A Huge Step Up

I had what I thought was a fairly decent Hamilton Beach toaster oven for about 2 years, but it was fading fast on me - door was hard to close, slow to heat up, uneven heating when it did. So I decided to shop for a new one and did a lot of research before narrowing my choices down to this Cuisinart and a very similar Breville model. I read reviews and they were glowing on both. I decided to get the Cuisinart because I have owned a Cuisinart Griddler for about 2 years and am impressed with its versatility plus how solidly built it is.
This toaster oven is no different.. We easily use this 6-7 times a week and there is nothing we have cooked in it that hasn't been outstanding. We do side dishes, baked potatoes, pizza, cinnamon rolls, heat bread, and have even roasted a turkey breast in it. Everything comes out perfectly cooked.
This toaster oven is as solidly built as the Griddler - quality materials, trays slide in and out effortlessly, opening and closing the door is a snap as well. It is not just a tin breadbox with a heating coil soldered to it which I am now believing is what my old Hamilton Beach was. We are finding ourselves using this little gem more than we do our much larger conventional oven.
I've seen reviews written by people who are frustrated with the operation of the keypad which programs the various cooking/toasting functions. All I can say is take the time to read the instructions and you'll find the programming to follow a logical and easy sequence.

Cuisinart Toaster Oven

I've had the oven just a few weeks. Due to my kitchen being remodeled and having a big delay, I have not used the oven for any baking projects yet. I think the toast is great. Takes a bit of time, I think, but gives a good even product. Have not tried more than two pieces at a time. Works well in frozen pizza.

Great as most Cruisinart products are. I have several Cruisinart appliances and love them all. This needs to have the crumb catcher in the front or the side for easier cleaning. It's a pain to have to turn the oven around each time you use it to clean it. Also, need to toast faster.

i got this for my birthday last year. never had much use for toaster ovens as i thought they were just another gadget i didn't need. well, this one is a must have. it fits on the counter, but holds a good amount. the temperature is precise, easy to use, heats up quickly, and cooks evenly. i can make a 12in. frozen pizza in it. it won't hold a 9-13in. pan but it can hold anything up to 12in. also love the fact that the convection is optional. i use it when i want. some convection toaster ovens have the convection on all the time. not always needed. this oven is especially useful when entertaining, and for the holidays. as you can cook/bake your sides as you use your full size oven for larger items, i.e. turkey, lamb, roasts. well worth the price.

If you don't have your own house, It's really hard to use big oven. Because either the oven is really old or there is no instruction... But now, my daughter and I can bake whatever we want! Yeah~

We ordered the Cuisinart convection toaster oven through the store last Saturday and it was shipped to us in 2 1/2 business days; excellent customer service. I have used the oven twice and I love it. I broiled burgers, and baked pork chops. Both came out tender and juicy, probably the best pork chops I have ever made. I would recommend this product.

I absolutely LOVE this toaster oven! I have had it for about a year now, and have used used every feature, which all are very convenient and clearly marked. I cannot believe that it is no longer in the store,\. It is the best that I have come across. I had the cuisinart that is the cheaper version of this, for about $129. and returned it because you could not see the knobs and very difficult to operate. This was so worth the extra money, which I resisted for awhile, but will be very upset if I need to replace it at some point, and cannot get the same one.

White Cuisinart Toaster Oven

I have had two white ones and you can not find any longer. The silver is smaller inside. If it works as good as the white, it is excellent. I am sorry they quit making and selling them. Thankfully I stored the first one as backup.

So far I have been disappointed. I debated on getting the Breville Compact and the Cuisinart, the price was the same for both. I bought the Cuisinart because the store only had one left and the price was marked down to $139.99 and I had a 10% off coupon.
The oven gets to hot on the outside. So hot that it even warms up the kitchen. The only part you can actually touch is the handle (be careful of accidently hitting any part of the door) and the touchpad when the toaster is on.
I wanted to bake a cake and adjusted the rack, only to have the bottom of the cake burn. I had even reduced the temp because I was using a nonstick dark coated pan. The cake still had 20 mins left of cooking time when I had to remove it from the oven which was starting to fill with smoke.

i got this for my birthday last year. i had a smaller/less expensive one that was very basic. so not sure if i wanted all the bells and whistles. well, this oven has been a god send! i love to cook/bake. but living in los angeles, i don;'t always want to put on the big oven and heat up the kitchen. i can bake a pie, pizza, meatloaf, 5lb. chicken, etc. in this machine. love the convection feature. this has also been my second oven when i do big occasions. i.e. thanksgiving, christmas, easter, etc. larger enough to make my side dishes, rolls, etc. the convection feature is great for high heat roasting vegetables. well worth the money.

DO NOT BUY!!!

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. It is one month over warranty, and used maybe 15 times total, and just didn't work last time I turned it on, when it worked perfectly fine before to cook little things like biscuits, cinnamon rolls, and chicken nuggets. Not even toast. Stored away until I used it these few times. It should've lasted longer than it did for the price and name brand. Cuisinart's (i.e., Conair) customer service is useless. They should be ashamed for pawning off this cheap product. They have lost a "valued customer."

LOVE IT!

Love this toaster. Buttons are not difficult for me to see. Weird that the tray pulls from behind, but it is not as bulky as it appears and I am able to manuever easily on my countertop to empty crumbs. I do always manage to hit the "start/stop" button after setting the timer and it shuts off the oven. I wish you could use the timer separate from the oven for everyday household things. Otherwise it cooks FABULOUSLY! From toasting, to potatoes, brownies, everything I have tried so far has turned out wonderful! It cooks better than my gas oven! As for c/o the rack not sliding out when opening the door...I always had to wrestle with my previous toaster oven b/c it constantly came loose from the attachment to pull out the tray. It is unbelieveable how easily the rack slides out of the toaster even using tongs or fork to grip. It doesn't seem safe to reach in and grab toast from any toaster rack without a utensil anyhow, the rack will always be hot. No more screetching metal doors or racks or annoying toaster oven buzzers for me! I hated to spend this chunk of money on a toaster oven....but worth every penny!

I don't know if they have changed the one flaw that I found in this product. I don't like the fact that the crumb tray needs to be removed from the bak of the unit. If only the tray access was from the front, it would be the perfect toaster oven.

Really Good Oven

I researched extensively before making this purchase and had it narrowed down to a KitchenAid with dials or this one. We have had this one for a little over a month and have been very pleased with it. We have used it to toast bread and bagels. I have baked casseroles and broiled with it and it has met every test; it is especially good with frozen rolls. It preheats really fast. The pans are very easy to clean and I have not needed to clean the oven yet, even after broiling. Only downsides to me are remembering the steps (e.g., you have to hit start to get the oven going and then do temp and timer and if you hit start again, you turn it off) and it can be a little tricky getting some things out. Also it doesn't turn off when the the timer goes off, but that is not a terrible thing--it just keeps beeping until you hit timer or turn it off.) We were able to use a coupon to bring the cost down and that was helpful, too.

We got this off our wedding registry and absolutely love it. We've toasted, baked, reheated, made pizzas, etc. in it and it works like a charm. It looks really nice and it's a great addition to the kitchen as it acts like a 2nd oven during entertaining. It's hard to find a good toaster oven nowadays, but this one has it all. On convection, it reheats rock-hard frozen pizza to a nice toasty freshness in under 6 minutes. Only problem is how close the top burner is to the pullout tray. The tray does not automatically pull out with the door, so I've singed my knuckles a couple times.
