The Shin Cha tea press combines the look of a traditional spouted teapot with a press-pot system. It is made of ultra light, heat-resistant borosilicate glass which allows tea lovers to visually enjoy the rich colors their favorite teas offer. Simply place loose leaf tea directly into the stainless steel strainer and fill pot with hot water. Allow the tea to steep as desired. Pressing the plunger pushes the tea leaves below the infusion holes and cuts off access between the water and the tea leaves, completely stopping the brewing process. With this press-pot method, the infuser does not need to be removed in order to prevent bitter over-brewing. If a second pot is desired, simply lift plunger and add hot water to re-use tea leaves. Tea bags may also be used instead of loose leaves. The entire unit is dishwasher safe.
