Looks really good. Functionally good. Would recommend full installation to optimize the best functionality. In other words, you must install with screws as app posed to just using the adjustment screws to keep the gate from slightly shifting. The shifting does not allow clasp to work properly.

1) if you get this at your baby shower take it back right away. You only have a one year warranty on most things, better to have it start when you are actually using the item
2) keep your receipts. even gift receipts
I wish I knew then what I know now. I received this at my baby shower and thought it looked cute. Well it does but unfortunately I didn't open it until about 1 year later (when my child was mobile) and when I went to set it up the gate latch was broken and the screws that keep it secure would not latch (they just slide in and out).
I called to get it replaced but 1) it was over a year 2) i don't have the receipt...it was a gift.
There is only a 1 year warranty on the gate which seems fine for wear and tear but this was an obvious problem with the manufacturing. I have had problems with other summer infant products but as a new parent I didn't know any of this stuff when I was registering.
My advise is to either open this the day you receive it to make sure all the parts work will or take it back and get a gate when you actually need it.
We also have a gate I bought for $15 (as opposed to this gate which was $70). It came preassembled, and works great. It doesn't look as nice but since this one is going straight into my trashcan who cares.
