Love this new slow cooker. My family and I are away from the house many days for 8-10 hours. This makes dinner difficult to prepare at home. But this appliance has given us new freedom in this area. It programs to cook the number of hours that you need, then STOPS cooking and keeps warm. NO more burned or tough meats from OVER cooking as we experienced with several less expensive slow cookers. Such a great addition to our kitchen!

I have dreams of a big family, which means cooking big meals and pinching pennies, so I preferred to splurge on this crock pot now. Let me tell you, it was SO worth it! With this, I make huge amounts of food with leftovers and everything tastes FANTASTIC! Food is cooked to perfection, and the warm feature is the best I've ever seen. After it finishes cooking, this slow cooker goes right to warm so it won't overcook your food, even if you're running late! The ceramic insert is so easy to wash, it's perfect for meals every night. I've had it for a year now and it's still working flawlessly. Highly recommend!!

Worth Every Penny

I splurged on this. I'm tired of buying $40 slow cookers that overcook food, and only last a couple of years. So this time I'm hoping you get what you pay for. I read a bunch of reviews, and they were all pretty favorable. So far, I love it. I cooked ribs the other night, and they were tender and juicy. They fell right off the bone! In my old slow cooker, they were always tough and dry. Too soon to comment on durability or longevity, but so far I can definitely tell a difference between this slow cooker, and the less expensive models I've had in the past.

Besides the usual "High" and "Low" settings, this slow cooker has a "Warm" and an "Automatic" setting. On Automatic, it cooks on High for the first two hours of whatever cooking time you chose, then reverts to Low for the balance of the time. When you choose either Automatic, High or Low, the cooker operates on Warm for several hours after the cooking time is completed. The Warm setting would be useful for keeping things like party dishes or holiday drinks warm for long periods of time.

Finally, I own a slow cooker that's large enough to handle an ample serving of meat, as well as large quantities of food. Plus I really like the variable digital settings.

This slow cooker not only works great, but it also cleans up easily. Consequently, I'm not sure how I ever slow cooked without it!.

Slow Cooking at it's Best!

I ordered this slow cooker because my 7 quart All-Clad slow cooker was not working right - so I thought I should replace it before it totally died on me. I slow cook a large meal once a week - usually overnight on the weekends. I purchased the Calphalon based on the size, (I slow cooked a 9 lb pork shoulder in it and it fit perfectly!!) the timer (24 hours not just 8 or 9 hours) and that it automatically switches to "warm" when the set amount of time is complete. I have owned it for about a month and have used it 4 times so far. Fabulous sums it up for me. It looks great on the counter next to all our other stainless appliances. It also has an area underneath the unit to wrap and store the cord too. I used a 20% off coupon that I recevied via email for this purchase which helped a bit with the price tag. All in all -- I think this was a smart purchase.

Before ordering the Calphalon 7-Quart Slow Cooker, I had purchased a total of 4 other brands only to get them home and be disappointed with each & every purchase!
It was either the lid did not fit properly or the cooker did not heat up properly (to my expectations) or the design did not meet my standards in order to fit in my newly remodeled kitchen. The Calphalon Slow Cooker has a sleek & modern design, but most of all meets all of my requirements to produce a wonderful, tasty meal to my family. I love the choice of cooking options thats available with this model. Order this Cooker, you will not be disappointed!
