Bought this 2 weeks ago with a new battery from the store.I returned it cause it didn't seem to be working and got another one.This one isn't working either.I so hoped it help with the lab's barking NOT.Taking it back and going to look for something else.

Life Changing

I've had this product for several years and wouldn't give it up to save my soul. We had tried citronella collars, and just about everything else, to make our dog quit barking, yet our Eskimo-Daschund mix would not be deterred...until we got the Bark Off product. It is so effective that most times I can just say "alarm" and the dog will quit barking. The only negative is even when it is on low, the dog (and my son) can still hear the sound, and so we don't leave it on all the time; turning it on only when necessary. I'm now buying one to put in the yard near the neighbors fence to make their dog quit barking by my office. For $6-10.00 it can transform your life. There are more expensive products, but I'd give this a try - it transformed my work-at-home life by training my dog and controlling her barking humanely.

I see that this product didn't get good reviews. I bought this for my 2 yo small dog who likes to bark when I leave the house due to seperation anxiety. I placed the device by the door and left. He barked once and abruptly stopped (I'm assuming after hearing the sound). He tried barking one more time and again immediately stopped. After that he let out a few quite "yelps" as he knew if he barked he would hear the sound deterrent. Clearly, this product works! I'm shocked.

I purchased this at Bed, Bath & Beyond on a whim b/c it was on sale. This was totally an impulse and I didn't think I really expected it to worked, but it totally did. It worked so well to stop my dogs' barking that I wondered if it was too cruel. I could hear the whistling sound myself, like another reviewer said, but it wasn't unbearable to me by any means. Sadly, the product only lasted a few weeks before it stopped working. I replaced the battery, but it still didn't work. Boo...

I have two dachshunds who like to bark alot. This waste of money product did not affect them at all. I left it on for three days straight and they didn't acknowledge it at all and continued to bark. I finally turned it off when it started making a buzzing noise which was quite annoying. Don't waste your time or money!!

My two terrier puppies are real barkers, especially the male. He barks whenever and wherever. If the girl goes outside and he doesn't, he barks from the time she leaves until she gets back... Constantly. Most of the collar silencers wouldn't work on a small dog. I saw this product at Bed, Bath and Beyond and figured... what the heck, why not give it a try... It was the right price and if it didn't work, it wasn't a financial loss. Well, I put the battery in and gave it a try.. one bark... two barks and silence. It was amazing!!!! I don't keep it on all the time 'cause that might be cruel and I want them to bark if I am not home... but it is an amazing product... My puppies are about 10 pounds each. Whenever I turn it on, I know that there will be silence. I recommend this product to anyone and everyone...

Saved my hearing

Our neighbors to the rear have 2 large Pit Bull mix dogs which bark incessantly. I could not work in my back yard without these two at the fence barking and snarling at me, despite all my attempts to be friendly. One of the dogs bark is so shrill that I had to wear ear protectors. These dogs attacked a gas meter reader, resulting in the gas company refusing to send a reader into that yard. They now read that meter via binoculars from my yard. I purchased the Barkoff a couple of months ago. The first time I tried it, the dogs came barking and snarling at the fence, but then immediately hung their heads, whimpered, and retreated to the other side of their yard. Since then, I only have to have the Barkoff in my hand, and the dogs will retreat quietly. This device literally changed our lives from an unbearable situation, to a reclaiming of my back yard. I can now enjoy peace and quiet again! During these awful barking sessions, i would have gladly payed hundreds of dollars for an effective control. To achieve it for $7 is a miracle!

If you have a dog that is too calm, quiet, and not a good barker then this is for you!
This unit has the Opposite effect on my dogs!
They bark like crazy when it is used.
So now I keep it at the front door at night in case a robber tries to break in.
It's working great!

This bark control component does not work! I have two miniature schnauzers and turned the device on and they continued to bark. I would have returned but unfortunately lost my receipt. Very dissatisfied! False advertising.

I thought I found a great solution. I was wrong. It works on me, but not on our dog at all! I can hear the high-pitched sound whether it's set on low or high. I cover my ears to avoid that sound while our dog keeps barking. I'm returning this to the store.

this 'training aid' made my dog crazy...literally! we have 5 dogs from 3months to 8years and none of them noticed any noise when they barked except for my 8yo shepherd mix who would cock his head to the side and start searching for whatever high pitch sound it makes...he continued to do this search even after i turned it off...even after i returned it to the store. now he lays around the house staring at the floor and when he isnt staring, he is nosing the carpet...CONSTANTLY! this product has made my dog crazy and i cant break him of his quest to find the now nonexistent noise!!

i would NOT recommend this product to anyone who cares about the sensitivity of their dogs ears...and mental well being

This product BITES! Pun intended! I purchased this product because I have five little yappers. They bark if they hear a fly toot! I do not NEGLECT them, they come and go as they please in a HUGE fenced in yard, they constantly have someone willing to hold or play with them. But they bark and bark over nothing. 'Bark off' did nothing, they stood 1 foot away from this thing with it on and it did nothing. I bought three new batteries just to be sure, tried turning it on and off to be sure, and you would think out of FIVE dogs at least one of them would be affected by this thing if it worked. But to no avail we still have no relief from our little yappers or the new neighbors HUGE woofer!

Quieter dogs finally

We have 7 dogs and several are major barkers. We needed desperately to be able to control our barking problem as we live right in town. We purchased this barkoff ultrasonic device just because it was seen at the store. We were shocked to find that it has stopped 6 of our 7 dogs from barking! It does not seem to bother our smallest male papillon but the other 5 papillons and our huge minature pincher hate the sound it creates. We cannot hear anything. It also keeps our bird quieter! We are going to buy more and try them in our yard. They look nice on the wall also. We love this devise. We were very surprised. I did not think it would help at all. We are quite happy. So much quieter in our house now. Maybe 7 dogs is not to many to own and love!
