After reading all the other reviews, I guess you can say this is no coincidence. I received our original Cuisinart microwave about 4 years ago, it stopped working immediately so I exchanged it at the store. Our replacement just quit today - checked the fuse - is OK with power to the clock and controls but no heating, fan or motion. I've had problems with other Cuisinart products - they used to be "premium" but now they are just shoddy.

Yup....like so many other reviewers, our microwave bit the dust just shy of 4 years from purchase. It worked great while it worked; but it just quit!!! I'll shift brands today as I go in search of a new unit.

Huge disappointment!!!

I received my microwave as a wedding gift. It was exactly what I wanted and I loved it, until last week when it died. If I touch the side/back it flashes on, then goes back off. Same thing if I open/close the door. I contacted Cuisinart and they say they need to look at it and I will have to pay for shipping and handling there and back. (This is a heavy microwave and wouldn't be cheap.) I have had it less than 4 years. I will never again buy a Cuisinart product!!!!!! The only good reviews this thing will get is from someone who has just got it.

Guess I'm One of the Lucky Ones

Like many other reviewers here, I was quite happy with this microwave oven, until one day, it up and died. However, in my case, there was no arcing, no circuit breakers flipped, or melted plugs. It just died quietly in its sleep, lol. I opened the door one day, there was a brief flash of light, and then everything went dead - oven, clock and timer display. Further, mine lasted a whole 4 years - so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. This is not a unique problem, though, folks - our entire, global economy is based on durable goods not being durable.

Just stopped working

I liked the look of it. That is probably why I bought it in the first place but I also heard that cuisinart was good. We have had this microwave for two years and it just stopped working. I am very disappointed and a little angry. I had a much cheaper microwave that lasted me 20 years. I guess I was lucky with that one. I wanted a larger microwave and that is the only reason I gave the other one away. It's probably still working. I will not buy cuisinart again.

We got this microwave right after our wedding. I really liked the look of it and it didnt take up too much space on out counter. I wasnt crazy about how it functioned, only 1 option for one tough start. Thought Cuisinart was a great brand but this was a real dissapointment. Had it not even 3 years and it died. For the cost of the microwave it should last much longer than that!!

I had this microwave for 2 years when it just stopped working..it blew the circuit breaker and the plug acutally burned in the outlet. This is a serious problem, and I would never buy cuisinart again.

I just received this microwave oven as a gift from my wedding registry and was so excited when I got it this morning from Fed Ex. SO far it works great and comes with a manuel that gives you some helpful tips on how to cook food in your new microwave oven, and a few recipes. I love to cook, but am a very bust person so I hope this will help speed up the cooking process on days I am too tired to cook, :-)

Im gonna have to second (wait, no, fifth) what many others have said. I thought it was ok, like many others who have written good reviews- but I just hadn't used it long enough. Sure enough, after about 2.5-3 years the thing stopped working altogether. The lights are still on and the timer still goes through all the motions, hey it even beeps at the end, but there's no heat anymore. NO WAY am I going to front the shipping cost so they can fix what is obviously a piece of *?it! to begin with.

I recently received this gift from our wedding registry, it is replacing our old microwave from my husbands bachelor years. This new microwave is so quiet! A little hard to figure out, I had to pull out the manual to heat something for 12 minutes because you have to go through weird steps but overall its pretty amazing and looks good in the kitchen. Very reasonable price and hope it lasts for a while, but you gotta love BB&B's return policy

the "chrome" handle is really a shiny plastic handle, which will certainly wear off as time goes on and the handle is cleaned, the stainless on the front is different from the metal sides, the sides are painted metal.. to look stainless..so I am returning mine!
