Such a powerful fan for its size...

I love this fan. It's pricey, but it is SO worth it. I can't wait to use it in my hot and stuffy dorm room... When I received this item, I was a little surprised - it's a LITTLE bigger than I thought it would be, but when I ever plugged it in... You can feel it from way across the room. When it says it pushes and circulates air 75 ft... it isn't kidding! Other reviews say it is VERY quiet - it isn't as quiet as I had hoped but it definitely isn't loud. After a few minutes you hardly notice the sound. Definitely worth the money :)

Great Apartment Fan

I normally buy cheap $25 oscillating fans, but decided to get something a little better this time. The reviews on Vornado fans brought me into the store to investigate and I loved this model (#633). It was $65 (plus the 20% off coupon)! I have an East-facing apartment, so it is stuffy when i get home. I put this fan on high in front of the sliding glass door and within 10 minutes I notice a temperature drop. I can feel the breeze it creates way over in the kitchen. Plus, it's quiet. Great for apartments or living room/kitchen areas. It does push a lot of air.

I should not have waited this long

This fan is everything I could have asked for. I recently purchased a 3rd floor condo. Who knew Chicago would have 80 degree tempature in March. I refuse to turn on the air, but the tempature inside was 81. This fan circulated the outside air and brought the inside temp down to 72. It allowed me to sleep. It does not make a lot of noise.

Shouldn't Have Waited So Long To Purchase

I have been eyeing a Vornado fan for at least two years after having used a friends for one night and remembering a good product. I recently purchased the midsize model from BB&B, and it has quickly transformed my apartment into a much more pleasant place, in more ways than one.
The first thing you notice is that the unit has POWER: On the lowest setting it puts out about as much as an average fan on HIGH, and on it's highest setting the Vornado is unrivaled to any household fan I've experienced. It moves a LOT of air, and quickly cools down my studio apartment. The air it pushes is calm and pleasant, and I don't have any issues with swirling or random fluttering. It just works, and works amazingly well.
The second thing the fan has done is solve the noise problems in my apartment. I live near the front (metal) gate that bangs loudly in the mornings, and my ceiling creaks when the upstairs neighbor walks around. I also live near the street and get car noises frequently. On any setting, the Vornado drowns out all of this noise, and keeps me much more sane. It's important to note also that the fan noise, while present, is an extremely good white noise that you quickly forget about. It is very similar to air coming out of a grate in a central air/heating unit. I almost like this feature more than the way it cools; the agreeable noise it makes is extremely important to me.
I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and definitely should NOT have waited 2 years for this fan. I used a 20% off coupon and payed just over $50. Worth every penny, and if you want to save a little more, the smaller unit will cost about $35. That one seems to move air about as quickly and effectively, just less of it (if you stand in front of the fan, the "stream" of air coming at you has a smaller circumference.)
*A sidenote: This is the 633 model, which I can only seem to find at BB&B in the U.S. The more commonly sold model is the 630B, and apart from appearance they are almost identical in function.

This fan moves a lot of air and is very quiet on the lowest speed. On extra warm nights i kick it up to the second of three speeds and the sound does not keep me awake. I highly recommend it!
