This professional quality steamer is ideal for steaming asparagus and other long vegetables, as well as making small batches of stocks, sauces and soups. The steaming basket fits easily into the pot to separate vegetables from stock. The stainless steel construction is naturally non-corrosive and does not react with food or food odors, and the five-layer encapsulated base eliminates hot spots. The polished exterior is easy to clean and maintain. Hollow rolled stainless steel handles are designed to stay cool longer on the stove top, and are riveted to withstand a lifetime of heavy use. The tempered glass lid is shatter resistant and lets you view your food while cooking. Oven safe up to 350° F. For use on electric coil, gas top and ceramic smooth tops. Includes 3 1/2-quart steaming pot, steaming basket and tempered glass lid. Hand wash. Limited lifetime warranty.

I had been looking for an asparagus steamer long before I knew such a shaped pot existed. As a single person who likes to cook, I had been having trouble making a meal for just me. I had made stocks for dozens. I had fried potatoes for hundreds. I had not even attempt braising. Whom would I feed an entire chicken to? Then I found the perfect solution: the asparagus steamer. I add enough oil to cover a small amount of sliced sweet potato for frying. Cover a half dozen chicken bones for making stock. Braise a small portion of pork shoulder for carnitas. The thickness of pot is not ideal, but it is a great value.
