I've owned this product for nearly a year. I've made several salads and stews that turned out perfect. I have purchased other Salad Chefs for family members after they saw what mine could do. they are as impressed as I am. The Salad chef saved alot of time when prepareing meals.. They also make very nice gifts. What some people don't consider is leverage. If you set the Salad Chef at the proper height, it is very easy to use. I can't say enough good about this product......Buy one and enjoy the experience .

This is a GREAT, simple device that has me eating more and more varied salads. Fun to use and FAST. It's also the best French Fry cutter I've ever tried (and I've bought them all...most break on a hard sweet potato, one expensive, industrial quality cutter takes as long to clean and put back together as the fries take to cook!) It even comes with a lid so that after the salad is made you can add dressing and shake it up to evenly disperse the dressing throughout the salad. A winner!

Sometimes the food gets stuck in between the punder and some on the blade it self. Should be $35.00. Doesnt come with salad spinner. Blades are sharp be careful. I like it and use it often makes good salads. Cuts potatoes, squash, onions, peppers, cucumbers, carrots, apples, pears nicely. Wish it came with more blades. The grater was ok.

I was skeptical at first about this product, but my husband convinced me to try it. I'm glad we did! The blades are super sharp and cut through pretty much anything. We have made some fantastic salads in the past couple days that we've had this. The only reason why I didn't give five stars, is that the food you are cutting gets into the top of the press...but you just have to push the button down and wash it off. It's a bit of a two person project because it's hard to maneuver it while pushing down. Otherwise, it's great!!

Used the salad genius for the 1st time. Sure wish there were directions on how to chop each veggie. I ended up with 2 knuckles bleeding and a pulled muscle in my back. It took a lot of force to push down the thing, even after cutting the veggies in smaller portions. Maybe with more experience, the manuvering will be easier. In the end I wondered if just cutting with a knife might still be better. Good luck to other new users!

Love love love this! It takes a few tries to get the hang of it - you kind of have to slam it down. Also, I'm short, so in order to get the leverage I need, sometimes I place it in the sink or on the floor! The only drawback is that I can't seem to find out how to order some other blades... :(

Works great for what one gets

I bought this at BB&B after reading reviews about the horrible customer service others received from the Salad Chef website. Keep in mind that the one bought here at BB&B does not come with the spinner basket. After cutting my ingredients to fit the chopper, I still use my old Faberware spinner to rinse and spin. Otherwise, this product works like a champ. The blades are EXTREMELY sharp.

So:

DO NO BUY FROM THE SALADCHEF WEBSITE.

Keep in mind that the BB&B kit does not have the spinner. (You'll pay big $$$ for spinner accessories from their website.)

The blades are extremely sharp, so be careful.

Hopefully BB&B will consider carrying the accessories for this item.

I seen this on TV but I've had bad experience from ordering off TV. I had read up on this product and found a lot of likes and then dislikes so I was confused on what to think! So, I had heard bed bath & beyond had this item and I thought you know I'm gonna buy it, just to try it out....boy was I floored....OMG I love it, its fast and easy to cut up anything. We eat a lot of fried potatoes with onions. My other half cuts up onions by hand and crys like a baby and boy theirs no crying here and no wasted time. It's amazingly fast and easy to clean up!
I've even had fun making salads and even cutting up different fruits. I'm finding myself eating more salads too! It's also less costly then buy on TV where they stick it too you on shipping! I only wish I could buy extra blades and the 1/4 blade is like too find. I would give this up for nothing! "Fantastic"

AMAZING PRODUCT! I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING! IN MY KITCHEN. I always hated making salad but with the salad chef it is fun!!! It is also very easy to clean and that is a big plus for me!

Its good buy...but not for everthing

I bought this salad chef after watching so impressive on TV but the first day I cut all salads , it didn't do well with bell peppers and my arm was paining . I think it does only good when you cut the thing in stripes then it makes into tiny pieces. So I think it depends that after washing , peeling and striping you would like to make and store pieces ( great only for storing).or worth this cost.
