I purchased this pillow in February 2013. During the first few uses it was fantastic and I loved laying my head on it each night. However after having to wash the pillow case a few times in the washer machine the fluff inside the pillow would make it very hard to re-fluff again thus leaving lumps inside the case once the memory foam pillow was re inserted,

A few days ago, I decided to throw out the pillow case and instead put the memory foam inside a standard pillow. This works ok however, I need to stack it on top of another pillow to get the height I need, as I'm a side sleeper. I would not recommend this pillow.

The first and only night I slept on it, it was ok at first, then the longer I had my head on it the harder it became after 4 hours I felt a rock would have been softer. I through that pillow across the room. My daughter tried it the next night. I asked her how she liked it...back to the store it goes...today!

I just bought a new mattress and my old pillows were either too hard or too soft. Went to the local BB&B and saw the Brookstone Biosense classic pillow and put the pillow on the floor and laid on it for about 3 minutes. I decided to buy two of these and used one of them last night. Woke up this morning with no shoulder or neck pain and I didn't have to flip numerous pillows around to try to get a good night sleep. The pillow keeps its shape and and supports the neck and shoulders perfectly. Best pillow ever!

This pillow has changed my LIFE! Now, I am not the normal sore neck kinda person. I had a brain and neck surgery 3 years ago which leaves me with a sore and tired neck all the time. I used to use 4 pillows from my mid back - up to my head to create a kind of cradle for my neck and head and to build my own support. Then a pillow behind my knees and one on each side to support my arms. SO, that is 7 PILLOWS for one person!!!!
I saw this pillow at Brookstone and thought how neat, the contour cut-out for side sleepers. I prefer to sleep on my side I always have. Well, the Bio Sense pillow now allows me to do so!
I find it very supportive and very soft. I do sleep on my side and my arm will go under the pillow, but not under the memory foam part but under the side where there is no memory foam, to me it is not for extra support, it is just that is where my arm belongs. I used to have my arm under a traditional pillow to give added support to my head and neck, not anymore.
I also find this pillow to give good support to my shoulders when I do sleep on my back.
I purchased the pillow about 6 weeks ago have not looked back. I will buy this pillow again and again; I will pay $59.99 for this kind of sleep!
The only down fall is that they do not make an additional pillow case to put the pillow in, it will fit inside a king size pillow case but that takes away the contour of the pillow and the soft feel of the outer shell that to me really makes all the difference in the world.
It also washes very easy and the cover does not get all balled up and out of shape in the washing machine.
Now, I have bought pillows with memory foam cores before, and they came no wear close to this pillow. I have also purchased all the big name brands, Ralph Lauren, Nautica, Martha Stewart Puff ball pillows - This Brookstone BioSense Memory Foam Shoulder Pillow is the greatest pillow I have ever purchased.
Now I sleep with only 2 pillows, one under my head and one behind my knees. AmAzInG!!!!!!
I talk about this pillow as if I am a paid spokesperson and I AM NOT! I am just so happy to have found this pillow! I love it!!!

I purchased this item on Saturday, March 9th at a local BB&B after pulling up BB&B website and researching pillows. Before purchase I read through previous buyers reviews in which some were good reviews, some not so good. I have been suffering from a sore neck and shoulders for about 3 wks now and had recently visited a chiropractor for a simple adjustment. After adjustment it helped but thought why keep forking out money to a chiro if I can sort of help myself a little and try better pillow(s) first and then go to a chiro if still not better. So, I went ahead and forked out the $59. minus the 20% store coupon and bought 1 pillow. After purchasing the one that is for side-sleeper I tried it that Saturday night. I slept ok but noticed I woke several times in mid-early morning soaked in sweat. That kept waking me up with being uncomfortable. I had previously read before buying that a few people had noted that the pillow did make them sweat or it was hard to roll over and sleep on back. This pillow does give support and right angle if you do not mind the sweating but if you occassionally want to roll over on your back it is uncomfortable at the base of neck there is no give to it. This pillow is hard, and some say that eventually it breaks in, but I went ahead and decided to return it the following day to BB&B and for the price I paid for 1 pillow I exchanged this pillow and chose to buy 2 Lauren Ashley pillows extra firm at $14.99 with a 20% coupon. And got $25 back. The memory foam in the Brookstone pillow does not make impresssion like it shows in video you can mash it in for a second but then it bounces right back. But the pillow cover is nice and soft. I would recommend however if you choose this pillow and it works for you to definitely put a pillow case on it. One other thing I noticed about the video and the picture on the front of the box is that each person who models this pillow and lays down on it winds up putting their hand or arm under the pillow. That tells me that you'd need extra support not just for comfortable laying. When I slept on this pillow for the first night I found myself doing the same thing and not because from remembering the way the picture shows, but by natural reaction. I would give this pillow a "ok" but for $59 it should be perfect. I will keep my 2 Lauren Ashley's and see how they go last night I slept well and had good colorful dreams and actually felt rested when i woke this morning with good RIM sleep. Neck is still a little sore but I would say it is just from the after affect for adjustment at chiro each day is getting better and is alot better than where it was weeks before.

I have loved this pillow from the very first night I used it. The "Better Than Down" cover is so smooth that I almost hate to put a pillow case on it. Alas, it is still just as comfortable to lay on with the pillow case. The curved design in the front is new for me, but it seems to be just what I needed. I have been able to lessen my trips to the Chiropractor and no longer wake up in pain. Furthermore, I do not spend half of my day trying to rub out my tight shoulders anymore. If it's possible to be in love with a pillow, I am :) The only bad thing is that I still don't want to get out of bed in the morning... Before this pillow I didn't want to get up because I didn't feel rested, but now even though I wake up refreshed it's just so nice to snuggle!

I purchased this same pillow as gifts for my son in law and daughter for Christmas and they loved it right away, at least my daughter did. my husband gave me one for Christmas as well and it took me a little longer to love it, but once i broke it in, i do love it. it took 3 weeks for me to break it in and now i only use that pillow, instead of 3 at once.

I have tried so many different types of pillows. I have lower back pain and neck pain because of being a side sleeper. I am only 5'1" and 100 lbs so it is hard to find something that will work for my frame size. My husband enjoys TempuPedic, but for me, it's too hard. This is still firm, but the cut out for the should and the softer type of foam, make it perfect. I used it last night and woke up feeling rested with no neck pain at all. I give it 5 stars, but the only thing I noticed that I hopefully will get used to is the heat it causes when I sleep. It is a hot pillow but worth possibly sweating to be able to be a comfortable side sleeper. I have been told that with these types of materials, you will eventually get used to it. I did with my mattress, so why not this. Very happy I bought this.

I bought this pillow after looking around a long time. I first hated this pillow. I thought it was too hard, even though it looked like the right height it seemed to thick. However after several weeks of on and off use it has "broken in". Now I can not believe the comfort and rest I get. It is very amazing I thought I purchased expensive pillow that I would never use but now this pillow is excellent! I wake up every morning rested and awake and I even though I have lower back issues I have been waking up with no back pain.

I saw the Brookstone BioSense pillows on display as I walked into a BBB last weekend. After one touch I knew this would provide much more support than my current foam pillow. I read the reviews that mentioned the pillow gave some people headaches and sore earlobes and I was very concerned. I debated for a week but found a 20%-off coupon and bought the pillow a couple of days ago. My first night with it was filled with dreams. I have mild sleep apnea and bought the shoulder pillow hoping it would provide more support to help me breathe better. It did just that. The dreams meant I was getting to the restorative REM sleep stage. The pillow also provides much more support when I read in bed. I’m glad I bought it!

Just bought this pillow yesterday and had a fabulous night's sleep... Unlike most of the other posters, I like my pillow a bit higher and have always had trouble finding one. The memory foam insert gives it just enough firmness and the outer stuffing adds a bit of fluffiness!! I've tried the Temper-Pedic and found it to be too thin for me. This pillow is just PERFECT for me!

I read a couple of other reviews (good and negative) and I must disagree with the person who says that it is because of the pillow case bunches up the pillow that it is too hard. I tried this pillow, my daughter tried this pillow and our 6'2" friend tried it. Both of them sans pillow case. We all hated it! It was too hard for all of us and actually caused some neck strain for my daughter (she is a side sleeper too). Unfortunately we are now stuck with a very expensive "prop up" pillow. At bed time it gets thrown off the bed. I will never buy another Brookstone pillow or bedding product.

Some of my friends would call me crazy for spending this kind of money on a pillow but let me tell you totally worth every penny. Here are the things I love. It's firm so you have support and yes it does sit high but I love love that. I think because it sits high it gives you the support you need. Hello it is called a side sleeper for a reason. People are complaining it is not good for sleeping on your back but the pillow is not made for that. BEST PILLOW EVER!!!!!!

Just like all the other negative reviews for this pillow, the foam is too hard and the pillow sits too high. After using it 2 nights, my neck feels worse. It sits so high that when sleeping on my side, my head is at an upward angle and not parallel with my spine. Very uncomfortable. The foam doesn't feel like "memory" foam. It doesn't settle in and conform to my shape like it's supposed to. I'm returning it today and going with my old favorite traditional down/feather pillow style.

Brookstone Side Sleeper Pillow

I love this pillow. I have purchased all types of pillows, but this one is great. I was hesitant after reading reviews, but decided to try it. I think one of the problems that other reviewers mention may be caused by putting the pillow in a too narrow pillow case that dose not allow the pillow to spread out. I originally used just a regular cotton case. When first trying it, it was just to bunched up and hard. However, when I took the pillow case off and it was allowed to spread out, it had a totally different feel and was really comfortable...it was even comfortable when sleeping on my back. So, I returned to BBY and ask if they had a pillow case to fit the pillow and they did not. They said that I could possibly order one, but without seeing it, I decided to look for a pillow case that had stretch to it. I ended up getting the Sheex, sleep like a pro set of pillow cases in standard size and these made a world of difference. Not only did I like the give and stretch but they are also soft and luxurious and fit the Brookstone pillow perfect. I have been sleeping on the pillow with the Sheex pillow case for over a week and I have to say, this is the best pillow I have ever owned. The height is perfect for my head and neck and I have been sleeping so much better without neck pain. So, if you think that the pillows is too hard, take it out of the regular non-stretch cotton and try it with a pillow case that stretches and gives when you lay on it. I almost returned my pillow until I put it in the stretch pillow case...I am so glad that I gave it a second chance. It did make the cost of the pillow a little more, but very well worth it. In addition to the pillow, I like the Sheex pillow cases so much, that I now want to purchase the whole sheet set!

I wish I would have reviewed the reviews on this pillow before I purchased it. I agree with all the other poor reviews. The pillow felt like it would be great at the store but once I got it home and slept on it I was very disappointed. The memory foam in the middle is as hard as a rock and does not form to your head at all. I felt like I was sleeping on 2 or 3 pillow it was so high. This one will be going back!!

I purchased the memory foam shoulder pillow as I have both shoulder and neck problems. The pillow seems comfortable enough for my shoulder, but is terrible for my neck.. The pillow is way too firm and too high and does not seem to "give" at all.
