For the people who had trouble with it taking paint or finish off, you HAVE to be sure to remove it the right way. You have to grab an edge of it and stretch it sideways (just like those 3-M hook things) until it lifts right off. I suppose anything that's sticky...if you just RIP it off a wall without being careful could pull paint off with it.
UGlu is working great for me. I have hung several light wall hangings and also party decorations from the ceiling. It goes on clear and stays up. Not sure that I would trust it to work with anything really heavy though.

I love this stuff!!! I use it on anything and everything you can think of. I used it on my hardwood floors and dining room table for thanksgiving, as well as my walls and rugs and the stuff it amazing. I would have been lost without it. Now for Christmas I have already gone through 5 boxes and am on my way out the door to find more!! It hasn't ruined anything I've used it on and I start to panic when I'm running low.... haaaa!!!! GREAT STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used the tape on a carpet runner in the hallway on our hardwood floor. The tape works great until we tried to rip the carpet up and the tape peeled off parts of the hardwood floor top coat. I ended up leaving the carpet right where it was because I couldn't bare to see my floor being damaged anymore. :-(

This product works great. My purpose was to keep several carpets down in the house that were put on top of carpet and I had to keep rearranging them. These keeps them down and flat. Love it.

I bought this to hang a grid of 12 decorative mirrors on the wall. It's worked great and exactly as advertised. Nothing has fallen off, and it was easy to remove and re-adhere to the wall again. 12 mirrors holding strong for 4 months now!

We have found this product great for many uses on many different surfaces. We have used it to hold down smaller rugs on top of wall-to-wall carpet. My daughter used it to hang a large piece of artwork on her wall (7 art canvases put together) but this is on a newly painted wall. Perhaps the problems people are having is actually with the old paint on the walls and not with the UGlu itself ? I used it to repair the backing on my entertainment center. I have also used it to hang things in my kennel building, but this was on unpainted wood surfaces. I've been pretty happy with this product so far !!

My husband and I had purchased some UGlu for our apartment to keep from putting holes in the walls for our needs. After a month it came unglued from the wall, taking some of the paint/drywall off with it. It did hold for almost 3 months for our paper towel dispenser being attached to our cabinets. but that too came undone. It might be an okay sub for light jobs like posters but nothing else has stayed strong.

I used this product to put my Christmas lights up in the window. It has been up for 2 weeks and shows no signs of letting go from the window sill. I also used it to put a poster up on the wall and was able to remove it without taking the paint off the wall. It will be interesting to see how well it holds up on the window once the cold weather and snow begins. I definitely recommend this product when you don't want something to stay up permanently.

I was excited to see BB&B carrying this item after being sold by the infomercial one late night on t.v. While it does work for some light duty stuff (ex: the other reviewer using it to hold down rugs to the floor), in my experience, it did not work for medium duty jobs, such as trying to put up lightweight plastic 4-6 in length 2 in depth shelves. They just would not stick to the couple year old paint on the wall (not glossy paint either), nor would it hold up a 3M hook that I had removed and did not have any replacement tapes for. I thought this would be perfect for putting the hook back up, and while I used plenty of pieces of Uglue, it just could not withstand the weight of a towel as it claimed it could in the directions. Within a couple days the whole hook/towel combo would end up on the floor. Tried twice and cleaned the areas ahead of time with alcohol as directed to help adhesion. It says right in the directions that it is a liquid adhesive in a solid form, so I don't know how there wouldn't be movement when putting weight on this. I've found very limited uses for this, but for $10 I'm not too disappointed. Basically it's trial and error for deciding what it may or may not be used on. I've found anything that doesn't involve holding weight is fairly acceptable. I'd compare it more to that glue that holds coupons onto paper, samples onto a card in the mail or perfume samples in magazines, etc., that you can pull off in one pull and just kinda stretch and play with or ball up.

This stuff works awesome. I used it on my carpet and linoleum to stick a rug down. I used it to hang plastic hooks to wood, it works better than two sided sticky tape! I used it on tile that was lifting and it worked! I used it on a ceramic dish and it worked! There is unlimited things you can use this on. I go to it before I even think about super glue. I highly recommend this product!
