Vidalia Chop Wizard

The Vidalia Chop Wizard is the fastest, safest, and easiest way to chop or dice fruits and vegetables. Simply place the item on top of the stainless steel blade grate and with one swift motion, swing the top lid down. All your chopped veggies and fruit are sent cleanly into the clear compartment underneath. Stand it on its side, and it works as a measuring cup with marks up to 2 cups. Blades never need sharpening. Dishwasher safe.

Good at first

This chopper worked great at first, but only last about a month when it broke when chopping an onion. I even cut the onion into 3rds first so it cannot withstand much, better with veggies like tomatoes and potatoes. Also it doesn't come clean very well, its hard to get the pieces out of the lid and the grater. It needs more sizes to chop with also.

Couldn't Live Without This

I have it for yrs and have given it to people as gifts. It is wonderful when making soups salads anything. Just the handiest thing in the kitchen and I use it more than I realize, until I am somewhere and do not have it. I would really love if the cutting blades were just a bit longer so you could cut longer pieces at one time. The only misus which isn't a minus to me is cleaning the top piece. I soak it in water and use a kitchen knive to run throught the white things to get it all out, but that is nothing compared to how much I count on this for every day use

I like to read the reviews on any product (if there is one) before the purchase of a product and this one lives up to what everyone is saying. Great time saver for making salads.

I have used this items for a few years now and would be lost in the kitchen without it! What a treat to have this when I'm making stir-fry, soups, cold salads and everything else that requires a lot of items to be chopped. Many friends & family members now use it in their kitchens as well.

Best Kitchen Tool Ever

It is the best kitchen tool I have ever had. You can chop tons of onion in no time. You do need to cut them in slices first if you want finely chopped veggies. This is easily accomplished with any kitchen knife. But if you want a great slicer for sandwich tomatoes at home, I recommend the OXO Hand Held Mandoline. You can get great results with very moderately priced slicer.

This easily chops veggies. However, if you want diced veggies, be sure to slice first. It was a great help at holiday cooking time! Bring us a slicer!

This is the best As seen on TV product I've ever purchased. The only thing that would make it better would be a slicer to go with it. If you use a lot of diced vegis this product is wonderful.

First of all, this is my favorite kitchen tool. So easy to use and it has saved me hours of work.
Does anyone know of a new Vidalia that slices apples and other foods?

I did force it last week and broke the plastic knob off the bottom piece. Would love to buy just this part! Buying 4 or 5 for Christmas gifts this year for sisters and mom!

This chopper is one of the best "as-seen-on-tv" products! It's super easy to use and makes chopping much quicker than you'd ever think! It's worth every penny of its cost!

I don't know why anyone would have difficulty cleaning this product. The little "comb" that comes with it works perfectly on the plastic grid, especially if you clean it immediately before stuff dries on. As for the metal chopping blades, I've found that one of those round dish brushes does the job on it.
The only issue I have with the chopper is that I wish the whole item was made of metal. If you try to force something through the small cutting grid that shouldn't be (husbands!) the plastic peg that the top swivels on can break off. Once broken, it cannot be glued back. Otherwise, it is a brilliant invention!

Works but HORRIBLE to clean!

So I have to admit, this chopper does do its job, you can chop stuff pretty easily, although for thicker items like tomatoes you still have to slice it a few times first. However, my problem is with cleaning it! Green peppers and tomatoes get stuck in all of the little squares, making it very hard to wash. I tried soaking it, but ended up having to poke out the excess membranes and skins with a toothpick. Not worth all the trouble...

Great for berries

Received this as a gift. It did a great job with tomatoes and strawberries, then I tried apples. I swear, the tomatoes don't cut properly since I tried the apples. Tomatoes mash now, thus the 4-star rating. But it works like a charm on the strawberries! We do u-pick at the end of season, and my 3-yr old can "chop" the berries before we freeze them. BIG fan--Something that empowers children who want to do housework will always get a high rating!

Usually, you can't expect too much from "As Seen On TV" products. The Vidalia Chop Wizard turns out to be a big "Thumbs Up" !!!
I just got through making some clam chowder and this thing worked flawlessly. I chopped raw potatoes, carrots, and even stringy celery. It worked every time without a hitch!
Cut your pieces to about the thickness you want, load the chopper, give it a good whack, and before you know it, the hopper is full. The chopper is built sturdy and only took a few seconds to rinse off. I put it in the top of the dish washer before I used it, no problem.
Use a 20% off coupon and you can't go wrong.

I have had this product for 3 years now, and I still love it. It works great. I use it for onions, strawberries, celery, carrots, potatoes, green peppers, etc. It still works as well as the day I got it. Great product for the price.

Bought this on a whim a couple years ago. Now, I'm buying them for everyone I know. I use it for everything-- cutting onions, red peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and even avocados (for my homemade guacamole). It's pretty easy to clean-- I often just put it in the dishwasher. I can slice food extremely fast. Plus, I don't have to worry about cutting myself with a knife. When I'm cutting something hard, I'll use a stool so I can press down on it harder. I've tried cutting half onions at once and the device has never broke nor cracked. Makes a great wedding gift.

A YOUNG MAN AT MY LOCAL BED BATH AND BEYOND RAVED ABOUT THE VIDALIA. HE WAS SO ENTHUSIASTIC THAT I BOUGHT ONE PRINCIPALLY TO CUT ONIONS. IT WAS MY LUCKY DAY. NOT ONLY DO I NEVER CRY OVER ONIONS ANY MORE, BUT IT MAKES CUTTING OTHER VEGATABLES SO MUCH QUICKER. THE VIDALIA IS ONE OF THE FEW KITCHEN PRODUCTS I HAVE BEEN EXCITED ABOUT. I MAY BUY A FEW FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS ALSO.

I use this all the time. I use it when making macaroni salad, potato salad, when canning or when I chop up onion for hotdogs and hamburgers. My Mom saw mine and I had to buy her one also. I will be buying these for Christmas gifts and have an extra one for when making homemade salsa. You CANNOT go wrong with this product.
