What the... ?!?

I was so excited to finally organize my shoes! It is just not happening with this item. It came with metal hooks to hang it up with over the door. However, there is no way to attach the metal hooks to the shoe organizer! It looks like there are tabs to slip the hooks through, but the tabs are completely sown up! Weird... I will be exchanging this item.

Poor design - Be glad they are out of stock!

Had I not brought this 1200 miles to my daughter's dorm I would have brought it back. The bent metal brackets that go over the door are supposed to fit into a sewn pocket on the back of the organizer. The pockets are sewn too small and no amount of effort could get them into the pocket with ripping the weak sewing job that held them in place. If they had fit they would not have lasted under the weight of all the shoes it could hold.
This should be a "Real Simple" product to get right. Not this time, far off the mark.

How does this thing hang?

I realize I'm a complete moron, but I have no idea how this thing hangs. I see how the hooks fit over the door, but there's nothing on the back of the organizer to hook onto. Am I missing something?

Someone posted on Real Simple magazine to use this for a stuffed-animal organizer for your kids. I did that and it was the best idea ever. My girls have little "homes" for each of their friends on the back ofo their door and we even posted pictures of who goes where behind each strap. It holds 24 medium-sized stuffed animals securely and it's very cute!

I am a size 6, so this is great & isn't too tight on my shoes. I put both shoes in one elastic band for more storage. Shoes are secure. This is such a cute shoe organizer. Great to leave closet door open & shoes on display.

This is great for those HUGE basketball shoes! None of the other over the door or hanging shoe racks work for the giant, size 13 basketball shoes! This one WORKS!

It looked like a good idea but the elastic straps were tight enough to smash some of my shoes out of shape.

Good for people with small shoes

I wear a size 10 woman's wide. While my shoes fit in this organizer, it's a tight fit. I spend more time trying to get my shoes in and out of the elastic straps. The little shelf isn't sturdy enough to hold anything larger than heels or pumps. I can't put my clogs, wedges, or espadrilles in this holder. I never used it and ended up giving it to my friend who wears a size 5 woman's. She loves it.

Decent shoe rack

I like this shoe rack because it's pretty flexible in terms of what size shoes will work for it. Many pocket-style shoe organizers won't fit larger shoes, so that's why I went with this one (just has an elastic band, no pocket). I have been using it for months now. My shoes fit easily (size 8.5) and my husband's shoes also fit for the most part (size 15). My husband's shoes are on the longer side and intrude on the flaps a bit, but his shoes wouldn't normally fit in a typical over-the-door shoe rack anyway. I recommend it! It loses a star because the metal hook blocks our closet door from closing all the way.

Works well, as long as you don't have huge shoes

This works well for my wife's sandals and sub-size 5 shoes. My size 11 sneakers barely fit without intruding into the "shelf" (it's really a supported flap) above.
Otherwise, it works well so far. I am a bit concerned that the fabric pockets that the door hooks slip into will eventually tear, though.
