Krups junk

I had been a loyal and happy Krup consumer for decades. I stated with the "old" 10 cup, basic coffee machine. Over the years we bought Krup's products for most gift giving events. No longer. The last device I bought, coffee maker, self destroyed after a few uses, haven given my wife an electrical shock. Got no response from company upon complaint. The store where purchased kindly replaced it. Same situation with replacement.. No response, threw it in the trash. May I say that when Krups products were made in Germany and Ireland, they were great products. The only word for their current product quality is, "China."

Terrible Customer Service!

My wife and I have had Krups coffee makers for 35 years and liked them very much, the only brand we've used. The latest which is less that a year old went out on us after only a few months. We sent it back for repairs which were done in about a week which was fine. It quit working again after only 6 weeks or so. This time when we sent it back after waiting a week with no response we called. Talked to two very indifferent customer reps who told us we would need to wait 4-6 weeks. When we registered our dissatisfaction they said "sorry you feel that way" and that was it. We're done with Krups!!! Terrible customer service and apparently not a very good product anymore, the two often go together. Will buy a new coffee maker today but never again a Krups, what a stupid business philosophy, especially with folks that like their coffee in the morning.

Good Product, except...

I just bought this yesterday, so I can't testify to its durability quite yet. I had a Krups prior to this one that I liked in every way except it was not user-friendly in terms of programming it to automatically brew. This one is much easier. HOWEVER, a major design flaw is the clock. It is not backlit and in order for me to see it to program it, or just to see what time it is, I have to shade my eyes and put on my reading glasses. I wonder why the manufacturers would go to the trouble to include a clock only to have it be practically invisible.

A Waste of Money

We received this coffee machine as a Christmas gift and within 90 days the light comes on but it will not drip hot water through the system. There is nothing worse than getting up in the morning expecting a hot cup of coffee and finding you have an expensive counter top decoration. Do not waste your money on this cheap import passed off as a quality product.

Krups went Kaput after 6 weeks

I have been using Krups coffee post for the past 25 years and have always gotten about 8 years out of each machine. They make a nice cup of coffee and I like how hot it keeps the coffee. This latest one worked for 6 weeks and then died. I don't know if they have moved their manufacturing or what, but I am hesitant to buy another.

Got this before reviews were out . Stopped working after 4 weeks. They sent me a new one. It stopped after 4 uses. Basically the same insides as a Cuisinart that failed me earlier, that most people threw out. I'll throw this out too. Waste of money.

Good except for one major flaw

I owned the previous version of this coffee maker and used it happily for 6 years until it started having some issues. I bought this newer model and after using it a few times have realized that there is a flaw with the design which has made me return it. The water compartment opening is way too small (part on the top where you pour in the water). The previous model had a much larger opening. This one is very narrow to the point that any slight movement of your arm while you are pouring in the water will result in water being spilled outside the coffee maker. I don't want to have to worry about precise pouring technique first thing in the morning when I am barely awake! If that doesn't bother you then this is a very nice coffee maker. I like the stainless steel finish and the carafe is nice and sturdy. Also the clock and automatic timer were easy to figure out (didn't even need to read the directions). It has an "Aroma" button which means it will make the water drip slower thus making the coffee stronger. Note: when you pour in 6 cups of water into the container it results in 5 cups of brewed coffee due to absorption of water into the filter and coffee grinds. So I'd recommend it if you don't care about the water compartment issue.
