I bought this because the description clearly says it can be used for iPhone but it does not have a dock to use for the new iPhone 5!! I will be returning this.

Awesome Buy!

I purchased this product because it was lighter and cheaper than most of the other brands - plus it also included the nature sounds which I use to help fall asleep. The sound quality could be better but for a small radio it works well. I love the gradual wake feature for the alarm - it starts at a low volume and gradually gets louder. I've never had a problem with it being too loud when it starts. It does not work with my iPad case - so instead I just use the dock to charge my iPhone and hook up my USB charger on the back to charge my iPad and it works well. The radio antenna could be a bit better but it picks up most of the radio stations I like to listen to.
Pros: Lightweight, dual charging ports (dock and USB), more features than comparable systems, easy to program, sufficient sound at lower volumes, sleep mode.
Cons: Does not work with iPad cases, antenna, sound is a bit muffled at high volumes, power button is bright at night, no app that comes with it like iHome systems.
Overall I love this system. I think it's a great alternative to the more expensive systems and has more features. Not to mention, a family member played with mine and requested one for Christmas. Happy shopping and hope my review helped!

Good product.

Fair product. Has minor bugs such as: Distortion at high level, unresponsive buttons at times, and EXTREMELY BAD antenna reception for radio etc. Quality is fair. When i looked at the box i thought it would be a whole neon tube that lit up. I was disappointed when i opened the box and found 2 small led's. The alarm is a little surprising the first few nights out of the box because for some reason it is VERY loud. My main problem is the difficulty with setting up the time. I sometimes trip over the cables in the morning and it gets disconnected it resets for some reason and i have trouble setting up the time and alarm again. Fairly good product for the price they are asking for but again there is not much economic difference between a good quality 60 dollar alarm clock that actually looks good. This product is NOT worth your money.

this devise has a very strong sound its compact enough so that its not humongous and the radio works great.
CONS: the light on the bottom is not good whats so ever and the base could be better.
But it is worth the money and i like it!

Some good features, but 1 big problem breaks deal

This seemed to be a good value in comparison to similar clocks in the same price range. Sound is decent, although there is some bass distortion at reasonable volumes. But it puts out well for a small box.//
It programs fairly easily, though the auto clock set feature can't be reset unless you unplug it and remove the battery (I accidentally hit the manual clock set while setting the alarm, and it wouldn't revert to auto; no big deal). Charges my iPod well. Sort of a pain to program and recall saved radio stations: if you are on preset #2 you have to scroll through 20 presets to get back to #1. That's just dumb. //
Overall the construction quality feels cheap: buttons are cheap and wiggly, and the cloth cover over the speakers is loose and will probably rumple over time. //
I could live with that, but the main reason I will be returning it is the so-called "gradual" wake feature. It starts at a preset level, let's say 15, and increases quickly from there. I listen to music on this at about 14 during normal hours (unless I want to party I suppose), and at 8 for waking up. The house is quieter at 5 AM right? This starts at such a high level and increases so quickly I have to jump out of bed about 10 seconds after it goes off before it wakes the whole house (I keep the clock across the room, otherwise I would be hitting snooze all morning!). I've never let it go the whole 2 minutes, but another review suggested it gets really loud. I think the max volume is 30, so for it to start at half that is ridiculous. I was expecting it would start BELOW the volume I set it at, and THEN increase, but no. //
I called the company and she said that's how it's designed. BAD DESIGN.

It'll do

This one was half the price of the iHome one and had similar features so I decided to give it a try. I was excited to dock my iPad since I often read at night and forget to charge it in the morning. However, I have an iPad v1 with an Apple case and this dock does not support iPads IN CASES like the iHome ones do (it seemed to charge fine when I took it out of the case; not sure if the slimmer iPad v2s would dock in their cases). I agree with a reviewer that the gradual wake feature is annoying for those of us who like to wake and then listen to the radio. I have to "double click" (once to turn off the alarm, and again to turn the radio back on) but I think I'll get used to that (as I would have to get used to any new alarm clock). Although it's brighter than I like, even on the dimmest setting, I like that you can turn the display off and touch the snooze to turn it on if you want to see the time. It's sometimes hard to read the display (when it's on), depending on your angle and I wish the numbers were bigger, but it'll do. I haven't tried the video hookup yet, but I like the idea of hooking up my iPhone or iPad to the TV (although not if the sound only comes from the device-TBD). I like the added features of the colored lights and the nature sounds (with sleep timer). The sound quality is fine- nothing too special.

Love the HMDX Unwind Bedside Alarm Clock. It is everything in one! I was able to free-up some nightstand room and power outlets buy purchasing this product. My iphone 4 charges perfectly while I listen to the natural sounds and drift to sleep. I only wish the "rain" sound was more natural sounding! The sound quality is good...not great...but good enough for music to get ready to in the AM. I like the overall style of the alarm clock and the remote is handy.

This would have been lovely except that it doesn't charge the iPad. I just woke up to an iPad with a battery level of 2%, after it had theoretically been charging on this clock for over 6 hours. What's the use? If it doesn't charge my iPad, I might as well have kept my old alarm clock.

I love that I can choose from several options for my alarm clock to wake me up. I love the nature sounds as well. I go to sleep to the sound of the waves hitting the beach and wake up to my ipod. I love the sleep timer because it allows me to go to sleep to the nature sounds, but I don't hear it all night. Great clock.

Where's my brick?

Great sound, lots of features, but not usable as an alarm clock. The Gradual Wake feature is the culprit. When the alarm goes off (beep, radio, iPod or Nature; doesn't matter), the volume starts low, then gradually increases. And INcreases. And INCREASES. After about two minutes, it's so painfully loud you want to throw a brick at it. And you can't just turn the volume down. When the alarm turns the machine on, any button except snooze turns it off. That's another feature. So the only way to wake to the radio and then listen for a while is to turn off the alarm, then turn on the radio. Not for me, thanks.
