My mother-in-law has one of these and LOVES it! I grew quite fond of hers and asked for one for my birthday. I was so excited when I received it that I ran out to the store to buy brand new batteries. I got home, put the batteries in, and... nothing. No light, no sound, no screw turn, nothing. I popped the batteries out to check the fit and to be sure they were in properly. Sure enough, but hey, what do I know. I even exchanged the batteries out for another set of new ones. Again, nothing. I'm so upset because my mother-in-law just loves hers. I'm thinking there must have been a bad bunch made or something. Hopefully the manufacturer figures out the problem. I'll be returning mine to BB&B and picking up a different brand for fear of getting another lemon. :(

Received this wine opener as a gift. Thought is was going to be a great tool. However, it is useless, it does not work. Changed the batteries that did not help. Would not recommend purchasing this item!

I have had this wine bottler opener for over a year now. It works every time and I haven't had to replace batteries. Batteries are a bit tough to get in but if you use a flat knife or something like that it helps. Bought for three friends this Christmas and they asked where I got them so they can buy for friends as well!

Never had a problem with this product. Opens every wine bottle w/o the slightest problem-even when placed at an angle. I have had this product for about a year now, and did not need to change batteries yet-and I use it a few times a week. This will definitely be a Christmas present for someone this yr!

Batteries Problems

I really wanted to like this product. I bought one and could not get the AA batteries to fit at all, after several attempts. I thought perhaps I had a defective one, and exchanged it for another one. I was able to get the batteries to fit this time, (though it was still a really tight fit) but the opener still didn't work. No response at all. The batteries were new. Don't know whether it's a design defect or poor quality control but this definately needs to be addressed.

After seeing a rechargeable wine opener at my local wine bar, I decided to get one. I chose this because it uses replaceable batteries. I purchased a total of 3. One for me and two as gifts. All users love the opener. It works as advertised. I will be purchasing another to leave in my camper.

Wow, we love this! Got it as a gift and now gifting to several others for Xmas. Beware: READ the instructions on how to use and you will love it too. I have never been strong enought to open wine bottles w/other devices, and this product is the most simple, easy & quick way to get a wine bottle opened. It cuts the foil, simply pops the cork and you're drinking wine in less than 1 min. Best of anything out there since it runs on batteries & no plug. Fabulous!!!
