I bought this pillow a week ago and I love it so far. I actually wanted to buy the contour pillow but accidentally purchased this one but thought I'd give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. I had just bought a Martha Stewart contour pillow at Macy's and it was incredibly stiff and hurt my neck. I sunk right into this pillow and fell asleep like a baby. It's so comfortable. There have definitely been some nights where I knew I had strained my neck earlier in the day and I was scared to wake up with an aching neck. But with this pillow the pain was definitely dulerl and now I need this pillow when I go to sleep!

I have neck and back problems from a fall a few years ago and after going through dozens of pillows over the years, this one has helped more than any I have tried. I had no problem with the "smell", it was very faint and went away in a couple of days. my problem is trying to remember not to put my arm under the pillow to prop my head up, like I did with the old one.you do not need to with this one! I love this pillow and will soon be ordering a new one for my wife, she keeps trying to steal mine. lol.

Only if You Want Horrible Neck Pain

I should preface this review by saying that I have fibromyalgia, and thus have problems with chronic pain, migraines, and difficulty finding a pillow that doesn't exacerbate these issues. I have tried at least 20 pillows with little success, but this was the ABSOLUTE WORST of them all. I bought this pillow after returning the contoured version, which was simply too hard for me.Upon laying down on it, I could feel that my neck was propped up at an uncomfortable angle, and feared that the fact that my spine was not level might cause issues. For the first use, I lay on this one (on my side) for about 1.5 hours before realizing I was in too much pain to continue with it. The next day I couldn't turn my neck either right or left, and this continued for 2 weeks afterwards until I received a steroid shot in my neck and 2 massages. Once my neck was fully functioning, I decided for some unknown reason to give it one more try, just in case I had tweaked my neck some other way. After half an hour of tossing and turning I threw it off the bed. The next morning I had the same horrible pain in my neck keeping me from having full range of motion. So that confirmed it for me. I not only spent a lot on the pillow, but $200 more on a doctors appointment and steroid shot, and another $200 on massage therapy to relieve the pain in my neck. I have a sneaking suspicion this pillow might work well for someone who lays on their back and never turns over or for a larger person or a man. Someone my size (5'2") who sleeps on their side simply does not need such a high pillow to fill the air space between my shoulders and head.
