Title says it all. This fan is amazing. I carry it all over my apt and sit it right next to me. I sleep so much better with it on too. Sounds over the top but I LOVE IT. Yes makes a slight humming noise (for you super light sleepers)

Good product, not powerful

I like the fan for its space efficiency, consistency, and relative quiet, however, I found it to be best used at close range (a few feet), making it almost more of a "personal fan." Depending on what your needs are, this could be fine, but if you seek to create a room breeze or something that will move air over more distance, I'd say you are better off with another model. After using it for a season, I am selling mine and going for a second Lasko pedestal fan. Lasko is a good company and they have been very helpful on the couple of occasions I have called with questions about a product.

Reliable, compact cooling

I'm a hot sleeper, my husband.. not so much! We bought this to put on my side of the bed to blow cool air, and to circulate the A/C and heat better in the bedroom. Put this 3 ft. from my side of the bed, on oscillation, and ran it almost every night, all night, for three years before the motor gave out. I'm guessing it will cost as much to fix as buy new, but either way would get this product again... perfect controls, remote is awesome, and totally reliable. Docking one start because the motor did burn out, and while three years is good, it's not 'outstanding'... but nothing inherently wrong with this product at all. I noted another Lasko product was reported to burn out very quickly - all those reviews were around the same time of 2012, so it sounds like the motors were bad in that 'batch'. This is slightly shorter than the other one, but appears to have the same reliability as when i bought mine.

High Pitch Noise

There's a constant high pitch noise when on. It's not ideal for the bedroom. My larger, taller and more expensive Lasko tower fan is awesome and doesn't make that noise at all. I will be returning this item today.

I like it on all accounts, mostly because it does not take up a lot of room & I can unplug it when not in use & it's stored out of the way. The only negative is with the book of instructions. There should be a diagram showing the front of the fan and what the lights look like at different choices. Yes, I'd recommend it.

I bought the first one and after one day took it back thinking something wrong...cashier said to give time to break in...sorry the smell was horrible .. I exchanged for new and that one did not have a remote went back again .. got new box again. and this one smells also...do not know what the heck but the smell is so bad that my room had a stuff burnt smell.........taking back and not getting another of this brand.. great price but horrible smell I wish I would of read the reviews first..

Awful smell

I bought two of these fans last night. One for my 1yr olds room and one for mine. Plugged the first one in -- my wife noticed a smell... oil, burning... it got worse. We started to get worried about what we were breathing. I opened up the second fan as we figured the first had a problem. Same thing. Our room filled up with this chemical oily aroma. I thought it might be just some type of new burn off smell. I sat it on the balcony and let it blow for about an hour then brought it back in. Immediately our room filled up with the scent.

A bit hard to believe both fans were bad. Maybe. Now I have to take the trek back across town to return. I wish these companies cared more about how little time the consumers have to go shopping. Also that companies that sale the products, like Bedbathandbeyond, put more time into vetting these products.

Very happy with this fan so far. The breeze is perfect and you can't beat the price. It's overall pretty quiet, though I have heard it kick up a notch once or twice but then it goes quiet again (doesn't bother me at all). It might bother a light sleeper but other than that you probably wouldn't notice. Would definitely recommend.

While this fan is a great size, it produced a strange plastic-like smell when it osculated for the first two weeks we owned it. The smell has gradually decreased, but it was a huge disappointment since I am usually quite pleased with products I buy from BBB.

I wasn't sure if a fan this inexpensive would do a good job. It blows strong, the circulating feature works well, and the timer is great for me because I use it in my craft room, and I might have forgotten to turn it off without it. I am happy with this purchase.

this safe easy to use quaiet fan was borowed buy us from friends during a no aircondition week after a storm. it simply saved our lives and it was so safe to have it with the kids. we bought one and were suprised that it is almost as cheep as a regular loud and unsafe fan. we will buy another shortly to have one in each room. love it.

Burnt Plastic Smell

In short, do not buy fans from Lasko. I bought a fan that started emitting this burnt plastic smell, which I thought was just a defect, so I returned it and got another one. The second fan still had that burnt plastic smell. Terrible fans. Terrible brand.
