You won't find a better rug at this price. It's nice and shaggy with a rich color. Has a soft feel. Great for kids and my cat loves it!! LOL I have looked and this is the best deal out there. It was out of stock, just wait for it to come in. I only waited a week. I bought a non-slip rug pad so I could put it on my hard wood floor. But you might not need one. The back is a soft material, not rough. But it helps for slipping.

After buying rugs from Pottery Barn for years I didn't expect much from this humbly priced rug. I just needed one fast for my new place in San Francisco and am on a limited budget furnishing an entire apartment at once.
This shag rug exceeded all of my expectations. It is thick, soft and decadent to step on. The one it replaced was jute and oh so hard.
As with most all area rugs it had to have a rug pad. I always wonder why that surprises other reviewers of rugs? You wouldn't put down wall to wall carpet without padding so why would you put an area rug on a bare floor without it? I bought the premium rug pad (adds even more cushioning) and now my bedroom is soft on my feet and it looks very elegant on the hardwood floor. I am ordering the larger one for my living room. The price is just one of the pleasant things about this beautiful, cozy rug! I highly recommend. Oh and the shipping was FAST,
