I'm a bit late with writing my review. I purchased my machine in September 2012. I've read through the the reviews and based on how happy people are, it would seem that the company has improved their battery life on this product. From the beginning, I only got about a 15 minute use out of it and the time descreased every time I used it. When I put it on the charging unit, half the oval light would be on and I just realized that when the unit is fully charged, the whole oval light should be on. I've never had a full oval light. I contacted customer service and was informed that the average battery life is only 9 - 12 months. I asked if that is noted anywhere on their product description and I was told no because it can last longer. I explained that I don't believe it ever charged correctly from the beginning, which I followed the instructions in the booklet, and I was told I was out of luck because there's no warranty coverage on the battery. I only used this vacuum in my kitchen, and not every day, so it's not like I was over using it. It was emptied and cleaned after each use. I have a Shark steam mop, which I love, but I'm very disappointed in this product.

This cordless vacuum is really great. It has good suction and it is convenient. It is the best cordless vacuum I have tried. It works so well that we have purchased 4 of these vacuums.....for our downstairs living area and one for the upstairs living area, one for our vacation home and one for our daughter and son in law for their condo. They love it too. It is also easy to empty the filled canister. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who needs an effective cordless vacuum. I love it!!!

I bought this cordless vac with positive expectations, but I had no idea I would like it as well as I do. I needed a lightweight, inexpensive vacuum cleaner at work for my office suite because our janitorial service is not great. After the initial charge, I tried it out and was amazed at how much dirt it got out of my carpets! In fact, I vacuumed the same space every day for the first week and continued to get lots of dirt each time. This little vacuum is surprisingly powerful! It's easy to use and quiet. I intend to buy a couple more of these to use at home. Because of its size, it'll be great for the basement playroom and bedrooms, etc. I may never carry my big vacuum down the stairs again!

Was just looking for a lightweight vacuum to do the wood floors, but this turned out to be better on the carpets than our full-size vacuum. The suction is great and gets hair off the carpet very efficiently. It's light enough and just the right size to do our carpeted stairs as well. The charge lasts for the whole house, and being cordless makes it much easier to get around. Easy to use with only one real button you press with your foot. I've seen a few people with lemons in these reviews, but the store said they'd guarantee it for a year.

As three months ago to buy this vacum am very happy, it's amazing suction is good, very good battery duration, my floor is tiled Italian. and always kept very clean. I have to fight with no cords to get tangled ... As a load, just put in the charger and not be connecting cords or cables ..., besides the design is beautiful, I like how it looks .. is one of my best purchases lately, in addition to the 20% coupon of Bath and Beyond Bedt pay only $ 80 + tax ... I recommend it to all my friends ..

I own a Miele vacuum that cost $600.00. This Shark Navigator is the best. The convenience of having it sitting on the charger and than No cords when you go from room to room. I have two dogs that shed. I vacuum everyday now with this convenience of not pulling out of the closet the vacuum and attachments.. Even when I don't see the hair on the floor or rugs the canister is always full.after I am done. I would and did tell everyone that it is the best. The suction is unbelievable.. Love the tap of your foot changes floor to carpet.. And love the idea no bags a canister that can be emptied

Loved It Except For Battery & Manager Attitude

Absolutely love this product. Great suction and it doesn't send dirt and fur (with three Golden Retrievers there's a lot of fur) flying out to the sides.

The low profile gets at least a good way under most furniture items. Dust collector takes a fair bit before it needs to be emptied. Removing the dust receptacle, emptying it, and replacing on unit are all very easy.

We have about 2,000sq. ft. of tile and it easily manages that on a charge, as well as getting a couple of low-pile rugs.

Only problem was that the battery stopped charging properly after about six weeks. It would indicate that it was fully charged while on the charger, but turn it on and about five seconds later it was flashing low charge. I did check that there were no blockages or fur wrapped around the beater bar. By the way, it's very easy to disassemble enough to check for, and clear, blockages.

We took it back to BB&B. they didn't have a replacement in stock but ordered one to be shipped directly to our home, no shipping charge.

One of the managers was rather abrupt and seemed to almost doubt the problem, but they did accept the return. The unit was in near sparkly new condition because I had cleaned out all the filters, receptacles, hoses in an effort to get it working properly; and I had wiped down the exterior. We had everything but the original box, even our receipt, so I was surprised to encounter that attitude from a manager when this store is has always very gladly accepted the occasional return that I've made.

I think that the fact that I ordered another Shark Navigator in spite of the problem, speaks well as to my opinion of, and experience with, this make and model. I would still recommend it to friends, unless of course the next one develops problems.

The most bothersome aspect, in spite of now being without a vacuum for up to two weeks, was that manager's attitude towards the issue. I should not be made to feel that I'm being begrudgingly allowed to get away with something dishonest when all I'm doing is returning/replacing a $100 item that failed within six weeks of purchase.

I have purchased many small vacuums to do light vacuuming in the kitchen, hallways, bathrooms and carpets and most don't keep their charge long enough to clean two rooms or they stop charging. First, the ease of charging this vacuum is fantastic. You just place it in the charger you don't have to look for the cord to plug into the vacuum. Second, it cleans very well and it is also easy to empty. So far it keeps its charge for a very long time to clean tile and carpet in several rooms. I have vacuumed 5 rooms in a row and the unit still keeps going. It has great suction but this is a light surface vacuum, I use a heavy duty vacuum for deep cleaning my carpets.

This is absolutely the best vacuum I have ever used!! You can keep your Kirby, those things are so heavy and hard to push around, plus this is cordless and lightweight (almost) a pleasure to vacuum :) It charges up quickly and lasts several uses before needing to be recharged and I have a huge livingroom of carpeting! Plus works great on the hardwood floor too, with two settings one for each type of floor and a touch of your foot to change settings you can go room to room amazingly fast. Have I convinced you yet? lol Its a no brainer really!

I can't say enough good things about this vaccum!! I've had it for almost two weeks, and I have vacuumed my house about 6 times! I LOVE to vacuum now because it's so easy and convenient! No bag, no cord. It's so nice. I tell my husband 'I love my purchase' every time I bring it out. The charge is good for as long as I need it (1330sq ft). I use it on my kitchen floors- sometimes twice just for kicks. My hubby and I can't believe how much dirt I vacuum. I am so happy with this vacuum, I could sell it!!!

I did so much research on cordless vacs and it took me like a month to decide! I am so glad I went with this one! I have all hardwood floors in my house, a husband who works construction, and a brand new puppy so needless to say my floors are always dirty! I have had this for about a month now and love it! I use it daily and am able to walk around barefoot! Suction is great, it stands up by itself, its swivel head is great, good battery life, easy to use! It picks up all of my hair, dog hair, and dirt! I can vacuum my whole house (over 1500 sq ft, 3 bed 2 bath) in about 10 mins and its actually kind of fun! Only con, which I have read from other reviews too, is that the on/off button is on the head of the vacuum so when trying to get under the bed or couch I hit it sometimes and it shuts off. But thats no biggy for the price and quality of the machine. And if you wait to buy this when BB&B sends out their 25% off coupons, this is the cheapest place to buy it that I have seen. Very happy lady :)

I am over 50 years old and have never provided a review of a product before. Never felt that impressed or unimpressed with one. I purchased the Navigator Freestyle Shark vacuum one month ago at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It is the BEST vacuum I have ever used or owned. So light, no cord in the way, unbelievable ability to get all dog hair up. Being able to open the canister from both ends allows you to wash it out after using and air dry. Same with the filter, run under water and air dry. No more nasty vacuum smell. I really love it and don't even mind vacuuming now. Highly recommend. I purchased with a 20% off coupon -- best $80 I ever spent.
