I was expecting an awesome product from Kitchen Aid.
I couldn't read any of the settings on the dials unless I had a flashlight and that was not even helping.

Great Easy to Use Oven!

My husband bought this for me for Christmas and I just love it! I didn't want anything too complicated with digital info - just the classic simple basic old-fashioned dials and this is it! Heats up quickly, saves me from turning on the big oven for 8 pizza rolls! LOL - love the silver and black! We've used it for toasting turkey and cheese sandwiches, pizza rolls, homemade bread, etc and everything came out great! I especially love the toasting option of light, medium and dark - love the timer in case I forget. Great Purchase!

JUNK!

After spending $130 on this so-called high end counter top oven, it has stopped working completely for the second time in two years. The first time, I called customer service and it was replaced, free of charge. Now, a year later the replacement has also stopped working. Customer service said that the original warranty has expired and I was out of luck. After speaking with a manager, they agreed to replace the replacement with a refurbished unit.
Bottom line- this product is a piece of junk. It is the slowest toaster I've ever had and the oven function does not work well either.
Save your money and buy a Black and Decker, the one I had before this piece of junk lasted almost 10 years and worked much better.

I too wish I had read reviews first... less than 1 year old and Kitchen Aid will not honor their warranty. It completely stopped working. Even when it did work, the toaster function was horrible. Very disappointing as I love my KitchenAid food processor. You can be sure I will NOT be spending any of my hard earned money on KitchenAid products in the future!!

This toaster oven just died. Stopped working for no apparent reason and it hasn't even been a year since we purchased it! We are so disappointed. The last toaster oven we had lasted over five years. I'm deeply disappointed in KitchenAid and it is obviously happening to several people (see older reviews).

This oven was purchased from Bed Bath and Beyond in April 2011. Today it quit working. When I purchased it, it was $100. I see it has gone up to $130. Maybe it will last 2 years instead of the 1 1/2 years I got for $100. I would not recommend purchasing this oven.

Don't Buy

I have owned this for about a year and am sorry I didn't return it shortly after purchase. CONS: *It does not toast the bottom of the bread. *The crumb tray is very, very hard to keep clean and eventually gets sticky and crusted no matter how hard I try to keep it clean. *Interior is too small to bake anything but small pot pies. *Top and sides get very hot. *Have to remember to keep adjusting timer if you're baking something that takes longer than an hr. PROS: *Does bake potatoes well - IF you remember to keep adjusting timer.

Not exactly what I wanted

In general, this is a decent oven. One thing to keep in mind is that, while it has a Toast setting, it is not necessarily a toaster oven. As a result, the toasting capability isn't great.
I also have had some trouble with using the knobs to control the oven. Another set of controls could probably work better, but I have been able to figure these out.

A Huge Mistake

I have had this toaster for almost a year now and I absolutely hate it! It does a horrible job toasting - everything comes out uneven. Also, the trays do not come in and out easily. Last, there is no tray that comes out of the back to remove crumbs. What a gigantic waste of $129.00 - the toaster I had prior to this was less money and was leagues better.

I love this oven. It cooks just like it says it does.My only complaint is that the top gets very hot while using it. I have to remember to remove everything prior to use. Since this oven is so large I usually have some fruit or french bread sitting on top.

We have only had this oven for a couple of weeks but we use it every day. From re-heating leftovers to toasting bagels it is priceless. Quickly and evenly heats (and re-heats) food without using the full size oven. It doesn't take up a lot of room on the counter and it looks great as well. Wish we would have made this purchase earlier.

My husband purchased this item as a gift for me and it sure has gotten a work out. In fact my girlfriend was making dinner for all of us and couldn't believe how quick it bake her various fish dishes. She loved it and said that she wanted to buy one. Santa purchased it for her and she was speachless.

This toaster oven has all the features I was looking for:
Convection bake
Analog controls
Separate control for toast darkness
Large interior
It has proven to be simple to use and the fan is very quiet. We use it almost every day and couldn’t be happier with it.

Heat control (thermostat) doesn't work

I bought this unit to replace an old toaster oven.My wife told me from the beginning the only thing she could with it was make toast because everything she tried to bake, burned. She doesn't like change, so I just thought she didn't know how to operate it. I finally put an oven test thermometer in the oven and set the oven to 350 degrees. I watched the thermometer rise to 350, 375, 400 and finally up to 425 before I cut it off. This one doesn't live up to the KitchenAid name or quality. The toast function works great, but that's all. This one goes to the garbage dump!!!

This unit makes sense. It replaced a more expensive brand with fancier controls. This one is user friendly. Slow to warm-up but so are all the others. Glad I changed.

I did my homework for a while looking to replace a well-used counter top convection oven. My old one had a rotisserie which I could not find but didn't really use a lot anyway. Nothing else compared to the KitchenAid for what I wanted and the size inside and out . It is perfect for two of us and we use it regularly. My husband is a chef, I love to cook, we love it! It's very handy for keeping dishes warm and for extra cooking space for parties and holidays.
So far 2 other family members have purchased them and are just as happy especially when they get the utility bill. Using this oven is a nice green option because of the faster cook times and smaller heating unit plus it's easier to work in and out of than a conventional oven. The 'ticking timer' does not bother me because it can't be heard when you leave the room and you don't even notice it when you are busy doing other things in the kitchen.
I highly recommend this KitchenAid oven to anyone if you have the counter space.

NOT your average toaster oven - REAL quality

Like most things made by KitchenAid, a division of Whirpool, this is a serious kitchen appliance that is built to last. No, it doesn't have a digital display or a clock, but do you really need those? If you want a true countertop oven that accomodates casseroles and pizzas up to 12 ", bakes two smalll trays of cookies at a time, has a true convection feature (not just during the pre-heat cycle), then this is for you. My only complaint is that there is not a pre-heat light that goes out to tell you that the oven has reached the correct temperature, but I have found those to be unreliable in the past anyway. I just set a separate timer for 10 minutes, then put my food in. Be sure to set the timer on the oven for an additional 10 minutes beyond your cooking time, if you do as I do. This oven is solid, easy to clean, huge front window, generous capacity. I know I'll be using this for many years to come and it looks great with my other professional-grade countertop appliances (KitchenAid mixer, Cuisinart 15-bar espresso machine, etc.) Great price on BBB website! Enjoy!

Design Flaws

I received this toaster oven as a bridal shower present. When I opened the box, the oven door was on crooked and the metal was bent out of shape. I returned it and was given a new one. Within 2 weeks, a plastic component inside the oven door handle broke and the handle fell off on one side.
2 big design flaws with this model:
1. It does not tell you when the oven is preheated! You have to guess as to when you think you can put your food in.
2. The built in timer turns the oven on and off. It ticks very loudly! So, as long as your oven is on, you will hear ticking!!!

I went to my Bed Bath and Beyond to purchase the convection toaster oven. All they had available in the store was the toaster oven for $99.00, not convection which goes for $139.00. They look the same, just make sure to notice whether it is say convection on the box and tag. Posted on Jan, 11th - I think you may have gotten the wrong one.
That being said, so far I love it. It will come in handy in the summer so I don't have to use the big oven.
