Cleaning time poor

I expected longer than a 15 minute run time per charge (5 minutes on max) on this product; at the very least it should be mentioned in the description. Worked fine , just not long enough. This product is not up to my expectations of a Dyson.

This is a great vacuum for a person who likes to sweep every day. I have a pug who sheds heavy, it is great for dog hair. I've owned many similar vacuums but this is just better in every way. We have radiators that are hard to clean and the crevice tool fits in between, also I use it to edge clean before I get my big vac out...perfect!

Dyson cordless vacuum DC 35

I just love having the convience of not using a cord or hanging a small vacuum from a strap off my shoulder. It sucks up very well and I use it all the time. It is not meant to take the place of a long running vacuum so I use it to pick up dogs hairs, cat hair and other small things and it easily gets the job done
I do think the recharging part could have been a little better designed though..

I just purchased the Dyson 35 hand held vacuum. If I could sing I'd sing a song about how I LOVE IT!! I am a senior citizen and I have a problem bending. This vacuum with it's extended handle gets under furniture easily, has great suction for all those dog hairs that matt all over the house, gets into tight spaces and even fits between the commode and wall!! My husband said I'm like a kid with a new toy because I use it all the time and no bending!!! I use it for all my wood floors and stairs and it's a breeze. When I'm finished vacuuming I'm not holding an aching back. Whoever made this must had had people like me in mind! Whoever you are, THANK YOU!!! Katy

With hardwood floors and dogs...no more chasing dust bunnies. You won't believe what this little thing gets up in such a short time and I can normally do my whole house on one charge.

FIRST REVIEW: Dyson Digital Slim DC 44 Animal

I just purchased Dyson's newest hand-held vacuum from Bed Bath & Beyond... why it's so new that even Dyson is not selling it online as of yet. In the past I purchased other rechargeable hand-held vacuums but this time I was looking for one that had "tools" for doing multiple-task cleaning jobs. I was impressed with the reviews for the Dyson DC 35 and learned there was an even newer and more powerful model. The cost was the only thing holding me back, but then I thought it might be worth it; especially if it does what it's supposed to do and in the long run it could save me money if it's made well and stands the test of time.
Truly, I am amazed at this little vacuum and I can honestly say that it is MUCH MORE than I expected! Just the first sweep across my hard-wood floors and area rugs had me convinced I purchased a winner. It is totally user-friendly and even seems to "assist" like a self-propelled lawnmower. This won't cut the grass but it will give bundles of debris that is easily disposed of with the touch of a button over the garbage can. I wanted to clean everything "in sight" (and out of sight which I did with the crevice tool and other attachments). Seat cushions, baseboards, door frames, windowsills and even the filter for our window air-conditioning unit were all cleaned lickety-split! I really didn't think there was that much dirt in the house but as it is said, "the proof is in the pudding"... to my delight, I emptied the dust bin several times. It is very windy here and we get a lot of fine sand and debris that blows indoors through the door frames and windows. All of this suctioned easily and thoroughly and I was surprised that none of this blew back inside through the motor as has happened with all the other hand-held vacuums I've had. Hoping others can have the same joyful cleaning experience and be completely satisfied. May God bless the engineers who created this little "DC 44 Animal". A stroke of genius and a rare species indeed!!!

Best Vacuum ever!

This vacuum is by far the best one I own. I currently have two electrolux canister vacuums which are a pain and constantly hit and knick the baseboards and walls and a larger full size Dyson (which I don't care for) but was given this one as a gift BECAUSE one of my biggest complaints of the larger Dysons are that they do NOT go under any furniture because the big ball is to large. Well - this little lightweight cordless Dyson is PERFECTION in a vacuum. It picks up anything and everything on any hard service - is perfect for stairs and vehicles etc and is the best vacuum to allow your children to vacuum their own rooms without hassling with a large base or one that is too heavy. Simple to manuver, easy to empty and holds a charge for a good length of time. Could the length of charge be longer - sure. BUT most cordless items like this don't last much longer and you have the choice of regular or MAX suction depending on what your using it for. Excellent for cleaning up after pets, along the baseboards, under ANY furniture even low profile stuff and especially picking up after children's crafts (like beads and such) The best vacuum for stairs that we've had. Worth it's purchase for sure! Not the best on carpet ...but for all it's other great points still worth the price. And honestly, unlike other reviews posted here, who on earth would buy a vacuum like this to do carpet floors? You can tell by looking at it that it's not doing to do what a regular full size vacuum would do. It's for quick and easy clean ups before company stops in and for picking up all the tiny messes around the house.

I was taken by the hype of how much better the suction is on this brand, my Dirt Devil stick picks up better. Forget use on area rugs it just pushes things around. If you're purchasing to keep upstairs as I did, forget it. It only runs for 15 minutes on a charge and only 7 minutes if you use it on high which is the only way you're going to pick up anything. So right in the middle of the job you'll have to stop and wait for a recharge.

Big Let Down

I purchased this model to clean my mostly tile & wood floors. We have both dogs and cats and accumulate quite a bit of hair. I originally loved how lightweight it is the ease of use, attachments, storage, sucking power and ease to empty container.
My BIG issue is that this vacuum doesn't always work. There seems to be a flaw where the power supply connects to the handle, causing the power to fluctuate or just not work. Dyson is having a problem with this part apparently as I have been waiting for over six weeks for the back ordered part to be available. Looks like I will have to keep waiting because the part is still not available. Meanwhile I have a vacuum that just wont work at all now and find that after $300 and owning it for just over two months I will need to purchase a new vacuum.
Quite Disappointing.

After reading some of the reviews regarding the battery life I was a bit skepticle, however I have not found this to be a problem. I have a lot of stairs including a spiral staircase which were difficult with my Dyson ball, this has dramatically helped with cleaning. Also, the ball could not go under furniture and this little unit makes it a snap. Love it!!

Go out right away and purchase this Dyson cordless, I know you will not be sorry! It works like a charm, it is lightweight and easy to get under tight spaces. The charger-holder is perfect.....easy to put on and take off. I know some people did not like the fact that you have to hold down the button to keep it going, but I think that is great because it makes it easy to go from one place to another with just letting go of the button. Dyson, thank you for coming out with yet another great product.

I love, love. love this cordless vac. It is lightweight and I can zip around my house in no time! I have a German Shepard that sheds like crazy. I can whip this out so easily and suck up all the hair with no problem. It also goes under furniture much more easily than the regular vac. It won't replace my full size dyson but I use it all the time for quick pick ups. Keeps the house tidy!

The Dyson DC 35 does everything the advertisements clam. I use it for vents steps and floor and all the places my upright will not reach this vacuum is light weight having problems with Arthritis it is great to be able to sit on my steps and clean them. I like it more than my other expense brand. I just wish the power button did not have to be held at all time while cleaning. Other than the button not locking this vacuum is great for cleaning.

Will Not Work

I do not recommend this product, for it did not work out of the box. The customer service was not open so I worked for several hours troubleshooting. There are little to no troubleshooting pointers in the instructions manual if you can call it that. It should be simple, but it is not. I later find out from the CSR that you have to engage a lever on the inside with the filter. She kep telling me to push the device as hard as I could. I could get it to work when I was manually engaging the device but never got to the unit to work on it's own (with the filter returned to it's appropriate slot. I expected to buy a high end piece of equipment and could not be more frustrated. I plan to return to BBY immediately.

I just bought a Dyson DC 35 Multi Floor Cordless Vacuum Cleaner and after a short charge I used it on a carpet with dog hair on it. It worked floorlessly just as I expected it to. You see this new vacuume is not my 1st Dayson, I also have a DC 25 for a year now and it works just today just like it did out of the box. Thats why I bought this DC 35 I know it will do the job better than any other cordless I have oened in the past. Just love this DC 35 and would recomend it to all...

I must have a defective unit. It doesn't pickup any better than a cheap $14 swiffer vac and I'd venture to say the swiffer vac is better and lasted a year before it broke. This Dyson spits what it picks up back out and now on the low setting after being fully charged - the motor sputtered and died after 2 minutes (maybe not that long). I have had it a week and used it 5x...I empty the cannister after every use even though only once was there enough to really require emptying. I have tried cleaning the roller 2x, and have double checked that it is getting charged (according to all the light indicators it is). I'm hoping to return it - not impressed.

Not usually one to...

I am a mother of a 14 month old, a golden, jack Russell and husband. With that said I need my floors cleaned DAILY. I bought this vacuum when my $60 corded stick vacuums head fell off. I was extremely excited to be up grading. I have had this Dyson for a total of 2 weeks and I have now resorted to taping the head back on my old vacuum. The batterie last maybe 15 min, it over heats easily, the suction won't even pick up a piece of dog food, the exhaust blows in your face if you are using attachments, the handle is uncomfortable ( granted I have small hands) and if you do not go w the grain of the wood it sounds like you are going over mini speed bumps. I like to do my floors at one time and you can imagine how annoyed I was when I got only the kitchen, dining and half the living room finished. I am now on the hunt for a good vacuum instead of an expensive vacuum. I am not usually the type to write a review but this would have been helpful if I would have read this before purchasing. Not worth $300.

I was so excited to open up and start using the new Dyson DC 35 on my newly remodeled floors. I thought this was going to be the perfect solution for keeping the stairs and hallway clean as well as quick little clean ups.
I carefully followed the instructions and waited for it to charge. To my extreme disappointment the unit did not charge. So I tried again, and again. Took it apart and inspected all the areas just as the instructions advised. Still nothing.
I own a couple of other dyson models and even bought one for my daughter because I love the fact that I haven't had a single issue and that I can clean them so easily.
This one is going back and I will be looking for something else. Must be a lemon, and disappointed that they let it out of the factory without checking it.
So glad I have a back up for the time I am looking for something else.

I really like this machine. It is easy to handle, lightweight, always ready when I need it, and relatively quiet. It is great for small jobs, ie stairs, and quick around the kitchen. The "hold trigger for power" does NOT bother me. This IS a hand-held machine, made for SMALL jobs. I like the no bag feature; just flip the bottom open, dump the contents, close it, and you're ready to go.
