Best appliance in my kitchen

I use this pressure cooker for everything from rice, to green chile, beans, etc. It makes absolutely zero noise and has cool functions such as brown, simmer, and saute in addition to the pressure cooking. We have reduced our fried food intake dramatically as most meats will brown in this with little to no oil. LOVE this machine!!

My husband bought this for me as a Birthday gift. I LOVE it! We use it 4-8 times a month for so many different things. I was worried before we got it because I had read in some of the reviews that people were having problems. I had a couple of issues at first, I later realized that in my particular case they were nothing more than user error. I would definately have to say it's one of our best purchases.

This product makes the most delicious meals and so fast! It is so easy to use...you can brown, saute and cook all in one pot! Less dishes, less time! Where else can you cook 4 chicken thighs, one large breast and then dumplings on top to boot in less than half an hour? And it made the sauce of a lifetime in the bottom! Healthy and delicious! Don't miss out!

I LOVE my Cuisinart Elec Pressure Cooker! Roast chickens, beef roasts, soups, but my favorite is using it for making broths. It sucks every bit of chicken-ness out of those bones to make the heartiest of broths. After every chicken I roast in my Cuisinart, I follow it up with a "bone pot." I don't even add vegetables to my broth creation. It doesn't need it! Just the bones, gibblets and water up to the 16 cup mark. 40 minutes later you have the richest chicken broth!
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I've never been successful with this: after using the searing setting for a beef roast, I've not been able to get the pot to pressure. For some reason, it doesn't like to convert to that method of cooking. No problem really; I just sear the meat in a saute pan and then drop it in my pressure cooker for a meal of scrumptiousness in no time! I HIGHLY recommend this product!!!

I love to cook and was excited to get the pressure cooker for Chritsmas. The jury is still out because in spite of followng the directions, the pressure cooker stops and revertsto zero when it reaches pressure so no cooking occurs. I watched the demo video and as a fellow marketing/communicaitons professional must suggest that you hire a professional photographer/editor and shoot this in a time lapse sequence to show more. Show how to correctly put the lid on and position the pressure knob-perhaps this is where I am going wrong. And what is supposed to happen with "the red float" that is referenced in the written data? Mine seems to be locked inside a plastic cover and doesn't do anything. If I cannot find information to make this work for me then sadly I have wasted time and money.

The cooker seems to be well made. However, the instructions are very poor. I had major difficulty getting the it set, especially the timer. Not sure if something is malfunctioning with the settings or if the instructions were just that bad! It seems to be a good product but with the difficulty I had with the instructions, it's not a pleasant experience getting started!

Our family is a bunch of hard core foodies. My son requested a pressure cooker for Christmas and we all had fun trying out new ways to make fabulous foods. Whole family loved it. Easy to use, easy to clean, does not take up burner space!

I have had this product for over a year and I have had no issues with it. It is wonderful. Works perfectly and is the best pressure cooker I have ever bought. It saves me so much time. I like the fact that I can set the timer, go out and it goes off when done. My sister is at this very moment in Macys purchasing one for herself based on my recommendation.

Great Cooker

Used the old type of pressure cookers for many years. Got this one about five years ago. I cook beef, chikcken all types of pieces, great chicken stock left over, also pulled barbecue pork. Rule of thumb 18 minutes per pound. Veggies, low pressure cauliflower/broccile 3-4 miuntues, sweet potates sliced 6 minutes, carrots sliced 6 minutes. Whole potatoes 22-24 minutes high pressure, beats any oven baked potatoes, can slice and fry for breakfast. No sugar added apple sauce, quarter apples fill pot, added 1/2 teaspoon of the following powders, nutmeg, ginger, cinnomon and a few cloves. Pressue 18 minutes then put into blender and make the sauce. Can store for some time in the fridge. Beans cook well, time needed depends on the vartiety. I do soak the lima bean for one hour before cooking (for 22 minutes) when making pork and beans. Except for the beans I always put enough water in the pot to cover the removeable wire stand. I would like to see a larger size made of the pressure cooker. The only things worn out so far are plastic mositure catcher for the lid area and the pressure release valve, it has cracked over time, will contact the company for a replacement.

I've had this pressure cooker for about a year now and I love it! It's prefect for my busy, healthy lifestyle. I just freeze my meat with the spices, then in the morning while I'm getting ready, I pop it into the pressure cooker... 12 minutes later DONE! I love it so much, I'm getting it for my sister for Christmas!

I think this pressure cooker is great. We make chicken soup in it all the time in 8 mins. I do have to say starting it is a bit tricky but after you figure it out the first time its easy. You set the time and then it does its thing and will shut off when done. The pressure relief valve you just rotate a notch and it releases the steam and when its completely released you can open the lid, but only when the pressure safety lock allows you to. Try it out. If you dont like it for some reason you can always return it. My wife and I love it.

Don't buy. I did. Used it five times before issues started. Lid is tricky, pressure knob is off and it is just not worth the money (at all!). Trust me or not...and waste your $$.

I received this pressure cooker as a gift last Christmas.
I have not missed a week using it for some occasion. It works beautifully. The only problems I have had is operator issues by not reading all the instructions first.
My family enjoys the quick and delicious meals. It keeps the kitchen and dinning area so much cooler than using the oven & stove.

I purchased one and the same happened as other reviews, after about three times using this pressure cooker - the steam would build up, and then it would just go into warm mode - and burn the food. I took the first one back for replacement - same thing happened with second...BBB should take off the shelves.

Saw this demo'd on a cooking show and just had to try it out. Love using it on Sunday for cooking our roast, potatoes, carrots and such...doesn't heat up the kitchen, fills the house with great smells and the meat comes out done, tender and moist. A very good investment!

We have used ours for three years, approximately once a week, and it has performed flawlessly. We cook lots of beans - pinto, red, kidney, etc. - and vegetalbe soups.
I love the ability to set it and then go do something else. And, it is Quiet.
It has paid for itself many times over.

Not Dependable

I had been wanting an electric pressure cooker for some time and after reviewing many models decided to go with Cuisinart since it is a pretty reputable brand. I used it three times and on the fourth attempt it would come to pressure then switch to "keep warm". The timer would not start to count down. After four attempts I gave up.
In addition, this pressure cooks at high pressure at only 9 psi. Most pressure cooker recipes and stove top models set high pressure at 15 psi. The lower psi causes you to have to add additional time to the recipe.
Also, the 6 qt capacity is really not large enough if you plan on feeding more than 3 people. Since you should only fill the cooker to 1/2 -2/3 full you really only have about a 4 qt capacity to work with.
