Another unhappy customer with a "short"

Like at least 2 others, my base developed a short after two years of occasional use. I definitely think it was a defect. Maybe I can use the crocks as planters?

This is the best overall slow cookers I have ever owned. I love the fact that it has the 3 different size crock pots...2,4 and 6 qt. sizes. You can make a little or a lot. I have owned this since 2009 and no problems what so ever. I would definitely recommend this product!

this is the greatest idea to come along ever; when I found this Cooker; I fell in love. I tend to obsess about my cooking, baking and tools I use. I have the best that money can buy always. People know if I have it; then they know it's quality and because it has mutiple crocks it allows you to cook all the recipes allowed or used in all the magazines and cookbooks. Indeed with the size of the recipe you accomadite times and allow for larger portions for more time. I suspect when using this product you must allow for the size of the recipe and the length of time to prepare your recipe. 6qt will take longer or require a higher tempature. this is ideal for families who want to cook for 2 or larger families. this is a great starter cooker or for retired couples too.

I've had this unit for a couple of years and I use it 3 or 4 times a month. I absolutely LOVE this crockpot!!! I just wish they had a similar model with oval crocks....I would buy it in a heart bet!

Doesn't always work

This is a great idea, for the smaller crocks. When we use the largest 6 quart crock, the food does not cook as well as in the smaller crocks. The base does not seem to heat all sizes equally. For instance a roast and trimmings has been in the 6 quart for 12 hours on low to cook overnight and then had to turn on high. Has been on high for another 3 hours so far and still not all the way done.

I have owned this slow cooker for a year and a half and I don't know how I lived without it. It not only cooks well, but is an easy clean-up also. I have a wonderful slow cooker recipe book and it's so convenient having the right size bowl for every recipe. In addition, for even easier clean-up, you can buy slow cooker bags to go inside the bowl. I am getting ready to buy one of these for my boyfriend's daughter as she goes into an apartment for her sophomore year in college. You won't be disappointed in this product unless you happen to get a fluke; if that happens, return it for another one.

Unhappy consumer

I bought this Slow Cooker after I accidentally dropped and broke my Rival Crock Pot that I had for years and loved. It might be a short in this unit or it may be poor design but we have had problems since I took it out of the box. I bought it because of the three different pot sizes (which I do like) but the base STINKS. It has never worked properly. We attempt to turn it on and sometimes it comes on but 95% of the time it does not. We have to wiggle the dial and it might come on and might not. My husband and I have finally gotten it to turn on, left for work with it working, only to come home to find out that it has shut off at some point during the day. We have to throw food out because it has sat out all day still raw and uncooked, then typically go out for dinner because our meal plan has been ruined. Regardless after a year of trying I am throwing the base in the trash and buying a different brand. I am going to keep the three bases and the lids and use them for marinating.

So far I like it

I picked this model for the 3 different sized crocks. So far I am happy with my choice.
The chicken recipe from the enclosed booklet was good, cooked in 2qt. I have also done Indian Pudding in the 2 qt. I did a pot roast in the 4qt. The 6qt is really huge/tall, and I will likely only use it for pea soup, where I need a lot of room for a ham bone. If you are tight for kitchen space, you probably will want a model with smaller "footprint"
I was aware that all newer crockpots will run hotter (for food hygiene) than my old one. I think having crock size crock will be good because there are settings for each. I did notice the pot roast gravy boiling even on low, but the final result was fine.
I like the fact that the 2qt and 4qt crocks are fairly low, fitting better on my refrigerator shelves than the old one. The crocks all share one lid, (all crocks have the same size opening). But I've found you can use a Corelle dinner plate on top if putting one crock in the fridge and using another. The lid has a small hole, allowing you to poke in a meat thermometer.

I like that it comes with 3 different sizes. Very convienient when you just want to cook a small meal or make desert BUT i wish the 6 qt was more oval instead of round. Its small at the bottom and get gradually bigger. The picture shows a chicken laying down cooking but really unless you are putting something under it i.e. potatoes to prop it up you cant really lay it down flat. I might have to get another crock for cooking full chickens. Great for soups though.

love it but it's broken!

I loved this slow cooker and have recommended it to several people (even bought it as a gift for others). It's convenient and versitile with it's three inserts. My only complaint is that after two years of occasional use, mine is broken. There seems to be a short in. I would recommend it but only gave it one star based on my experience with it.
