Omega Omega® VRT350HD Vertical Masticating HD Juicer

This revolutionary Omega Juicer features the high efficiency of a masticating style juicer in a vertical design. Most juicers process at a speed of 1,650 to 16,000 RPM, destroying many healthy enzymes and causing juice to degrade shortly after being extracted. Unit's Low Speed Juicing System processes at 80 RPM, preventing oxidation and allowing juice to be stored for up to 72 hours without degradation. You obtain the highest degree of extraction and the healthiest possible juice. Also features an innovative auto cleaning system that keeps the screen clear during juicing and increases its efficiency. The contemporary design is complemented by a virtually indestructible ULTEM juicing auger that can withstand heavy duty juicing. Measures 7" W x 8 1/2" D x 15 1/2" H. Hand wash. Imported. 10-year warranty. Model# VRT350HD.

Works great, really easy to use and clean up. This will be one of our better purchases.
All of these upright juicers are made by the same S Korean company with just little variations in non-functional design. Omega is the only one to have a full 10 year warranty on all parts and labor.

Very satisfied!

The amount of juice I extract from my produce is awesome (in comparison to my old Breville JE98XL) and the pulp is always very dry. I also LOVE the fact that since the RPMs are low, the juice does not oxidize right away. I love being able to store a batch of juice for the next day!
Some tips if you are experiencing the clogging issues (which I did the very first time I used it): chop your stringy produce (celery, ginger, greens with spines such as kale) into 1/4 inch pieces and feed into chute in small amounts at a time. Also, do not over feed into the chute. Remember, the juicer is "chewing" and will spit out anything it cannot hold in it's "mouth" into your juice. Be sure to follow soft items like leafy greens or tomatoes with something hard like an apple or carrot to push the waste through. I learned these tricks through some YouTube videos and I have had no trouble with my Omega Vert since.
Happy juicing!

I love my Omega VRT350HD. The clean up is a snap. It is very easy to clean. Two navel oranges will give me a full glass of juice. And the pulp will come out very dry. You do have to cut carrots in small pieces to prevent the machine from jamming. I have no problems cutting carrots into small pieces. This machine gives me more juice and very dry pulp. Plus you cannot beat the warranty on the motor. Also the white part of an orange peel has nutritional value. Leave the white after peeling the orange. The juice will taste excellent. Taking the machine apart to clean and to put it back together is very easy.

I will keep this as simple as possible.
This Juicer is Expensive, but well mad, saves electricity, is powerful enough to crush beets and carrots, and is easy to assemble and clean . THE WARRANTY is EXCELLENT!
Engineering FLAW: the exit port where the fiber is released from is too small and gets clogged easily when juicing Celery, Ginger, or any LONG or THICK FIBER veggie. They should have made it bigger, Im sure this flaw has caused many customers to switch to other brands after they experienced this.

All devices have pros and cons and the pros outway the cons for this thing! One of the cons is the useless manual, but as others have commented, John Koelher's vidoes on you tube are a wonderful resource in place of a terrible manual. Cleanup is quick -- less than 5 mins --. The main chores cleaning it are cleaning the pulp ejection shoot and of course the screen. But a good nylon brush makes the cleaning quick and the included brush has a flat end to clean the ejection port. This brings me to the other con: there is a rubber gasket that must be inserted into the ejection port. I keep for getting the darn thing. While not a con for me, the juice is a little pulpy. But that can be taken care of with a strainer. But overall, if you you cut your veggies properly and do not put more in before the previous one is finished, you will get minimum foam and great juice!

Some problems

I had some issues from this unit. It jammed upon first use, but the reversing switch helped resolve that problem. I was surprised at how wet the pulp is. I have a Jack Lalanne Juice Pro centrifugal juicer that creases sawdust dry pulp for carrots, whereas the Omega pulp is quite wet. Thus, it creates less juice. I am also disappointed with Omega's customer support. I could never reach them by phone, and left messages 4 times without ever getting a response. I tried email, but nada there as well. BB&B is a great company to do biz with, so I will continue to test this juicer for any further problems. BB&B has a great return policy if I am dissatisfied with the product.

I just purchased this juicer after much review. There is a fantastic video on YouTube of someone demonstrating it. Before I went and spent this kind of money for juicing, I bought a used one through CL. I quickly realized the issue with speed, squeezing, dryness with the pulp, and how much I am leaving in my pulp. This machine leaves a dry pulp. I have so much more yield from the same amount of produce, which means I will spend less money on produce in the long run. The clean up is easy as well- less than 5 minutes.
Only thing I noticed is stringy produce, like pineapple or celery, will get caught at where the pulp comes out. The pulp comes out, but requires some elbow grease to clean it out the fibers- but clean up still under 5 minutes.

Since writing my first review of the Omega Vert 350 my wife had a blood test and the results were awesome. The doctor was impressed with the results. Her A1C1 dropped 2 full points since her last visit. We’ve only been juicing for less than 3 weeks; I attribute this directly to the quality of the juice this juicer produces. If you want to try her recipe here’s the best I can do since she doesn’t measure anything. 4 to 5 ounces baby spinach, 4-5 ounces of chopped Kale, 2 celery stalks, 1 blood orange, 1 kiwi, 2-4 strawberries, 6-8 green beans, 4 brussel sprouts or the equivalent weight in cabbage, 1 or 2 carrots. The carrots are cut into thirds and used to help push the pulp through the machine save one piece for the very end to get the most yield. Watch John Kholer’s youtube video “Tips for Juicing Sucessfully in the Omega VRT 350 that are Not Mentioned in the Instruction Book”

Took me a couple of times to get the hang of it but now I love this juicer. I watched a few videos online and learned some tips. I remove the strings from the celery then cut in 1" pieces. I do have to cut up things more than I did with my Jack LaLanne juicer but it's not a big deal. With this juicer I can now juice leafy greens which I couldn't do with my JLL juicer. This juicer comes with two strainers. I first used the solid yellow which gives you more pulp. Gave me too much pulp so now I use the clear yellow strainer. I pull out the rubber gasket when I'm cleaning it which helps in removing any pulp stuck in the spout. Used my 20% coupon and paid less than $5 more than the Hurom at Costco. But the Omega has a 10 year warranty on everything and the Humom (actually made by the same company) now only has a 10 year warranty on the motor the other parts only a 1 year warranty.

Before juicing my wife was taking 32 units of insulin twice a day now zero units is typical. Juicing was added to our diet not a substitute so it has been painless.
After a lot of research I decided on a vertical juicer because it is the most versatile style. Although after a few days I was ready to bring it back because it would clog up I watched some of John Kohlers videos and found out what I was doing wrong. As far as pulp and foam is concerned it will vary based on how fast you try to process your vegetables. Just slow down, cut stringy vegetables and enjoy the results. Before you buy this juicer watch John Kohlers videos on youtube or one of his web sites to see if this is the right juicer for you, it's not for everyone but it's perfect for us.

Our First Juicer

My husband and I did a lot of research when it came to our first serious juicer (had a cheaper one before someone gave us). After the documentary "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" we wanted to get into juicing. He recommended this one (I originally opposed it because I wanted to find one that wasn't so much $$) But I eventually gave in since our local Bed, Bath and Beyond had one in stock, and they accepted my 20% off coupon, which took $80 off the price. When we got it home, I was happy we didn't go with a cheaper one! You can definitely tell the quality of this one is really great. Since this is a low speed juicer, the juice comes out very calm and still cold from the fridge (unlike our other juicer that would shoot it out, and almost be hot from the heat of the motor). The only issue we had originally was with Kale getting clogged.. But after some research we discovered with certain vegetables/fruits, you need to properly prepare them (chop) before juicing so they wont clog your machine up. Since we started doing that we haven't had an issue. I'll make my juice the night before, and first thing in the morning I'll grab a jug of it and hit the road. The juice (even made hours before) still taste super fresh all day. Plus the machine is small and I have no issue keeping it on my counter.

The Winner by Far

I bought this slow speed, auger, vertical juicer because I wanted one I could leave on my counter for daily use. I already have a horizontal Green Star, slow speed, twin gear juicer but it is simply too large to leave out so I take it out for nut butters, pasta, etc. The Omega is simply outstanding. Slow speed retains nutrients better. I was so pleased to see how my items automatically were grabbed by the auger and processed. I don't consider cutting items into decent sizes to avoid clogging a hardship that many seem to so everything fed in like a dream. I juiced a mixture of fruit and veggies. Not 100% pulp free but the amount was perfect for my taste. Cleaned so quickly and easily. Sturdy, well made, QUIET, fast. I'm 100% pleased and now I have the best of both worlds (vertical and horizontal) to cover all my needs. This juicer isn't cheap but it's certainly well worth every penny. 10 year warranty!

We bought two brand new Breville Ikon and they both were bad. What are the chances of that? Well it just was not meant to be because the best thing ever happened to us. Omega VRT.. I have been juicing every day and the 10year warranty gives me the peace of mind. Best part its quite, not obnoxiously loud as others, juices leafy vegetables and gives the option of less pulp or more pulp. Extracts the most and also very easy to clean!!! LOVE IT

I have other high speed juicers. this is my first low RPM juicer. I have used it several times and I'm very satisfied. For those with celery clogging issues... cut it into sections less than 2" long. I have used Fresh cut pineapple, cucumbers, spinach, kale, beets, peeled lemons and limes. apples, lettuce, peppers, ginger. I cut everything into sizes that fit. Then I put all pieces into large bowl and then alternate feeding items into juicer. Pineapple and cucumbers can be left in long skinny pieces because they don't have the stringy fibers like celery. Look up John Kohler or rawfoods on youtube and watch and learn from this juicing evangelist. watch this movie... "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" | a Joe Cross Film for inspiration.

Expensive and for good reason..

This juicer is expensive, but it seems well worth it. I use it almost daily for months now. If you are unfamiliar with masticating juicers they can jam up if you put in too much too fast, they are also more work to clean, but they also produce much better results. The pulp they force out is much drier getting you every last bit of juice and nutrients out of the food. And this vertical screw design seems to be the best design option of the masticating juicers out there. To help with the jamming problem it has a reverse switch that will back it up and let it get started again. Works almost every time.
Note the instructions say to not put in anything with hard seeds and they mean it. The only real issue I had with it happened when I was not thinking and threw some dates in at one point. The steel screen exploded. I just went to Omega's web site and ordered a new one.
Nice to find there are still a few products out there that are made to last.

I finally purchased the Omega VRT 350HD after 3 months of research. I absolutely love this juicer. NO problems, easy to clean , takes up little counter space and the end product is a healthy glass of juice.
I use it primarily for veggies I am a true VRT fan.
One helpful hint is to alternate veggies with different consistency so that nothing gets caught in the basket.

I did a ton a research before finally deciding to buy this juicer. I googled and you tubed extensively for weeks.
It was a toss up between the Green Star Elite GSE 5000 (twin grear), Omega 8006 (single auger) and the Omega vrt 350 (single auger). I am mostly interested in juicing greens so I thought these were my best choices for doing so.
I decided on the the Omega vrt because it did a nice job on the greens as well as other vegetables and fruit.
****For best results when juicing green leafy vegetables and celery and even something stringy like pineapple cut up into smaller pieces so the machine won't jam.****
The machine does also produce a little foam. I put a nut milk bag over the container I am juicing into and strain as I go.
Do your research and identify how you will be using the juicer and how often. You may not want to invest in an almost $300 dollar juicer as I did. My juicer is used at least once daily.
This juicer does have a 10 year warranty, that was another important consideration for me.
I bought my Omega vrt here at BBB along with a 20 percent off coupon so I lucked out on pricing. BBB has a great return policy which influenced and secured my purchase choice with them. I liked that I wouldn't have to deal with shipping the product back if I had any issues.
I got a ton of very informative info from John Kohler, he is on you tube and has a number of videos show casing all kinds of juicers.
This juicer is very user friendly. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Absolutely this is a wonderful slow juicer (slower is better to preserve the nutrients). I am a Certified Health Coach and I have had the juicer on my counter using it several days a week for over 1 year and it has performed perfectly! To make it even easier to clean I run hot water through the juicer after I remove my healthy juice! Of course all juicers will require a little extra TLC but if you immediately immerse the attachments in water, even if you don't have time to clean right away, then it is no problem. The healthy juice and the energy you get from juicing is well worth any time put into it. I love the Elaine LaLanne Total Juicing book for wonderful juice recipes.
