While we have been making our own bread for the past several years, this bread machine is the best ever. From the variety of options to the texture of the bread, this is the greatest. We really enjoy the audio beeps to signal adding nuts, raisins, etc. and also time to remove the kneading paddle. We're hoping for many years of continued good use.

While shopping for a breakmaker I went through all the reviews that BBB had to offer and was concerned about buying this model due to the negative comments. But when going to the store this was the only model in the store and my husband convinced me to give it a try. Thank goodness we did. It was half the price of the model we had decided on and works great. The issues that others said they have seemed to be fixed BY ACTUALLY READING THE DIRECTIONS!! We have made 4 loaves of bread in 2 days and it was so so easy and the bread was great! We had no issues with the bread pan (like I said if you read the directions which were short and easy, it tells you exactly how to do it and it comes out easily) and it wasn't difficult to figure out. I think this is a great bread maker, especially for the money!

My Williams Sonoma breadmaker of 15 years up and died on me. I made a quick trip to BBB and bought an Oster Bread Maker. Bad choice. I returned the Oster back to the store, and through the store ordered the Cuisinart. I have other Cuisinart applicances and have never (over 30 years) had any problem with any of them, so I felt very comfortable buying this product sight unseen.
The machine is easy to use - and to figure out - with out the manual (unfortunately the manual/recipe booklet was not in my original box, but they did send it out to me after I called). I just made my first loaf of basic white bread - perfect. The paddle is easy to remove. The 'bin' is easy to put in, lock in place and remove.
The bread maker makes bread the way a bread maker should.

I have had this bread machine for a few years and had a few quality problems. Getting the bread pan out of the machine, then keeping the bread pan from lifting out when its mixing and now finally the paddle assembly has rusted out. Looking for a new machine, I do not plan on buying another Cuisinart, I called customer service once and had a less than satisfactory experience.

I just got the Cuisinart CBK-100 Bread maker. I couldn't figure out how to take the bread pan out of the unit so I called customer service. The agent told me to pull on the handle. I pulled and the handle it broke off. I put the handle back on. I tried it again and the handle broke off again. Now onto customer service if they are even that. For a lack of better words their customer service sucks!!! They are rude and there to only pick-up a paycheck. Which is unfortunate because over the years I gladly bought their products. After this diabolical encounter I will NEVER buy their products!! So if you want a poorly made product and rude customer service Cuisinart is the company to buy from.

I bought this breadmaker to make gluten free bread for my recently diagnosed celiac daughter. It is horrible! The bread will not rise. I took all the ingredients to my Mom's and made it in her bread machine, bam, turned out perfect on the first try. I called the maufacteror and they were no help at all!I have wasted over $50 in ingredients and do not have one loaf of bread to show for it (we can't eat the one made in my Mom's breadmaker because of cross contamination issues) I will be returning this breadmaker today!

I purchased this for myself after having another machine for years. I have made many loaves already and have had no problems. It mixes, kneads and bakes to perfection! I am very pleased. The instructions where clear and the included recipes an added bonus. I really like the elongated pan that makes the loaf come out looking like a oven made loaf of bread. The feature that I like best is being prompted to take the paddle out, if I want, so there is no hole in the bottom of the loaf.
I would highly recommend this machine to everyone.

Cuisinart SS Bread Machine.....Love !!!

I bought this to replace one that I had for years, and this one makes a larger loaf of bread. I am so surprised at how many negative reviews there are, I had looked at several machines at several different stores, and this is the one I settled for, and I have not had any problems with it, it does a great job. I have made yeast rolls, cinnamon rolls, many many loaves of bread, without a glitch. Many years ago my bread would be heavy, but I changed brands of flour, and keep my yeast in a air tight container, and in the refrigerator, (King Arthur Flour told me this) I have found if you want to bake good, use good ingredients. I now bake like a pro, this bread maker is wonderful, I love the delay start, and the rapid cycles. It cleans very easy, and looks great!!

Worst bread machine

I bought this machine in June and returned it yesterday. I hated it. I have been using bread machines for 15 years and have worn out 4. So I bought this one as a replacement. The bread wouldn't rise. Then this weekend I made cinnamon raisin bread and it didn't stir in the raisins. They were just clumped on the outside of the loaf and fell off when I took the bread out of the pan. I gave up on it after that. Now looking for a good bread maker.

Cuisinart Stainless Steel Programmable Bread Maker
Giving it a 3 star it does it's job just not perfect yet...
I bought this bread maker, I replaced my old one I had for 10 years it still worked but I just wanted a new one. Nothing like my old one I had,  they don't make stuff like they used to!
An regret giving my old one i  perfected  away.
I got this bread maker an as I read reviews how hard it is to take out the bread pan... An yes I struggled with it to... But than read the directions ... When you grab the handle you have to turn it clockwise to unlock it, putting it back in slightly turned an then counter clock to snap in... Once I figured that out comes out easily every time no problems...
I'm still following the directions experimenting, so far not looking to good, I followed the basic recipe to the T.  Using honey...an the bread was perfect color but dropped an very heavy. Now one is baking with sugar an my help... In kneading...
Regular over 3 hours I think is to long, the last little punch is at bout 1 hr 40 min left .,,an the last beep is bout 1 hr 30 min left,..  just before it rises an bakes, i think  it needs to knead a little longer an it would have been perfect....Couple turns  makes the dough drop not kneaded enough an starts to re-rise,...  But if u  take out the dough knead it by hand, (put a little veggie or olive  oil on your hands the dough don't stick to ur hands)
take out the paddle , u got perfect bread with no paddle hole under ur bread... but that defeats the purpose  of a bread maker, as once I perfect the loaf I would like to set it to we're I have a hot bread loaf when I come home from work....
an the rapid is 58 min to short, it don't bake it long enough comes out not baked all the way very light in color ( had it set medium) An heavy cause it's under baked...
It's been a couple days now an after 4 bad loafs I'm not giving up just yet. Gonna try a few more an if the machine can't make a perfect loaf with out me taking out an kneading it I will have to change it for another one as on the weekday I won't be there to help knead it , I be at work...
But I think this bread maker would be perfect For those that like to make grain, or wheat breads... Haven't tried those yet,.. Basic is more of a lighter bread an my option this machine is made more for the heavier wheat grain loafs...
gonna try different flour, yeast, an recipe before I give up on it... Good or bad loaf it still make the house smell awesome as it bakes....

Customer Service Changed My Mind

I wrote a review last December, when I was frustrated. My machine was no longer working and I was shopping for a different brand. My husband suggested I call Cuisinart Customer Service - "just in case" they would do something for me. I am glad I took his advice; I found out that my unit was still under warranty and Cuisinart replaced it, no haggling and no hassle. I have since used the replacement unit several times and am really pleased with the results, especially when I use it on the dough cycle. The Artisan Pizza Dough has turned out to be a family favorite. For $99 (even less if you use a BBB 20% coupon), overall very satisfactory results, and great customer service, I have changed my recommendation to a YES, I would recommend.

The worst thing I have ever bought!

I grew up having fresh made bread from my fathers breadmaker, so when my fiance and I bought this one we were VERY upset. The machine repeadly put out heavy, flat, pound lofs. It made no difference how we put in the ingredents, if we use hot/cold/room temp H2O, if we combined all the ingredents from a box kit or if we measured it all out and then added it. We even took the original purchased one back and then got another one thinking that something was wrong with the original. But I am sad to report that the same thing continued to happen with the new one. To add to the issue we would always have to stir the ingredents d/t the paddle not reaching everything.
If you are considering getting a bread machine, DON'T GET THIS ONE!

Broken after 1 month of use

My husband and I received this as a gift for Christmas. Initially we were thrilled with the product and overall, it does work well. However, while making a recipe out of the book the machine began to smoke. Some of the dough fell out of the bread pan and onto the heating coils. My husband got home from work to find the entire downstairs of our house filled with smoke. We had used the delay feature, which I do not recommend. Then a few weeks later, we went to make pizza dough. After about 15 minutes, I opened the lid of the maker to scrape down the sides as recommended by the recipe in the book that came with the machine. The dough was not moving. . .as it turns out the bread hook broke in half! I couldn't believe it. . .after one month! I contacted Cuisinart directly to request a replacement part. Once I hear their response, I may change my review.

Great when it works ....

I had my previous bread maker (a basic Oster) for 17 years before it stopped working. I was excited to get this Cuisinart as a replacement (two years ago) since I have had excellent luck with several of their other products. This unit looks great, has lots of options, and when it works properly, it makes great bread. However, a recurring problem I am having after minimal-moderate use is that the metal clips that are supposed to hold the pan in place are not up to the task. When the the dough is kneading, the pan will "jump" out and make a terrible noise. I have tried re-bending the clips outward (toward the sides of the pan) to make a more snug fit, but this remedy no longer works. Last night I actually had to stand there and hold the pan in place which was not very convenient. The dough itself turned out great (I was reshaping to bake on my own), but I am SO frustrated. I am sorry to say this Cuisinart product has not met my expectations.

As a wonderful loving husband I gave this to my wife a few Christmas’ ago. The product has worked excellently. We bake bread probably on average 2 – 3 times a month and on top of that we use the dough setting probably another 5 – 6 times a month on average. Overall it works wonderfully. One issue that I noticed and a previous reviewer probably ran into this as well is that the bread pan is made of a soft metal and you can easily bend it when trying to snap it into place which would cause the paddle not to spin correctly and can make it difficult to get it out of the unit. Other than that it has worked flawlessly and I would highly recommend it.

Do not buy this bread maker! The first one broke after 9 days. I ONLY used recipes in the book and ONLY hand washed it.. I babied it and followed all of the instructions. I successfully made 6 or 7 loaves of bread. Then the kneading paddle would get stuck and no longer combine, much less knead ingredients. Replaced it today with same model. It didn't even make it through one kneading cycle before the paddle was stuck and machine was broken again.
