I purchased this set based on some other positive reviews and the reasonable price. I was not happy with the quality. The metal base is cheaply made and it was dented from shipping. The whole thing felt flimsy so I returned it to the store. I ended up spending $30 more to get a Swiss made classis fondue pot from another store that was so much better.

I have always liked to Fondue, this just makes it so that I can Fondue at home!! Love it!! The fact that I did not have to buy two separate bowls to melt oil and chocolate/cheese makes it even better.

I disagree with the earlier review. I've had this pot for 3 years, and I have 2 other pots - this one is the best, especially for the money. I LOVE that it comes with the separate ceramic bowl for cheese/chocolate, and the lazy susan ceramic bowls for the condiments. All fondue pots get warm on the bottom, so I'd recommend always having protection underneath a pot and not having it on bare wood. One of the ceramic bowls broke last time I used it and I'd love to know how to get a replacement for it (older model with the brown rounded bowls).

Purchased this product for Cristmas. We realize that such items generate heat and get hot. We placed extra padding underneat but the heat was so intense our cherry table was badly scrothed. Should have a better base to absorb the heat. BE CAREFUL.
