I bought this knife set over 4 years ago and I'm very pleased! I sharpen them only occasionally and they still cut like new. They do not rust if they are taken care of properly. I never put them in the dishwasher and dry them immediately after washing. No problems at all. For the price, I would highly recommend.

Rusted blades

We just returned these knives because they were rusting after only 6 weeks. We always hand wash them; we don't even have a dishwasher and they were always perfectly dry before they were put back into the block.

Got these knifes for our shower in October '11 and they are amazing!! So sharp that I sometimes worry using them when home alone!! A few people mentioned they rusted and the handles turned gray, I could only see this happening if they put them in the dishwasher. The person who helped us pick them out made sure we knew that no good knife should go in the dishwasher. Yes its a pain to hand wash them but they are worth it! Because I don't like to hand wash the I gave 4 stars, but they are awesome!

Worst Knives EVER!!!

I got this knife set as a wedding gift and they rusted within two weeks! They are fantastic for cutting, but I was disappointed when I found rust so quickly. Also, the handles turn grey when washed...don't expect them to keep their nice black color after using them. I'm definitely returning them. They are a complete waste of money!!! Don't bother with them.

We got these knives september 4th for our wedding off our registry as a gift.
They are now rusted and stained to colors of dark grey and brown. They are being returned. Save your money and do not waste them on these. They are also made in China. These are not german steel. These are a rip off.

Amazing Knives!

My husband and I went to BB+B and spoke to a very helpful gentleman who worked in the knife department there. He recommend these knives that fit into our price range and are VERY sharp. These are japanese inspired knives which means they are pretty lightweight. The back of the knife (the end of the blade and the front of the handle) does NOT have a protected edge like most other knives, so you must watch your knuckles when cutting. Also, the tips of the knives are very sharp, I was cutting some cucumbers (which cut like butter) and poked my thumb and cut it open. These knives are exceptional, I would recommend them to anyone!

I got this set of knives from my husband for Christmas. They are great. They are very sharp and makes chopping real easy. I was cutting fat of a piece of meat and it felt as if I were cutting a piece of butter. You have no idea how much time it has saved me. I love to cook and this set has made my cooking experiences much better. Be careful with them, without realizing as I was chopping I skinned my finger (I was in a rush).

We got this knife set with money given to us as a gift for our wedding. It is the first really nice set I have ever owned. They work really well, especially if you do as recommended, use a bamboo cutting board and sharpen them everyonce in a while. We never put them in the dishwasher, and they still look new. I used them approx 5 times a week, with the exception of the scissors, I used those 3-4 times a day! The main complaint I have is that the groves that keep food from sticking on the sudoku knife are only on one side. I knew this purchasing the set, but figured it would be ok. Well, I've realized from experience that having those groves on both sides really helps with day to day cooking. Other than that, they have been great and I hope to use them for years to come. (We've had them for about a year now).
