisinarts, Kitchenaids, and others I've seen or read about. They all seem like toys compared to the Breville. It's a true professionals' machine. The power is amazing and it can chop and slice through anything with no noticable effort.
I was especially impressed with how well this is made. All of the attachments seem to be top of the line including the bowls, top cover, knives, disks, and connecting components. The food insertion chute is very large and can fit fairly big potatoes without a problem. This processor even comes with its own separate storage unit that keeps everything organized and in one place. A nice touch is that the electrical plug is molded with a hole for your finger that easily pulls the plug from the outlet even if your fingers are oily.
On the downside it is an expensive machine. Yet, I can honestly say that in this case you get what you pay for. If I had this to do over again, knowing what I know, I would definitely buy this again. It really is that good.

I purchased this food processor and at first was disappointed because it ran but the blades woudl not turn. Took it back to Bed Bath and Beyond and exchanged it. They said they had never had that brand returned...This one works great! It is a costly purchase but in my opinion it is wortt the extra. I thought I read in the manual that you could not use cheese but in the video they did so I will recheck the book and then call the company if I have any questions....if it works with cheese that will be that much the better.....I am very well please with this product. I don't mind the clean up at all and I even purchased the Juicer too!

I LOVE my new Breville food processor. It is so easy to use and clean...I like to double recipes because we love leftovers at our house...This Breville handles large quantities easily. I also like to make my own mayo and the inner smaller capacity bowl is perfect for small batches! I would highly recommend this product!

What took me so long!?

I absolutely LOVE this food processor!! It has the power and speed I need for all of my cooking needs. I cooked breakfast for 150 people at the emergency shelter for the last 3 years - from scratch - and this processor was SUCH a blessing this year that I'm wondering what on earth took me so long to get one! It handled the larger amounts just fine and took mere seconds to finely chop and blend and mix. I have been amazed!
Every step of the ordering process was so simple - delivered in no time, no hassles.
Thank you!!

Breville Sous Chef Food Processor

This is the best food proccessor on the market. I first purchased a Cuisinart but it had so many flaws I had to return it. The makers of the Breville Sous Chef Food Processor designed it with everything in mind. It's a tall appliance but it's attractive enough to put on the counter to match all my stainless steel appliances. It's easy to use, clean and makes perfect cuts everytime. Consumer reports state this is the best proccessor available. I highly recommend this product to those who want to cut down their food preparation.

I have had a Cuisinart that has been working well for the past 23 years. However recently I have been cooking different types of food and needed some parts. I needed a slicing blade 1 mm to be able to do my own potato, sweet potato or plantain chips the old fashioned way. I also needed the 1mm to do my own sauerkraut, dry my food in the Excalibur dryer and my other lacto fermented products with the Pickl-It system (see Pickl-It website). I normally use a mandoline slicer but it was just taking too much time to do it by hand. i really needed a very good machine to help me prepare all my products. When I called Cuisinart, they told me that the 1mm had been discontinued for my model. They had other 1mm blades but their blades are not interchangeable. Cuisinart directed me to other merchants to see if they carried it. None of them did. Then Cuisinart suggested I purchase their Elite model which has an adjustable slicer blade. At first I was very impressed to hear about their adjustable blade which went to 1mm. As I was about to purchase the Elite, I saw this review of the Breville Food Processor Sous Chef by a buyer who said he was disappointed with the Cuisinart Elite and switched to the Breville. I was curious. Then I saw that the Breville was Consumer Reports number one and that it was BPA free. In Europe, there are many items BPA free but here it is rare. I was hesitating because of the price. I truly was not sure it was worth spending this amount of money. I went on You Tube and did a lot of research online. I decided to give it a chance. The key was the BPA, Consumer Reports, and for me the fact that the adjustable range of the blade was bigger, from 0,3mm to 8 mm, and that the machine really looked very solid. For all my lacto fermented products, I also saw that I would be able to do all kinds of shapes with the different attachments for the fermentation with Pickl-It. The comments on dough making did not affect me because I do not bake as I do not eat much grain products but I home cook most of my foods. But in case I needed to make dough, I saw that Breville seemed to suggest pulsing for making dough and saw videos online on how to make dough with the Breville. So, I bought this machine and boy, was I happy!!!! This is the best investment I made. I can take care of a huge, huge, huge, big head of cabbage in less than 1mn20 sliced with 0.3 and it like paper thin. I have a small kitchen but still found space for it. I use my Breville everyday. Trust me. This is the biggest gift to yourself. You will not regret it. I have become even more creative with my cooking. I saw a chef online who said he had not been paid by Breville, but the Breville Food Processor Sous Chef is by far the best thing out there. It is true. I really am happy I purchased it. And anyone who has this Breville food processor machine will love it. It is easy to operate, easy to clean, it is silent, works fast, I slice my vegetables and then either steam them or cook them in my Chamba claypot cookware and it is delicious. My guests are truly impressed and happy. You too will be. Guaranteed!!!!

Awesomeness for our family food prep! Well done!

The Breville BFP800XL Sous Chef became our recent kitchen "work horse." After years of using Cuisinart food processors with mixed results, we tried upgrading (in total cup capacity, power, flexible slicing options) to Cuisinart's FP-14DC (die cast) from our worn Cuisinart DLC-2007N. This unit was a significant investment for our family. As we make a majority of all our meals for everyone in our household, food safety and time savings are extremely important. Unfortunately, we found several flaws with the Cuisinart FP-14DC.
1. The Cuisinart bowl and lid are not BPA-free, which risk leaching BPA into the food we prepare for our children and ourselves.
2. The Cuisinart spring loaded/gasketed lid does not always close fully even with the safety is engaged which can spatter food outward into the sub bowls and bowl lip that should otherwise stay completely on the inside of the unit.
3. There is a major design flaw with the Cuisinart lid where food also gets trapped in the spring loaded / gasket of the lid and is nearly impossible to remove.
We tried scrubbing the unit for long periods of time with toothbrushes, thin hose cleaners, and jets of water, - to no avail. The food trapped between the gasket side, top-underside, or tight contoured corners stays behind and ends up causing mold growth and further makes the Cuisinart unit unsafe for food prep in our opinion, not to mention a major time waster.
We were pleasantly surprised that Breville BFP800XL addressed all of the flaws found in the Cuisinart unit.
The Breville provides;
*PBA-free bowl and parts
*The lid closes completely and tightly so that food will not splatter if the feed shoot is also covered as directed
*The lid cleans EASILY and QUICKLY without wasting excess water, effort, or time.
Bonus for us are the additional blade options, spatula, and cleaning brush that Breville thoughtfully included in the kit.
This unit is our second Breville product and we could not be happier with the product so far. We also love our Breville Juicer!

This is the best food processor I have ever used. I had two very competitive brands prior to this one. It is pricey, but I will pay more for quality. The smaller workbowl is perfect. I have never had a leak, and everything is easy to clean.
A great investment!

i couldn't wait for bed bath to carry this so i ended up ordering elsewhere last december. this is one of the best investments we've made for our kitchen - saves lots of time! the processor is ALL that it's cracked up to be - fast, quiet, sturdy, and does a beautiful job with slicing , chopping, "julienneing", grating (just incredible!) etc. with minimal waste. have even made ground beef with it. it's so versatile and has allowed me to be more creative in the kitchen. clean up is easy and fast. highly recommended and all the better that bed bath is now carrying it!

Right as soon as Bed Bath & Beyond carried this I went and ordered one. This Breville replaced my Cuisinart Prep 11 Plus. The Breville Sous Chef has the power to chop and slice anything, power with precision. I used the French Fry blade and wow talk about quick. I had 5 whole Russet potatoes sliced within seconds. The great thing is whole potatoes fit in the chute which is nice and wide. Tonight I used the adjustable slicer blade for whole lengths of pepperoni and it sliced that to perfection. If you want a Food Processer with power and a lot of options with the included blade assortment this Breville is for you. Also the Blade and accessory storage container holds everything nice and tight. And to save room the container can stand upright. Easy cleanup and this Processer includes a smaller bowl for the occasional small job. Very glad I purchased this as I can see this will be my last Food Processer because it is Heavy Duty and well made with a great warranty. Thanks again Breville and Bed, Bath & Beyond.
