I am not too sure this should be called a cat toy. My energetic dogs tramples the cat so she can play with the laser. The light is very bright and it moves into many directions. This unit does all the work so the owner doesnt tire out their hands with a laser pointer. So far we have not had any issues and if you animal loves to chase lights, this is the toy for them!

Real stalking and excitement when this is activated. My 2 cats have to have at least 2 15 min. rounds. Only trouble is they tend to knock it over. Glue velcro to bottom so it sticks to carpet.

We got this toy for our 2 cats for Christmas, and it is the best present we ever bought them!! Watching the 2 of them chase the laser around the room is the cutest thing ever. Our cats just can't get enough of it. Not only is it something fun for them to do, it is great exercise for them as well. Watching them chase the laser around the room makes me want to chase it with them..LOL.. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone that has a cat. And from what I hear, dogs love it too.

This thing is great for keeping my 9 month old kitten occupied. There are a couple settings (manual and 15 minute automatic) so I like that it will turn itself off after 15 if I get distracted while it's on. It's perfect for getting some of her energy out before bedtime and she really does wear herself out with it. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the noise. Nothing unbearable but let's just say you wouldn't want it right next to you if you are on the phone or watching television. The cat hasn't seemed to have noticed it so it doesnt really take away from her playing with it.

I was really excited about this purchase, after I saw it in a circular on sale. I thought it'd be the perfect gift for my Mr. Milo, as he was getting bored with his toys, and this one was unique in that I didn't have to do anything to keep him occupied.

The first thing I noticed once I got the Bolt home and turned it on [keep in mind you need 4 double-A batteries, they are not supplied] was how loud it was. I don't know why I expected it to be quiet, but it was loud. For being made so cheaply [very light and plastic] it emitted an unusual amount of noise.

The laser setting was pretty cool. I liked that it would go for 15 minutes and stop on its own. That way I could set it and forget it while my cat was occupied. The problem was with the noise; my cat would start wondering what the apparatus was and why it was so loud, and end up playing with the thing itself instead of the laser.

But that was still okay, I put it up high on a shelf and had it shine down in my living room. That eliminated that problem.

KEY HERE: Next day, I went to turn it on [day two of ownership], and the [loud] motor ran but no laser light was emitted. So the laser died second day. Great. I called the their customer service number and was told I would have to return it to the store for an exchange, and that I had a bad product [and through reading reviews a lot of people have had this happen to them.] I was kind of upset, my nearest Bed Bath and Beyond is about 25 minutes away, and I just went the day before. That was fine. Instead of jumping out of my seat and going, I e-mailed customer service as well. They replied next day asking for my address and are sending me a new Bolt via Fed Ex. So thankfully, I will get a replacement, and we will see how that goes.

So, was it worth it!? Probably not. I doubt this next Bolt will work more than a month. I would recommend just getting a small laser pointer and using it handheld. Way cheaper and seemingly more reliable.

Kudos for good customer service; however. I actually got a person in Illinois and not India!

I have never left a review for anyting that i have bought online. But, this is an exception, My cats LOVE this!!! Keeps them entertained for a long time!! I highly reccommend this product. And actually some friends of ours tried it with their Yellow Lab & he had the most fun chasing the light around the room! We finally had to leave, and I could see the disappointment in the pup's eyes so sweet. In other words, I think some dogs might enjoy this laser toy too.
