Do NOT buy this piece of junk!

I wish I had read the other reviews before I bought this thermometer today. It is going back tomorrow! The power button is almost imposible to turn on, and when it does, it does not stay on. It shows all meats, then some meats, then nothing! When I did finally get it to stay on, it showed the ambient air temperature as 71 degrees, and then kept rising until it hit 84 degrees, which it was not! Absolutely not reliable for accurate cooking temperature. Wish I could give it less than one star.

Horrible Meat Thermometer

This meat thermometer broke within 6 months of buying it and we hardly used it. The metal part ripped of the white base as we were pulling it out of meat. It is poorly made and you can tell as soon as you open the packaging. I bought the Taylor electronic meat thermometer in store from Bed Bath and Beyond and the quality of the product is so much better for the same price as this one. It reads the temperature of the meat faster and it even measures the air temperature when taken out of the meat, which makes me feel better that the thermometer is reading the correct temperature of the meat. The Polder one didn't do that.

I bought this just a few weeks ago and it is the worse piece of junk.. It turns itself on and off and flips to a different meat than what I had it set for. Don't waste your money!!!!

I purchased this at my local BB&B store as it was the only instant read there. I do think it's accurate, however, it always sounds like it's dying when I turn it on and off. It seems like it takes a long time to read the temp and I thought an instant read would be much faster. It also feels cheap, like it's going to fall apart. I will try something else when this one no longer works.
