Low Quality Parts Break Easy

I could accept the initial high price if it meant higher quality and longer-lasting lifetime; but unfortunately this is a high maintenance device and the maintenance is guaranteed to break it. I thought it would supposedly clean itself, per the product description, but the in-the-box directions specifically show that you must regularly take it apart and clean it thoroughly yourself, and occasionally buy a new rod for it. The internal parts to keep this device working are made of frail, brittle, low quality components that break easily and won't be covered under warranty. Specifically, a pack of internal discs rotates on a rod axel disc to lift water for evaporation and the instructions recommend separating internal discs pack so you may clean each individually; but the discs don't lift off as the instructions indicate and they all snapped, cracked, and broke in the process of following the directions exactly. I've only had it for a month, and this was the first recommended interval for cleaning weekly/monthly. The discs cannot be individually replaced, and the collective disc replacement cost is a minimum of $50. I called the manufacturer and they said they only warranty a device that doesn't operate and they don't warranty breakage which I say is due to low quality parts. I say they guarantee breakage and not quality.

The only way I'd recommend this product is if you got a killer deal like I did on a floor model. Bed Bath used it for less than a year and put it on a shelf. They sold it to me, and I found out when I opened it that the shaft which turns the disc pack inside to lift water for evaporation was shattered due to use of cheap plastic and degrading over time. They claim a 10 year warranty, but they ignored my phone calls and emails, even with the receipt and pictures sent. I would not recommend this unit at this price, and I would not advise buying from AirOSwiss at all based on my warranty (lack of) experience.
