I had been reviewing different juicers for many months. I'm not the kind of person to spend money on unnecessary things like juicers. BUT, since I've been trying to take better care of myself, I decided to make some changes. The Omega 8004 is fantastic! Bought it yesterday. Made my green juice. Lots of juice. Lots of dry pulp. Quiet...relatively. Easy to clean....relatively. Used my 20% off coupon. I could not be happier and would strongly recommend this product. 15 year warranty??? Can't beat it!!

I've been wanting this juicer for years but skeptical to buy because I was worried about it breaking down but I really wanted to juice my own veggies and fruits since buying these drinks itself is 6 dollars and up in NYC. The prices have been climbing so I realized its best that I get my own. I've been using this since last week and I love it so far. The juices test so fresh! I juiced apples, spinach, cucumber, and carrots. The strawberries and any other soft fruit may not juice properly so you may need to juice the carrot last to push it out. But otherwise, I am sold. I follow the directions (it says you can't use the juicer for no more than thirty minutes per session). I can't wait to start my diet, :)

This is a quick review of the J8004 juicer.
I have had this for a few months now and use it daily. It works well, I juice up soft items (apples, kale, ect, then follow with something hard (carrots) have not clogged it by doing this pattern. leave my pulp dry, and ez to clean.

I love this Juicer! It is my first juicer but have loved it ever since I took it out if the box. It does take longer then some other juicers that I have seen in use but the pulp does come out pretty dry. Soft fruits are a bit harder to juice but follow it by a carrot or something harder and it works fine. I haven't tried all it has to offer yet but I am planning on it soon. The feeder where you put the fruit/veggies through is small so you do have to cut down them down a bit. That would be the only negative thing I would have to say about the omega.

I purchased the Omega J8004 at my local BB&B with free home delivery using the 20% off coupon as recommended by other reviewers. The unit arrived about 5 days after that. Unfortunately, the housing unit was cracked. It took back to store where I purchased it, and they kindly reordered another unit.

I am new to juicing and want to add vegetable juice to my diet.

I've had the unit for 2 days and tried a few different veggie and fruit recipes. Based on friends' experience in juicing, I had low expectations for the quantity of juice provided by juicing. I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity produced by the juicer. In addition, the unit had no problems with celery or lemons--I've read this is difficult for some juicers.

I am also happy with how little time it takes to clean up. There are just a few parts that are easy to disassemble and clean.

I researched several juicers before purchasing this one. Even though I've only had the unit for a few days, I'm very pleased with this purchase. If I run into any issues or problems I will post those also.

Not good for soft fruits like apples and oranges

I mainly juice apples, pineapple, and oranges. This unit is terrible for soft pulpy fruits like that. 3 small sections of apple completely clogs the juicing screen.

It does however work good for green veggies. I made some mean green juice (kale, celery, apple, ginger, lemon, cucumber) and it came out well. BUT you need to alternate what you feed into it. After a chunk of apple you need to feed some celery to unclog it.

What happens is the auger is like a screw that screws against a mesh screen.

Soft fruits just keep squishing around in the auger, and need something more fibrous (like celery or carrot) to push them out.

So if you always plan on juicing greens, this juicer is great! But if you plan on juicing soft fruits like me, you're better off sticking with the high speed spining type juicer.

I was very nervous to spend so much on a juicer, so I put off buying this for about a year agonizing over whether to buy this or a less expensive Breville centrifugal. Two months later and I have juiced every day but three! The quality of the juice really is superior to centrifugal juicers. For one thing, it comes out cold and frothless and the pulp is absolutely dry.

If you are juicing mushier fruits like citrus, peaches and cucumbers, I'd recommend running those through first, then running through something harder to push the mush through. Otherwise, it can get a little clogged. But it's an absolute dream with leafy veggies and things like carrots and celery.

This is remarkably easy to assemble and clean. I have no dishwasher, so I was worried about that. I would say it takes about 3 minutes using the included brush. Most parts could even get by with a hot water rinse.

I highly recommend. You won't regret it.

My husband & I love our Omega J8004. We get a good amount of juice... the pulp is very dry. We juice every thing from lemon to kale and it does great (though we only do the flesh of the lemon). A small strainer comes with the juicer, which is good for getting rid of any extra pulp and foam, however, a little pulp and foam doesn't hurt, but it is a nice option to have. The juicer runs great and because of the low rpm it operates at, the juice comes out pretty cold and full of nutrition! (since heat destroys enzymes). I have yet to make any pasta or nut butters, but that is the one of the reasons I wanted this model. So far so good and we look forward to using it for years to come!

I liked the workings and price but we decided on a different Omega model, the upright VRT 350 for it's compact size and seems to do the same job without the need to do so much need to push the produce down the feed tube
