OK so I bought this organizer in store, but I didn't take it out of the bag at the store. I got it home and went to set it up and it smelled so bad! It was a chemical concoction! I thought maybe let it air out a bit but to no avail. Im glad that I didn't put it up in my closet thinking the smell would go away in time. This is a shame because I was going to use it to organize my purses. It really is perfect for that, with large and small places for handbags, totes and clutches. I just couldn't get past the chemical smell. I will only buy canvas from now on.

Can use for shoes, belts, boots and almost anything else. Velcro closure is very strong. There was a slight odor when I took it out of the package but it really is not as bad as others have complained. I let it air out for a few hours and Febreezed it before putting it in my closet. Smell went away in 2-3 days. Overall good organization piece.

This shoe organizer smells very strongly of chemicals. We hung it outside for 24 hours to air out, and the smell did not go away. The smell is repulsive and unbearable, so we will be returning.

I bought the Real Simple shoe and boot organizer a couple of weeks ago along with other Real Simple products. I love this product because it has space for my boots, belts, scarves, socks, you name it. However, I did not give it the full five stars because it still takes up a good bit of space in my closet, but it is definately worth buying.

This is a great shoe organizer; I have a lot of boots, so being able to store my nicer boots in their own slot is great. Holds tons of shoes, very roomy compartments. The smaller slots at the bottom/top are perfect for flip-flops, sandals.

I like being able to hang it on a closet rod vs. over the door. I was a little worried the velcro closure/wraparound wouldn't be able to handle the weight of all my shoes, but it's super sticky/sturdy.
