Better Slow Cooker than I Even Knew!

I had begun to use my slow cookers to cook acidic foods such as sauerbraten. Quite by accident one day, I came upon claims of lead in slow cooker crocks. I became concerned since food is in the cooker for prolonged periods and I hoped to feel comfortable using it frequently. I wrote to Cuisinart about my Cuisinart 3.5 quart programmable slow cooker. They responded promptly and said that there was ABSOLUTELY NO LEAD IN ANY PART of the slow cooker! Wow! I plan to buy a second one. I have a much larger slow cooker in another brand, but this size is so much easier to handle when serving or when washing it. Knowing that the crock is lead-free and safe to use even with acidic foods makes it all the better! I'm sold. I recently bought a Cuisinart hand mixer and Cuisinart 12-cup food processor. I am very impressed. I may just stick with this brand for all my new small appliance purchases.

So Disappointed

Used this brand new slow cooker for the 1st time today - it kept turning itself off! Won't cook at all! Didn't reach safe temp, so have to throw out the food (a chicken dish)!!! Customer Service had me try different outlets - still turned itself off. Now I have to make a special trip to the store to return it. Very disappointed as I thought Cuisinart would be a good one. This one sure isn't.

Easy to program and clean. Perfect size for a small household. Outside is stainless and gets super hot (so be careful when lifting crock out). My husband and I have enjoyed it!

Very happy with this crockpot. Love the automatic timer. Not very heavy and easier to clean than my old one.

I've always loved my Cuisinart food processors, coffee pots, etc. so I decided to give their crock pot a try once I realized my larger Rival crock pot would burn everything I put in it! I've used the high, low and simmer settings in this pot, and everything I've made has come out perfect! The smaller size is ideal as well since I'm only cooking for 2. The pot cleans and is tucked away easily. I cannot say enough how much I love this slow cooker! The only 'bad' thing about it is that the lids moves a bit while cooking, but not enough to be concerned with loss of heat or even really enough to hear if you aren't standing right over it. Best $50 I've spent in a long time!

Excellent cooker

This is a wonderful slow cooker. And its as elegant as a kitchen appliance can get. It has 4 heat ranges an is the perfect size and shape for cooking a small to medium size family meal. I've made terrific pea soup, chicken cacciatore and perfect slow cooked Tex Mex chile in it. With the simmer setting you can slow cook using your old Crock Pot recipe low settings and not over cook any thing. Auto warm feature really works well and frees you to make dinner perfectly cooked without having to tend to anything. I must say that this is my second Cuisinart that I tried, the first one boiled on high after 4 hours so I took it back to BB&B and exchanged it for a Kitchen Aid 4qt slow cooker that promised to be better with the Opti Heat feature that turned out to remain Opti stone cold dead. So back it went and fortunately it was the last one that they had. So I tried the Cuisinart again upon the clerks recommendation. I did notice that the new cooker's lid fit better onto the ceramic pot. The first pot was out of round and prevented a good vapor seal from forming and so it kept over heating causing steam to escape. But this pot's lid and lip seated perfectly and with no more boiling. Love this cooker and the great meals it has made so far after one month.

I found this cooker to be easy to use, very easy to clean, and easier to store than larger cookers. It does exactly what I need it to. Easy to program, and 4 heating settings.

I love this crockpot- it's easy to store, clean, and use. My favorite feature is that you can program in your own time. Previous crock pots I had only had preset times, so this is a great feature for me. It also has a warm feature and 24 hour programming, so it's great to leave food in during the day and have dinner ready when you get home.
