Like another reviewer I have pockets that I want to reduce over the next six months using the Platinum waterpik. pros:
quiet operation attractive strong jet. ( I've used for 2 weeks and still am not above setting 6) lots of attachments cheaper blue color waterpik model extremely noisy (avoid it) cons:
As mentioned in other reviews the tank is to small to finish the entire job. A workaround is to have an large water glass filled ready to pour into the tank as it gets low. This will provide enough for the full cleaning.
To me it's a great product that works well.

Can't wait to see denist and see the positive results. Thought there would be splashing all over but did not occur.

Deficient Water Tank Capacity

The WP-100 water reservoir is too absurdly small! Other Waterpik table top models have a 1000 ml tank; this one holds only 600 ml.
Switching the Waterpik off when you're just partially done, removing the tank to refill it, then reassembling the unit -- all this before you can get back to the job -- is tiresome and ANNOYING. That said, this latest model is (1 star) more functional and (2nd star) more attractive than any of Waterpik's earlier fine products.

I purchased my Waterpik from BB&B about 8 months ago on the recommendation of a client, not my periodontist. I visit my periodontist 3 times a year due to deep pockets and have even had gum reduction surgery on one area of my mouth. After using the Waterpik for about 1 month I went to the periodontist for a cleaning and there was some reduction in my pocket depth but recently I returned after using it nightly (sometimes during the day) for about 8 months and my pocket numbers went from 7's and 8's in some areas to 3's and 4's which is awesome!!! No wonder the periodontist never recommended it to me. He'll lose $1000's in surgery costs from me. I have recently purchased the travel size for my office so I can use it after every meal and take it with me on trips. Even if you don't have deep pocket issues it just makes your mouth feel REALLY really clean!!! I highly recommend it!

The platinum is a great product! I tried the hand-held battery operated but even on low setting it is way too much pressure so decided to try this one since it has 10 settings, it's great - I use the lowest setting right now and it's great - not harsh on gums, etc. at all! God Bless!

Initially cautious, I discussed water picks with my dental hygeinist and was told they really do work. So I got this product and it is wonderful. Quick, easy to use and my teeth and gums feel really clean afterwards.

Had a very old one. It didn't feel like the pump was working as hard as when it was new. Decided to replace it with this one. If you want to save your teeth you need one of these whether you floss daily or not. This one is compact, well designed and works. What more do you want?

I am on my 6th waterpik in the last 5 years. Maybe I am unlucky, but I cannot believe that this has the worst manufacturing; the button sticks, on everyone except the current one I am using, now this one, the actual pik won't stay in the stem/holder. I keep taking them back and they replace them, but some have not lasted 6 mos. I am actually looking for a different brand, I am not hard on things, and how can you be hard on a water pik, you fill it with water, and turn on and turn to the intensity you want, I just have gotten every defective one that has ever been made for Bluffton, SC. Right now, I need to use it, and it doesn't work. I guess if I take back, they can give me a new one, and I just keep taking them back if I can't find a different manufacturer.

Great for Dental Implants

I was having an issue with a relatively new dental implant. My dentist suggested, before doing anything drastic, i try a Waterpik. He was right. It gets in around the implant where floss never could, and the problem has cleared up. It makes such a difference in my teeth and gums that I WANT to use it, even more than once a day. Do you ever hear that about flossing? It is smaller than I expected, and stores easily in an "over john" cabinet. If you have to leave it out, you may find this silver-colored one at 3B more stylish than the blue one everyone else carries.

I have been using this brand of water flosser for more than a decade and upgraded to this one when my standard model died. This is the ultimate machine. It is so quiet and the pressure is very consistent and even on the high settings it does not brutalize my gums. I hope to get 7 years from this one like I did my last Waterpik. Very pleased with my purchase. Love it.
