Still Breaking after all these Years

I thought the problem of breaking clips of the popping base to the power unit would have been solved. WRONG! I used the machine only 3 times when the plastic that holds the locking clips in place broke and the unit is no longer useable. I am returning the unit to the store and not buying another one. The electric poppers seem to be fraught with problems these days. Going to try a stainless stove top model with metal gears.

Easy to use

I love this product, but I have had two of them and with in 2 months the sides that attach the hot plate to the base seem to break. When that happens the hot plate does not secure to the base and does not get a even heat. I don't know who to call about this, and I can not find my booklet on it.

It took me a bit to find the perfect combo. I ended up using coconut oil with Amish popcorn. The maker is great,but cleaning the top portion can be time consuming due to the waves. You must pay attention when it's almost done popping. Can burn easily.

Should be taken off the market

For three times the popcorn maker did a wonderful job; however, on the forth batch the electrical switch mounting broke allowing the switch back to contract internal metal parts in the popcorn maker. The potential for electric contact exists.
I contracted Cuisinart's Customer service. They were very intransigent and insisted that I pay for shipping their defective device back to them for service and include a $10 check to cover returning it back to me. That would amount to over 30% the cost of the unit. This is not customer service. They would not budge from their position.

I love the pop corn popper however, I am on my third one. The first one broke on each handle where it hindges on to heater portion of popper, little parts break off that hold it on ther heater oneach side. I returned it and and they sent me a new one. Then the 2nd one broke in the same two places on each handle (hindges) as well, but they would not replace it again. (Cuisinart Company) I was given a third one for Christmas 2011 and it just broke in the same exact spots. All three of them broke within a 3 month period of being new. I admit I make alot of popcorn. Three to four times a week. But for the price of $60.00 they should last longer than three months.

Works greak, breaks easy

This machine actually DOES do a very good job of popping corn. You can actually use VERY little oil as well (once it gets used a few times.) Normally I pop 3T of corn with 1t of oil. Gives it just enough 'stick' for the salt. Loved mine in the first month so much, bought one for mom. By 6 months one side clip and busted on mine, plus the whole bottom piece that holds the stirring thing in literally crumbled. Mom, who used normal oil, experienced pretty much the same thing (both clips went instead.) It's just not worth it. I now pop popcorn in a teflon wok with a lid. Works AWESOME.

major flaw in demo

Upon viewing the demo the first thing I noticed was that it did not show the lady removing the pop corn from the popper. To me that was the most important thing to see about its operation. So weighing that against the ease of popping, and the one review about the broken clips, I came up with the "major flaw in demo" statement. I have yet to decide to buy so I only gave it a 3 star. I was impressed about the cleanup aspects. It would be a big advantage for you to correct the demo.

File this one under the category: They Just Don't Make Things The Way They Used To. I had a hot air popper for close to 15 years and it finally died, so I did a lot of research and replaced it with this one - mind you, it was more than I wanted to spend on a pop corn maker. I had it just a few weeks when one of the handle release clips broke as I was removing the bowl from the heating unit. I dropped the whole top, and the plastic cracked but did not break. I saved the pieces of the handle and kept using the popper, thinking I would try to make it work. Recently the other handle release clip broke, forcing me to grab the scorching hot popping pan, and burning my finger.

Poor design, flimsy materials. Bad product.

The only reason it got two stars is because when it works, it makes good popcorn.

Great improvment over our old Cuisinart PartyPop, the new pop plate includes the heating element so it can be replaced if it dies, which was a deadly flaw in the old partyPop. The new vented bowl makes crisper pop corn.

One of the reasons I bought this popcorn popper was because it had its own bowl. The plastic lid will NOT stay on the bowl and for the amount I paid, I think it should. Otherwise, It works fine.

Cuisinart® EasyPop™ Popcorn Maker is extremely simple to clean, put together, and use. The result is fresh popcorn that can be customized to suit anyone's tastes. A small improvement would be a stronger motor to stir the kernels. Overall, it's much better than the bagged popcorn you buy at the grocery store and I'm very happy with my purchase.

We received this popper as a wedding gift because my husband loves popcorn. However, within the first several times of using the product, the handles on each side of the base snapped off. Which is a shame because it does make good popcorn and leaves very little unpopped kernels in the bottom.
