Nice look, poor longevity

I originally purchased two of these lamps about 4 years ago. They are very nice looking and economical at the outset. However they are NOT build to last. The first lamp failed very dramatically and dangerously. We turned on the lamp and in about 60 minutes the bulb exploded. Not only did it explode but it showered molten glass into our area rug. The rug was not salvageable. I count myself lucky that no one was injured.

Initially I was content to suspect a defective bulb or a production fluke in the manufacturing of the lamp. However, now that the other lamp has become a daily user it has only taken 6 months for the switch to begin to fail. The lamp has also developed an electrical buzzing. VERY DISAPPOINTED, DO NOT BUY.

I will be replacing this lamp tomorrow. It is unsafe. On a side note I still have the halogen floor lamp I bought in college for $30 buck and it works like a dream.

Excellent lamps for the price

I've had problems with all my lamps where they bend at the connection of the rod pieces, but these are perfectly straight! No wobble, very sturdy. Good looking lamps. Light bulbs were included, but aren't very bright, I might buy my own.

I love this lamp. We only had a dinning room ceiling lamp when we moved in. We needed one for the other side of the living room so we can have enough light. This lamp is perfect. it balances the light in the room beautifully. I like that it is an ambiance light that has just the perfect brightness.
