the scale didn't even work...I called the 1-800 number and asked if they would just send a new battery but they said I would have to return the entire scale. I could return it to a store so I do intend to return it but I was really looking forward to using it..I could go and purchase a new battery but one comes with the scale....

Read the reviews on here and they were hit or miss, so I still decided on spending a little bit more and figured in the long run the product would be better and more of what I'd like. WRONG. Opened the box, hit the "On/Tare" button, the 0.00 oz shows up, but you put something on there and it doesn't work. Tried different surfaces, tried at home, at work, pushed with my hand..nothing. Have to return it. Will have to waste my time, drive back and try this one more time. Seems the craftsmanship is no good for being a moderately priced item at $19.99 in IL. Should have just got the plastic one that wasn't digital, at least it would have taken a read.

Great Scale NOT dishwasher safe

I purchased the scale and use it regularly. The top is removable, so I removed it and put it in the dishwasher to clean--bad idea! The screw mechanism separated from the glass top. The adhesive that holds the top and screw mechanism together failed. I have purchased another unit because the scale is that good. The scale has made a world of difference in my baking outcomes.

Best little scale

I had no problem with this scale at all, like other reviewers have had. The scale is so easy to use, all you is press one button to turn on and place what you are weighing on the glass top. I love it, works perfectly, have had for over a year and haven't replaced batteries yet. Buying a 2nd one for the office to weight my takeout. Highly recommend and exceeds expectations for such a low cost item.

Awesome little scale

I am about to head to the store to buy a replacement for my last scale. Since I first bought this scale it looks like the manufacturer has teamed up with the Biggest Loser folks and slapped their name on it, but it is still the same scale.

Why am I replacing it if it's so fantastic? I melted it. I do a lot of smoking of jerky, and after the last pan of wood chips has smoked out, I move my electric smoker to my marble counter top in the kitchen to continue dehydrating the meat as it is too cold outdoors to continue to stay out there.

After 8 hours of sitting on my counter top, I removed the smoker and weighed up my portions of jerky. Fantastic little scale, has served me faithfully for years, measuring with great accuracy in pounds, ounces and even grams. I have knocked it around, spilled liquids on it, the thing has seen a lot of use.

But after all that, it was the scorching counter top that did it in. I didn't know until the next morning when I tried to turn it on. Thought the battery finally gave out, turned it over and saw the distorted frame and base. Poor lil guy never had a chance.

So I raced to my computer to see if BB&B still sold this scale and was relieved to find they did, albeit under a different marketing name. I am keeping my old glass top to it, just in case I ever need to replace it, and look forward to many more years with a trusty, reliable, dependable scale. Great price to boot!

I purchased this scale on 2/27/11 and used it 3 times a day. Seemed to work fine as far as I know..but then on 3/1/11, it started messing up, giving me all kinds of negative numbers, different readings for the same measurement, no way to calibrate it...changed battery, no improvement. I have a small digital scale that i pulled out to compare, and the measurement is way off...WAY below what it should be. This scale will definatly be going back..even though I had to dig the box and receipt out of the trash, they will get it ALL back. The biggest loser scale is just that...the biggest LOSER!
