Sobakawa Pillow

This is a great pillow for those who have cervical spine (neck) problems. I have one of these buckwheat pillows that I bought at a now-defunct store in Sacramento, CA over 15 years ago and it's still good! However, recently, I could not find any brick and mortar store, including BB&B, that carried the pillow . Fortunately, BB&B online had the pillow!

Not for Me

Based on the reviews I read I thought this would be a good purchase. However, it was a waste of my money. I purchased 4 of these pillows and no one in my household found any benefit. No one slept better. As a matter of fact, they just did nothing for us. They may work for some pepole, but for my family - not worth it.

As a Chronic Migraine Sufferer, also Diagnosed with Fibromylagia, I have been waking up with migraines and neck pain everyday for the last 5 years of my life. I have tried at least 20 different pillows and countless combinations of them trying to find the right combo that would work for me. saw a mention of a buckwheat pillow on a Migraine Forum. Never heard of one. Hadnt tried it. Tried everything else. Knew I needed to get one. Purchased this one. Been using it for 2 weeks. only needed a migraine shot ONCE. this is unheard of for me. I have never slept so comfortably. This is the most amazing pillow. I never thought I would be raving about a pillow. But i was starting to lost hope that I would always wake up feeling horrible, and this is helping me. would highly recommend.

Sobakawa Buck Pillow

I was recommended this pillow by a chiropractor as a possible aid to constant muscle pain in my neck lasting for close to 18 months.
Admittingly, it took 2 weeks to get use to the pillow as it felt hard at the beginning. However, after getting through that period, I felt it quite comfortable and it is easy to shape it in the way that you feel most comfortable. The fact that it is smaller than a regular pillow didn't bother me at all.
The best part was my neck pain has resided in its entirety! I bought a second one for myself (for travelling) and then another one for a friend! It was worth every cent!

I had one of these a few years ago and absolutely loved it! It DOES help neck injuries and stiffness! I had divided the buckwheat hulls into two little pillows for my grandaughters. I recently bought this Sobakawa from Bed, Bath & Beyond and couldn't wait for it to get here! I get a full night's sleep, now! Many more people NEED to know about this one! Thank you!

I have a pinched nerve in my neck and have difficulty getting to sleep with standard pillows. I gave this a try and now don't know how I ever got by without one.

I love this pillow. I used to wake up during the night to fluff and turn my pillow when my neck became painful. Now I sleep through the night.

I started using one of these pillows years ago and have had three of them...they have saved me from waking up with a pain in my neck and I never travel without one and I make a lot of trips. For those of you that think the pillow is noisy, give it a chance and it does get "quieter" and you will be so much better rested. A godsend, no kidding!

This is the second Sobakawa pillow that I've had...quite a bit smaller than the Queen size I had first, but big enough for my head! Very comfortable and provides great support.

I purchased 2 Sobakawa Buck Pillows - one for each of my daughters. The pillows were recommended to us by two different family members who had purchased them for themselves and loved them. My daughters were complaining of sore necks from their previous pillows. Now they both say they sleep better and haven't had any neck soreness in the morning.
Complaints: one daughter had to get used to the 'noise' they make when the buckwheat is moving to form to your head/neck. The other daughter noted that the size is a bit smaller than a traditional 'standard' size pillow

I really love this pillow! I have back and neck problems and it certainly hasn't cured them, but it's definitely helped my neck a lot. It conforms to your head and offers great support. The only down side is that it is a little too full, it sits my head up a little higher than I would normally like.

I have had severe allergies and had a difficult time finding a pillow I wasn't allergic to, I have also had sciatic pain. This pillow is pefect! I LOVE this pillow. I have not had any problems with allergic reactions and my sciatic pain is almost non-existant since I sleep so much better. I find the size perfect, I can take it with me where-ever I go.I've had my pillow for 8 years, I'll never buy another type of pillow again. I Got one for my husband and children as well.

sobakawa buck pillow vs sobakawa cloud

I have been using the same Sobakawa buckwheat pillow since the mid 90's. Obviously I like it. I have never had a bad smell from it.
I have emptied the buckwheat in the past by making a slit near the seam, washed the liner and refilled it when totally dry then slip stitched it close.
My question is: Has anyone switched over to the cloud pillow from the buckwheat? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

I thought it would be bigger, it is rather small. But I should of paid attention to measurements. It takes alot of getting used too and is noisey. I think I would be happier if it were bigger - like a standard size bed pillow, as this size is more for traveling.

The only thing about this pillow I would change it the size. I wish is was larger.
I definitely get a more restful sleep each night with this pillow. I'm not tossing and turning all night because this pillow perfectly cradles my head and has firm, yet gentle, support.

I've always liked firm pillows, and this one has them all beat. It molds to the shape of your head, and holds it there until you decide to move. I definitely sleep better with this pillow--couldn't be happier!
