The Worst

I bought this scale because it was one of the most expensive Bed, Bath and Beyond sells. It is the worst. If I weigh myself 5 times, I get 5 different results. This scale is a waste of time and not worth the money. I'm going to return mine!! Do not buy!!!

We have owned our scale for 4 years . We have never had any problems with it. My husband is in the army and has to keep a certain weight. Also we love to work out, this scale has helped us keep track of our progress. Love this scale.

Not for everyone

This scale is good if you fall within the scale range. Each category (water, muscle, bone, fat) has a specific range that it reads. If you fall out of range in any category, it won't give you any of the other readings. For example, I have 41% water but the scale has a minimum range of 43%, so it wouldn't give any of my information for the muscle, fat, or bone percentages. So I basically spent $100 on a scale that only provided my weight. I could have bought something that cost $10 to just get my weight!

The Best

One BIG flaw is that it cycles through the body analysis much too quickly after which shuts off. The size should remain so long as you are running on it. With the memory feature you can retrieve the knowledge for anybody who is trying to record it.

I researched a few scales, and finally bought this one. So far, I feel that the scale has been very accurate, (although sometimes too accurate, lol)

The Best!

We bought one of these scales about a year and a half ago and weren't expecting to like it as much as we do. We have found that it's extremely accurate and reliable. It's amazing! We just bought two more, we like it so much. I don't know how the other uses could be so disappointed. Our son is an elite athlete and weighs himself every day to monitor his weight and body fat and he wouldn't use anything else.
The only time we had a little trouble was when it was getting moved to clean the floor. After calling customer service we learned that if the scale has been moved you need to turn it on but not weigh yourself so that it sets itself to the "0" point. Worked like a charm!

I really like this scales features and it's ease of use. You can pre-program up to 12 users. The setup feature is easy to use. Once set up the scale gives a full body analysis and saves the information.
The one BIG flaw is that it cycles through the body analysis way too quickly and then shuts off. The scale should stay on as long as you are standing on it. Because of the memory feature you can retrieve the information if you are trying to record it.

Homedics® Glass Body Fat Scale Health Station

When this scale worked, it was great. Easy to read large LCD window. Low profile.
The problem started when I went to change the batteries and noticed that the entire battery compartment had rusted, thereby rendering the scale useless. I have tried multiple times to scrape off the rust so the batteries can make a solid connection. No luck. How can a company advertise a bathroom scale that is to be used in a humid environment, when it rusts???
Homedics user manual also recommends to step on the scale with feet slightly damp to ensure a good body analysis. Again...rust???
Not recommended.

Great Concept, not so on usability

I just purchased this scale, and I think it has great promise. After weighing yourself, the scale rapidly displays 6 settings [2 sets of 3 - (weight/body fat%/water%) and (muscle mass/bone mass/calories)]. The problem is that the display automatically cycles through the information too quickly. I feel that I barely had enough time to write down the information, let alone absorb what it all means. There is no way to go back and retrieve the information with it automatically cycling through the info.
Also, there is no backlighting on the display so you need good lighting in your bathroom (who has good lighting in their bathroom?).
Additionally, I weigh myself on a smooth concrete floor and have found variation of 1 pound as I move it around (within minutes). Makes no sense?
Homedics needs to take this to concept to a design firm with an ergonomist for a redesign! They need to focus on several aspects of the display of information.
