I got my Cuisinart on sale. I have always wanted a KitchenAid and bought my daughter one for a wedding gift. I couldn't afford the KitchenAid so I thought I would settle.
Was I wrong! Having used both; I LOVE my Cuisinart Mixer!!!!!
The only downside was the mixer was missing a rubber foot but the company mailed me the foot and all is good.

Buying another one!

I never thought to leave a review after purchasing an item, but I'm on here buying my second Cuisinart mixer (I need another for gluten free baking). I owned a small baking company that morphed into a cafe. I never had space (or $$$) for larger commercial models, so I used basic home models for semi-commercial use. I beat up mixers! I've owned several Kitchenaid mixers over the years, and used them til I burned out the motors. I finally opted to try the Cuisinart mixer as it had a 7qt capacity, although I was worried that it wouldn't have the strength of a Kitchenaid. I was happily surprised to find the Cusinart FAR exceeded my expectations. It was as though someone had taken all the things I disliked about my KA and made a more user friendly, stronger, lighter model (actually, I'm sure that's EXACTLY what Cuisinart did!). I fell in love with my Cuisinart mixer (whose motor has long surpassed the KA models!). I will only ever buy Cuisinart mixers!!!

A horrible experience

I received this as a gift from my husband for Christmas. The first one we received had oil leaking all over the box and a part missing that holds the top on. So, we ordered a second one. When it arrived, I was concerned about the fact that it raced from one speed to another without my changing the dial. I was sporadic and unpredictable. This concerned me but I thought possibly it was a variable speed. In addition, when making a double recipe of cake, it did not thoroughly incorporate the batter. I then contacted customer service and did not receive followup after providing them with the serial number so I emailed them again and received the following response:

I only had this mixer for about 2-3 months. I have an issue with the fact that Cuisinart is telling me that I need to pay shipping for their manufacturing defect. I went back to Bed Bath and Beyond and the said they would take back the mixer. I am going to buy a Kitchenaid and save myself paying more money and aggravation. I also bought a Cuisinart Belgium waffle maker and will return that as it does not evenly brown the Belgium waffles. I made four batches in 12 days to test the waffle maker and it does not live up to expectations!
Sincerely,
Laney

Cuisinart 7 qt stand mixer

I love it and what's not to love. It has a 3 year warranty as opposed to the KA and it has 1,000 HP as opposed to the KA that is about 1/3 less HP. It has a timer on it and it's digital. The KA does not even make a 7 qt. product that I know of. I loved it so much we got the 5.5 qt. for my eldest daughter which also has more than double the HP @ 825 opposed to 325hp for the KA.
It is truly something to be proud of and it's a shame others will go more for the KA brand without doing the math on the HP and the warranty.. In addtion, buying it from BB&B, I got 20% off and BB& B provides a 5 year warranty FREE. I did not even need to purchase a warranty on my daughter's or mine.
Absoutely love it and the difference in the outcome of your baked products is remarkable. The beater paddle gets to the entire bowl incuding the bottom which my other stand mixer did not. Who knew it could make such a difference!!!

Great Gift

My husband began making sub rolls about 6 yrs ago for his daily turkey subs. Our Kitchenaid labored through the mixing process. After his retirement last year he began making all our bread and had to divide the dough into two batches so the mixer could handle it. I gave him the Cuisinart for Fathers Day this June and it mixes all his bread doughs with ease. I think it might be the best gift he ever got as he tells everyone about it. I love it because I don't have to stand over it every minute with my spatula to keep scraping the sides when I make cake batter, cookies, etc. And the lift up lid...what a great convenience!

This is without a doubt one of the best purchases I ever made. I absolutely love this mixer. It is sleek and powerful and I would not trade it in for the world. I am looking to purchase another for my mother who loves to bake.

Great replacement for broken Kitchenaid

My KitchenAid 6qt stand mixer gave out in the middle of a batch of bread dough. pffft Checking other reviews I discovered that mine was not the only machine that didn't live up to the quality of those in the 'old days'. I decided to go with this greater capacity and more powerful Cuisinart. I am pleased on many accounts.
It fits more conveniently on the counter. It's not so heavy to move. It has a tilt-head. The bowl design is more attractive and easier to use. It has a timer. It has a 'blend' feature. It incorporates ingredients well. The splashguard is attached to and lifts up with the head. It has other power ports for attachments. I could go on but really only need say that I am very pleased with my new mixer and the certainty that I'm covered by its warranty which exceeds KitchenAid's by a factor of 3+.

Its sad to see how cheaply made this mixer is; Cuisinart used to be a name synonymous with quality appliances. When I unpacked it, I was dubious that anything so light and rinky-dink (the entire case and stand is made from plastic) could deliver the sort of power the manufacturer promises. Well, it can't. The machine strains, chatters and shakes when you use it. The top cover doesn't snap shut, it just closes loosely and rattles when the machine is on. The motor strained on a double batch of cookies, less than half of the 15 cup capacity that the Manufacturer states. The machine got stuck repeatedly and then surged madly to higher speeds while the speed selector was still set on "2". The speed selector itself is a cheap plastic dial. Also, there are a lot of extraneous holes in the case for stuff to get into and not be able to be cleaned out of. The only somewhat well made component is the 7-quart stainless steel bowl which promises the ability to do great things that the machine can't deliver. Kitchen Aid also isn't what it used to be, but I'd take it over this Cusinart any day.

Beats Kitchen Aid hands down

I purchased this to replace a Kitchen Aid Pro 600 series 6qt. stand mixer. Be forwarned if you are buying one of those...they have plastic gear parts and will not last. The Cuisinart 7qt is amazing has more power than the KA, much easier to use. The mixing seems to incorporate much more thoroughly. Love the timer feature, the auto overload shutoff and the fact that it fits under the counter. I use my mixer weekly to make bread and this has handled that with no problems. I highly recommend this mixer if you need one to handle heavy mixing jobs.
