I received this as a gift from my wedding registry! I love it! Easy to clean and works well. I've used it to purée cauliflower and it worked well, and its a lot quieter than I thought it'd be!

My husband favorite blender

This blender works extremely well for my husbands protein drink. It cleans up with no residue left in the blade area. The beaker is not big enough for his drink, but we purchased larger ones and he is happy. It is generally not used for anything else. Just bought him this second one in case Cruisinart doesn't make them anymore as manufacturers are wont to do.

A friend gave me this for Christmas- It is a wonderful addition to my kitchen tools. I make a lot of soup and this purees things in seconds! I have bought 3 more to give to my married children for their birthdays. I recommend this for anyone who enjoys cooking!

Motor Burned Out

I loved this product at first- using it twice a day for smoothies. I would use it for ice cream, yogurt, and various soft and small pieces of fruits. I noticed that the motor heated up rather quickly and sometimes even smelled hot. I do have four kids that all wanted smoothies along with Mommy so it was used multiple times every time I used it. I bought it in the store on 11/04/2011 and the motor completely burned out when I used mint chocolate chip ice cream, a month later. I was so sad as I loved this product! I emailed Cuisinart and they wanted me to pay $10. to ship it to them for a replacement, so I decided to look into Bed Bath & Beyond's return policy- which I'm glad I did... it is now two months after the purchase and they said to bring it to the store for an exchange with no problem! I hope the second one works out! Will update.

I've used the Smart Stick for two years. I make my own organic dips, spreads, soups, etc. especially great for making pesto. Load all ingredients in a deep narrow glass bowl. within a couple of minutes you have a smooth, great tasting pesto. It can heat up, but I've never had any problems with the motor burning out. Go slow and easy. Smaller pieces are better.

Our first one did burn out fairly quickly--within 2 months. Bed Bath & Beyond replaced it and we now have had this one about two years and it has worked great. We used it almost solely for soups.

I use this nearly every single day, and the only reason that I am getting a new one is because my husband put it on the bottom rack of the dishwasher and it fell through and got destroyed by the heating element. I have not had any problems with it whatsoever, and I've had it for 2 and a half years. Best gift I ever got.

I am not a frequent user of this product so I have not had any complaints about it burning out. I mostly use it for soups. It handled a gazpacho just fine, blending hard chunks of cucumber and onion. Even easier with something like a butternut squash soup.

Burns out quickly

The blender works great...until it burns out. We use it only for protein shakes, nothing heavy duty. I have been through 3 of these in the past 2 years. It does have a 3 year warranty but by the time you pay to ship it to Cuisinart and the required $10 you are spending almost what you pay for a new one. I plan to research some models that can last a little longer.

The Blender Cooks!

I bought this stick blender to make an occasional soup and sauce. Not heavy duty use. This stick blender worked well beyond my expectations for the $$$. I have made a few soups using this and they all came out really smooth. It made quick work of lightly boiled broccoli in a cheddar bean broccoli soup.

LOVE this hand mixer!!

I bought a Cuisinart Smartstick hand mixer 2 years ago when I found out I was pregnant with twins, thinking I would be all healthy and make fruit smoothies and what not. I only made 1 smoothy then, ha, but this blender was a LIFE SAVER when it came to mixing up baby formula!! With 2 babies we made twice as much formula as most people and this blender mixed even the clumpiest of formula with ease to a smooth liquid. And it was a breeze to clean - we just tossed it in the d/w! We mixed formula with the smartstick SEVERAL times a week for at least 10 months, and it still operates like new with plenty of oomph. I have recommended this hand mixer to all of the moms on my twin forum.

We have went through 2 of these in the past few years. Our first one lasted 2 years and the second one has only lasted 6 months - both motors burned up (not as in fire - but like a moaning noise and then no power). We used it every morning to make protien shakes. Love the hand blender....but didn't save the box, etc. We're reading reviews on the higher priced models - hopefully they have stronger motors!
