I got this for my husband for fathers day - he had been "strongly" hinting for months he wanted it. It is amazing. It works perfectly and makes perfect soda! I like some favors better than others but can't get over how good it is. I bought extra bottles to keep cold water inthe fridge so I can always make it. My kids live it too and it's so easy my 9year o,d can use it. (within reason haha). Highly recommend.

I love Sodastream products. I have bought five of the different models and given them to my family for gifts. I currently own this model and it is easy to use but the reset button doesn't already work and the Fizz meter is worthless. Buy the $ 99 model it works just as well and you don't need the extra features this model has that do not work anyway. Enjoy the fresh sode my family sure does.

Bought the Fizz machine online for hubby for Christmas a few months ago and we love it. Makes healthier soda drinks right on the spot. I purchased this as a gift for friends. I was disappointed that I could no longer purchase the Penguin, as we use ours many times daily. The only complaint they have had is that the new "Fizz" doesn't seem to make the water as fizzy as our Penguin with glass bottles does. Overall, however, it is well worth the money and makes great sparkling water. I love that I never have to lug bottled water from the store anymore. We never use the flavorings.

I mostly like the soda maker. I bought one of the original models, then gave it to a friend and upgraded to the "Fizz" because it will use the larger co2 bottle which is what attracted me to this machine. I also bought one for my daughter and her husband for Christmas and they seem to like it very much. The basic functionality has worked flawlessly. The only con I have against the machine is the fizz chip. It did not show how much I was carbonating until the carbonater was 3/4 empty. Also, the meter showing much co2 is left in the carbonater always shows full even when it is empty. I just put my first larger size carbonator in so we'll see how the fizz chip works with it. I love the ability to have 3 different flavors at all times (I bought 2 extra bottles). I don't make any soda, but I love every flavor I have bought of the "Sparkling Natural" flavors. I also enjoy adding Koolaid to a carbonated water bottle. So, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the chip. Jury is still out on that.

One of our friends own the original model & so we got to see how it works and tastes. We decided to "splurge" for this model since it was supposed to have a gauge to keep track of the CO2 level so we'd know when it was time to order a new one. Well, while the machine functions and makes the soda, the gauge does not work at all and therefore it's not worth the extra $50. Apparently, a LOT of other people have had this same issues as listed on Amazon so we'll be returning this one for a cheaper model. We still love the idea though!

I purchased plain seltzer water in bottles from the grocery store for years. I do not like flavored seltzer water. Just give me plain carbonated water--nothing else. However, so many times when I went to purchase it at the store, the plain seltzer water was sold out. It was frustrating too frequently. When I found out about SodaStream, I immediately went on a quest to check it out. Most all the reviews I read were very positive. So, there was no twisting my arm; I was willing to try it. I couldn't be happier. I was a little nervous at first about actually doing the carbonating process, but with my husband's presence there, we DID IT and, now, I'm happily doing it on my own and enjoying every single bubble!!! BB&B has a great CO2 cartridge exchange program, too. And, the cartridges last a good amount of time--for me anyway. What an excellent decision this was!!!

My family of 3 consumes 10-12 bottles of seltzer and/or sparkling mineral water a week. However, few bottled waters taste as good as NYC tap water. The Fizz allows us to make our own sparkling water, and instead of recycling hundreds of plastic bottles a year, we re-use SodaStream bottles that last for a year or more before requiring replacement. The Fizz gauge allows us to calibrate carbonation ranging from the gassiest mineral waters, like Gerolsteiner, to the more delicately carbonated waters, like Pelligrino.
Another advantage provided by Fizz is that it reduced the enormous carbon footprint belonging to soda and bottled water. Water weighs 8.5 lbs a gallon and the environmental cost for transporting beverages is quite high. City water systems use gravity, which is free and non-polluting.
Furthermore, you can make chemical free carbonated beverages to protect your health and sweeten to taste by combining with your favorite juices and teas.
All in all, I'd say that Fizz is a great investment in environmental protection and your family's health.
